You guys need to learn how search engines, especially Google, work. The results that we see aren't based on ratings by people or research done by specialists about the topic we are using for the search, but the results are based on SEO optimizations of those pages and websites. Have you ever heard about SEO backlinks and keywords and how websites use them to rank themselves higher in Google search results?

You are completely getting the whole thing wrong. This is not about what you know about search engine technically but about how Google search engine is faculty and bringing up wrong information. What we mean is that people should be very careful of Google search engine because of the wrong information they are giving people. Anyone that search for a good wallet or a good bitcoin wallet will not see accurate result is what we are saying. I have noticed this since many years ago just as it is on my post. What you want to defend does not need any defense when it is completely giving wrong information.

I'm not really sure but we all know how Big G is, there are even phishing links that can be seen in the first page of their search engine. So it's obvious that we shouldn't believed them even if most of the time we used their services.

For newbies it's very dangerous, and hopefully they won't fall for it or at least do more research as in this example, when they are searching for the best wallet, for us those are not as they don't have total control of those wallets.

The both ideas are great, but it's appalling that the genuine wallets like electrum and some hardware wallets didn't make the list. Their duty also is to outsmart competitors SEO wise and rank on the first page of google as the wider range of newbies use the search engine for research purposes. Backlinks works real great in ranking, and that's what those other low level competitors use to garner users, nothing else. Without quality backlinks from Top DA sites, your site won't go anywhere on search engine.

It's not the duty of search engines to scrutinize information, the sites or blogs have that as a function, and the search machine through its algorithm crawls on websites and rank them based on keywords. What Op shared is as a result of his keyword, should it be more targeted the better information will pop out. Technically, the information isn't completely wrong those wallets are not scam, just that they're not the best for an experienced crypto user. For instance, the result on the right, shows the keyword "wallet" because Op searched for best Bitcoin wallet app. So google gave him bitcoin wallet apps, with "wallet" after its name.

The internet is messed at some point, it is the reason why we have to test run apps for the first time, then make other researches either by people who had gone through the same app as well or from user experience. 

Let's not get relaxed with information, not just about crypto wallets much other information spread on search engines are wrong, especially health related searches.

This reminds me of how I was using Trust Wallet for years and was parading it as the best wallet both for Bitcoin and altcoins long before I learned about other wallets here in this forum. If it was for Google search alone, we would never see open-source wallets on the list of best wallets.

How people go about this rating that makes these wallets appear as the best is what I don’t know. If the rating is sponsored by the wallet owners or the reputation the exchanges hold is still what I also don’t understand.

Because non custodial wallets are like community-led and they are mostly not commercial ones or their main concerns are not commercialize their products and get profit. They don't spend money for marketing and advertisement through SEO or paid packages with search engine companies like Google.

This explains that custodial and close source wallets with huge budget for marketing and advertisement often dominate top search results and suggestions for best Bitcoin wallets. It's misinformation but by checking it further, you will have chance to find truly good wallets, open source and non custodial.

I think everyone already knows that there is a lot of false information on the internet, but not everyone knows how to deal with it. Most people usually take information from the top sources in the list. However, when I search for something online, I always check multiple websites, which allows me to gather more information and better understand the situation that interests me. I can't guarantee that this method is 100% reliable, but I can't recall any cases where I ended up with false information

The Internet is already messy and it's good we aks questions from a reputable platforms than going to the intenet to search for information. Many people had lost their funds and their accounts get hacked because of the Internet search engine.
Everyone just need to know what they are doing while trying to get information from the Internet. There are some social media ads that could be misleading which is why I don't click on ads especially when it's look too convincing for me.
Many scammers are very brave and they keep looking for ways to get access to our funds.

I have noticed this for a long while now the results I get whenever I search for specific information on Google. Due to the poor output, I usually use more than one source like some AI tools and even this forum to verify the information I am getting to avoid being misled.

This forum has really been very helpful in offering good guidance to its members on their bitcoin journey. I have seen in this forum cases where a user creates a topic which is obviously misleading because of the source he got the information from. Once the topic is posted here, knowledgeable members of the forum will spot the errors in the post immediately and let everyone know what the right information is.

