India has  one of the fastest growing economies in the world and in area of technological research they tend to be advancing too (I recall they landed a spaceship on the moon in 2023, south pole precisely). Also known down history for its spice trade, with such advancement and it's population too it's a good market for the EU, it's therefore no surprising the EU delights in reaching a free trade agreement.

Europe's economy combined is not a minor player. The most educated population, no wars in many decades, common markets, safe laws... Europe can and will trade on equal terms with anyone.

This should not anger anyone. Trump has the tariff and antagonistic strategy against any other, Europe is easy going and has a huge market ready for the right partners.

All sounds fine and good on paper, but we must remember the European Union has some of the strictest controls when comes to products which are allowed to be offered in the European market. And India has some bad history of the low quality of their products, specially pharmaceuticals. The European people won't be happy if suddenly their supermarkets are full with imported goods, which may be cheaper but orlf a lower quality than they are accustomed to.
Will the government of India be willing to step up their quality control for the sake of a commercial partnership or this is going to stay as a fruitless economical treaty?

Also, the European Union is trying to do the same with Mercosur and so far European farmers are not happy with the new competition they will have.
