many people take the security of their bitcoins too lightly. they just don't think about securing their bitcoin wallet and leave it without any backup. when their mobile phone is in trouble, they then realize how stupid they were not to back up their seed phrase elsewhere, making them unable to access their wallet and making the bitcoins lost.
something as simple as this should have been avoided if from the beginning the person understood how to secure bitcoins properly. but most people today only know how to buy bitcoins, but as simple as securing their seed phrase they don't think it's important.

rr People often do stupid things, they have done it before and will do it in the future. I know of cases where there were wallet hacks, but some people continued to keep their coins there because the hack did not affect them. People only learn from their mistakes, and there are many who believe that keeping their coins on the exchange is safe, what would have to happen for them to change their mind, probably only the loss of their funds.
That's why people should adapt, not just shrug it off. Because those things are not to toy with. If a person makes the same mistake again and again, then a big lesson for him will be his loss. Until that person admits the loss, his good sense will not arise. I have heard many people who lost their coins by hacking their wallets but they do not do much research on why they were hacked , which is why they may be hacked again in the future. If they learn from this platform and take precautions, then it will be good for them. Bitcoin is not lost only through hacking. There are many people who are holding Bitcoin but their keys are not safe. They can even make mistakes in the pass phrases they have collected. Since they do not do the work with caution, they will understand very well what their problem was when they do not get access to their wallets after a long time. There is no forgiveness for that mistake, they will have to lose.

On the occasion of what a colleague of the local forum said, and that I translate to you: I mentioned not long ago how a friend of mine lost half a Bitcoin by saving it in a wallet on his cell phone, and since he opened it with his fingerprint, he didn't think it was necessary to copy the seed, not even the wallet's password. Until some update asked him for the password and he is still looking for a way to find it out.
I wanted to ask you if you know of similar cases in recent years. We all know that in the early years a lot of bitcoins were lost because they were worth pennies, most people didn't even imagine where this could go, there was no HW and things like that. But even though the bitcoin loss rate has been reduced in the last years I am sure there will still be human errors like the one in the quote that will end up with bitcoin loss, which is not bad for the rest because as Satoshi said they are like a donation. Do you know of similar cases? God so the money is gone? Well when you created an address almost all of wallet will send a notice to us to save the seed phrase because we can recover any coin if we lose the seed phrase even tho you have the fingerprint on your phone. the fingerprint and face id only work for additional security

I agree with you. There are still many people, especially those who are still beginners, who consider the security of this wallet to be trivial, they don't even back up their wallet security to another place, when their phone is lost, they don't get access to bitcoin. Even though the assets in the wallet are small, you should take good care of them, we must learn from people in the past where at that time the price of bitcoin was still cheap and the way they got bitcoin was still very easy, but they didn't take good care of their wallet access so that when bitcoin rose very rapidly at that time they could sell because they didn't know their wallet access anymore. An important lesson when entering the crypto world, although this world offers tempting profit opportunities, you need to know that hacking is also getting more sophisticated and wallet security is also very important to maintain so that your assets are not threatened. If you are not careful, your crypto investment can be lost in an instant. Actually, I have found many cases from crypto groups where they lost access to their coins for various reasons, lost their phones, forgot their passwords, and so on. In essence, wallet security should not be underestimated in the crypto world, even when you send assets to the wrong address, your assets cannot be returned. So besides the security of your wallet, you also need to be careful in the crypto world.

As we said, that's a total newbie mistake, but an expensive one in this case, so we will never repeat enough times the importance of saving one's seed/passphrase in a safe place.

When inexperienced ppl use wallets in first instance they can't limit their abilities if they haven't researched bitcoin. Many ppl don't know how to buy or send bitcoin so their wallets aren't in danger. It doesn't take a long time to read what's going to happen if seeds are lost so newbies should've been paying attention. If these people are going to give up by being ignorant for two or three times - it would be theirs loss, not ours.
Those who would experience such a thing should just do everything in their abilities to minimize the risks going into the future.

Very expensive mistake. In as much as the knowledge is not there on how important it is to keep a seed phrase for most newbies, I think most software application do make emphasis on it's importance, and they even go as far as telling a user that the newly generated seed phrase is not backup by the same application that generated it. Most newbies probably don't take note or put that emphasis to heart, until they eventually lose it. And again, the additional biometric security features was just to add extra layer of security to the application, and not necessary the wallet. But newbies these days confuse it, as they think it is the primary security features, thereby neglecting their passphrase.

Some wallets don't show recovery words, as was the case with Tangem cards (which is no longer the case), and I believe Ledger does too. This means that a simple loss of pin code can lead to disaster if you never knew the seeds or if you didn't write them down in the first place.
That's why I prefer tools like Bitbox02, which let you check words whenever you want (you still need the pin code, or even a passphrase as well).
People will still losing their coins with fake wallets, scams, greed in general.

God so the money is gone? Well when you created an address almost all of wallet will send a notice to us to save the seed phrase because we can recover any coin if we lose the seed phrase even tho you have the fingerprint on your phone. the fingerprint and face id only work for additional security Once he loses access to his address - the bitcoins are no longer his. It is a basic rule to back everything up securely - but when they ignore it, the risks are really annoying. Losing all your bitcoins safely stored in your wallet without being able to access them is a nightmare - even worse when each coin is worth $1M or more. Have you ever heard of someone who is crazy enough to dig up a dumpster for the thousands of bitcoins they allegedly have buried there?

Well when you created an address almost all of wallet will send a notice to us to save the seed phrase because we can recover any coin if we lose the seed phrase even tho you have the fingerprint on your phone. the fingerprint and face id only work for additional security This is the most ridiculous case because when creating a wallet it does not save the seed phrase and maybe this happens to those who do not understand what a wallet is. When people understand the wallet, it is certain that when it is created it will save the seed phrase because generally the seed phrase cannot be screenshotted so another method is needed to copy and save it. There are many lay people who experience problems like this and generally they are not people who dare to spend money to buy coins but only take advantage of the free ones like the ones that are booming in PI so that when the coins start to rise they lose access to the wallet they created earlier.

https://x.com/suji_yan/status/1895103068808642811I had seen this tweet go by, the person left his cryptos on his wallet and got hacked 4 million, as I'm still super naive I don't know if it's true, it sounds crazy to me. I turned 29 yrs old today, 6 hours ago. Around 3 hours ago - one of my public wallet I carried on my phone was hacked and 4m$+ assets was stolen. All the stolen tx seems manual and span 11+ mins.
So either the private key was leaked same day as my birthday and hacker manual tsf out or it might be an offline attack. I was in a private gathering with dozen friends and my phone was away for some minutes when I using the restroom etc. I trust my friends but this is a nightmare to anyone.
I’ve contacted @SlowMist_Team and @zachxbt to help the investigation and in cooperation with authorities and agencies. Before there are any outcome from these experts I will not say more.
I hope if this is the offline case - you should confront me directly. Crypto is not a dark forest and I will not let it be.

You just don't see yourself doing something like that. Many people tend to not to care much about their security, and such cases happen due to that