Bitcointalk forum is where every bitcoin investor should be, you can never go wrong with it except you don't follow up posts here.

At the end of the day, anything that comes out from the internet should be verified.  Don't trust the result at first glance, dig deeper after all, those who are meticulous in their work will always look for pros and cons of everything they see.

Always be cynical when searching the internet, and consider all information as fallible, this way we can protect ourselves from the malicious intentions of other people.

There are wise tips in the use of the internet, one of which checks the source. The wiser internet users, the smarter the perpetrators to find ways so that internet users are easily trapped.
Same is the case in downloading the application. Smartphone users also download the desired application through the shortcut, which is directly from the Playstore or the App Store.
The nature of being rushed in searching there are sometimes not because of intentional but because of something that can be answered by every user who has done it.
Regarding the wallet downloaded through a search on Google, the habit is not good.

Not all information on Internet are reliable and if you are too fast to go with the information you get in the Internet,  it is possible you may be taking the wrong information. It is very important not to be too fast to accept things we get from the internet,  their is needs do further research to be sure of the information we get from the internet. Going with wrong information can misleading one that can cause one to make big mistakes and it is also embarrassing to give out to the public the wrong information that was gotten from the public.

Going into a single research is not enough. You need to compare your researches at least from 2-3 legit sources, that way you will know which one is likely wrong and which one is more fit and reliable.

However, if you could ask a trusted friend and share his own experience, that would be more reliable. Experience will always serve as the best teacher, at least you should also learn from the experiences of others.

Most of crypto related press is not investigative, meaning that fake news can spread and circulate most of the news services without verifying their source, so what matters to them is clicks and advertisements, not credibility.
The research procedure is in the knowledge and tracking of the issuance and the credibility of the platforms that publish news, and accordingly, the link between prices and news can be understood.

This is for the Search Engine Optimization when these exchangers spending their millions for the search engine optimization on the others hand the decentralized wallets haven't done these kind of invest for the search engine optimization and here google search engine also showing them in the top.

And I think this should be also a reason for even we do some research on google we should do explore the crypto based community to know the actual info's.

Google prioritises their ads more to what we actually want to know when we search about something on the internet. The wallets that popped out first most have paid for an ads and used the key words ‘wallets’ as one of the words Google should give reference to immediately someone is searching for an online wallet to use. A naive newbie will never know there is more to this they’ve seen as the result from the Google. Bitcoin forum will give a more accurate answer to this than the Google itself, hence why I still commend and prioritise this forum as a knowledgeable source for bitcoin and cryptocurrency information.

My bother is how will someone who is not well inclined to this knowledge of how Google search engine works do with their investments when they only get bad wallets as suggestions on Google but will it's about SEO and very rare will find a decentralised and open source wallets to put in effort to see themselves have much more customers as those wallets do so it's left for anyone to find more information and ratings about each wallet and use them to decide what will be the best wallet.

Additionally if a newbie is in this kind of forum then as time goes on they will find what is much better in due time.

Exactly, this is alarming. Like is there any way to report these? I think this is also when using Google itself like their algorithm in how their search engine works.
Another alarming is these search results sometimes give you some links to scams or hacks, like some websites where when you will connect your wallet or some asking for your seed phrases and will drain your wallet.

There should be means to report this; if you check in each search result, there is always somewhere that shows an option for feedback that can be used to report such inappropriate content, but the question is, will they take action immediately? Or they will wait for dozens of customers to report first before they can consider their suggestion as being wrong.

If they take their recommendation based on the findings they find from other sources, which means it's just deeper than Google, they should make their own personal research before allowing their algorithm to suggest that to others.

So, google doesn't have something to do with it but these platforms are in a rush to get to the shown results based on the keywords that will be shown towards the people that does the research. It's about a fine print down the line - if a person is willing to, he would do things right and read into the options presented to him, not just pick something that served to him on his plate due to SEO, which you described.
