Decentraland (Mana) - potential this bull run or not?

When I started my crypto journey early 2022, Decentraland (Mana) was my first buy.

In the previous year it pumped over 70x and there was a lot of hype around it at the time. I had no clue about cycles when I first started crypto so I bought it not knowing it would then spend the next few years going down in the bear market.

I am currently 40% down on my position, don’t have too much invested in it but wondering if the hype for the metaverse has gone and if I should cut my losses on this investment and move my money into AI or something that is expected to do well for the remainder of this bull run.

Any thoughts at all on Mana or metaverse in general? Can it make a comeback or is it better to be invested in something else this year?

I've been a fan of games and saw this project like before 2021 but it did became a trend on that year when NFT games exploded.

But being bullish on its coin. I don't think that we'll ever see it again. This is just my opinion but people got tired of these matters. It's no longer going to be a thing anymore.

If the project is still continuing and people are still playing games under Decentraland or the game itself, then that's it but I am not optimistic with its coin anymore.

You decide, whether to cut loss or put hope of its recovery.

i'm not one to lose hope but you gotta be realistic, metaverse hype did die down and people lost interest, if decentraland is still going on under the hood that's great but i wouldn't count on mana making a significant comeback, maybe consider dollar-cost averaging out of it and into a more promising area like AI or a growing gaming trend.

Metaverse is dead sadly in my opinion. It was a get in early & get out fast with huge profits vibe. The hype has gone & the money has moved elsewhere, realistically what use case did it have? It was just a modern day SIMS type thing. Sadly I don’t think it’s going to return for a second dance. Hopefully you took some profits out during the last bull run, people have moved on to new things.

Metaverse project are already dead because it’s proven that startup project can’t deliver any quality product while there’s already a saturation on this market that doesn’t finished at all.

Maybe in the future they will revive again if there will a new feature that become a trend but ATM I don’t see any reason why investors will buy this token.

I started investing in it after the last bull run in 2021 so no profits from this particular investment.

All altcoins are down currently , thinking once I get back to near break even I will take the money out and put it into something new like AI which should see a lot more returns this year.

I believe there is a chance metaverses see another bull run the in the future, but for it to actually happen much time still needs to pass by and better technology needs to be developed, so metaverses become appealing for the general public and are easy to access.
As it stands now, technologies like Artificial intelligences have a very wide number of use cases and they can actually be presented with a variety of problems which can resolve. On the other hand, metaverses are a solution seeking for a problem to get rid of.
When having a character within the metaverses makes (somehow) life easier for anyone, then that day Metaverse coins will start to surge in price again, until then they will continue to be stuck in this range of prices.

I also have this MANA when it was hype. It went up for awhile and then went down for the while time. Before it goes to its initial price I sold it because I think its already over besides there is no real game on it, But I still moved to another which is the SANDBOX.

Somehow It felt like it was a good investment for me at first. Tjhe metaverse hype is dead but the only narrative that didn't die since is the memecoin. So much loss after that. Not much to make money in altcoins in these cycle expect if you have chosen the right ones like XRP.

I could sell it now for a 40% loss and put it into something I feel may 10x this year but there is no guarantee the altcoin I replace it with will 10x.

I like to back an underdog and there is no talk about it right now but it is far from dead as it still has a $600m market cap and it could get some hype again as we get closer to alt season.

There's almost zero metaverse hype in this bull run and I think it's largely due to the fact that the spot that Metaverse would've dominated have been captured by AI. I saw in the news some months ago that even Meta ran into heavy losses because they chose to keep working on metaverse breakthroughs when they should've just pivot to AI like all bit tech companies have done in the last 2 years

Have you considered using the MANA to buy land? I know there is still a lot of active development in Decentraland, but as an investment, yeah its not doing well and will most like continue to flounder. Any gains will be sold into by people like yourself (who are still down a bunch but more desperate to exit their position).

But it never got any prominent rise in price or utility to use it in anyway even though they are on the news now and again. As I remember, at some point in time they were in the top 20 coins by marketcap but came many other projects that went pass by there marketcap and had relative success while MANA kept on decreasing in value, marketcap and popularity, dropping down over 100th position (1st page).
Metaverse genre is already outdated and I don't think there are any chances of revival of MANA as a utility. There can be games of pumping and dumping but it won't sustain as a popular coin.

Considering there has not been any hype for metaverse for over a year now it is still only just outside the top 100 by market cap which makes me believe they can still have a good bull run this year as it is holding up pretty well.

I don’t have much invested so for now I think I will just hold it till I get back to break even and then may sell it then to move into AI which I believe will see more returns later this year.
