I've heard the phrase "making a living in gambling," but I don't know if there are actually people here who have pulled it off. So, this thread is me asking, are there any users who can prove that it's possible to make a living from gambling?

I'm talking about gambling that's not purely based on luck. I'm sure you're aware of games where skill plays a role like poker and especially sports betting, which is pretty popular.

Is anyone here doing this long-term? If so, I'd love to hear your insights because I'm interested in following this path.

I totally agree with you on that, and of course gambling is just a luck based. which is why I'm still finding it very hard to also believe that there are some folks who are making a living in gambling. Because there's nothing one can do that will prevent him from losing in gambling, though we do experience win most times in gambling but not often. probably just once a while sometimes it could be once a year as the case may be, Just imagine taken this long before one can still experience win in gamble and you think that there are people who are making a living through gamble.....Is obvious that no one can ever make a living through gamble, except the person is doing it spiritually.

I don't know anyone who makes a living from gambling in the long term. I also don't know many public figures who claim to do so. Even among those who claim to make a living from gambling in the long term, there are many scammers. I know a few bloggers who believe they make money from gambling in the long term, but I have also seen their claims debunked by other bloggers. In general, it is always very difficult and even if a person claims to make money from gambling, this needs to be carefully checked. And such a check does not always indicate the veracity of the words of the person being checked. On the other hand, if you manage to get even a little closer to the possibility of honestly making money from gambling, this will indicate that you have a very high intelligence.

If a gambler managed to make big money with small amount of money he would probably think that he is highly intelligence, which will make him to become even more reckless next time.

But when a gambler accepts that he won because he was just lucky, he will set things straight for himself, he will probably use that money right, because he knew it will be extremely difficult to win another.

If gambling is additional income - it is possible not to become gambling addict, but from the beginning of the thread we are talking about gambling as a main income. So i think that these guys are gambling addicts, until they change their income at least. It can be i a problem, but i don`t see that they cares about it. On the other hand in any profession we get some "professional deformation". For them it is a job with its deformation. If some moment it would become unprofitable and they change their occupation i`ll can say something about their addiction.

My job and my gambling both were profitable, lots of families in my country get summary income less than i got from gambling. The job just more profitable. And gambling was another kind of job, with its specialty. And i`m a live man, i have family, friends, hobbies. In that style of living, i had during gambling + job - i had no time for it.

That's exactly my point. There's no way any gambler in the world will make a living only through gambling and won't lead to addiction. That's why I encourage the idea of doing something else and making gambling a probability additional way of income since winning in every game is not guaranteed due to the high chance of the house winning in every game.

It is good that your gambling life is profitable, and I am happy you were able to walk away from the game despite how profitable it was because we have a situation where some people see it as something hard to do.

For my experience, if you want get some serious money in gambling - it will take too much time. May be i don`t know the right way, but it doesn`t matter for me - the result is that i can get some small money  spending some time(too much for such profit) or to play just for fun, mostly losing some small sums and getting some positive emotion even from losing.

I can`t judge someone for their lifestyle. If they are gambling addicts, but they have no problem with it - it`s ok for me. For me it isn`t a problem to stop the game when you want, and i don`t understand someone who has such problem. My opinion that they have to visit a doctor.

Not only is luck a big part of the play but even if somebody is able to pull this off and make a living off gambling, it would not work infinitely.

This depends on the kind of game a gambler is playing. When we say a gambler can make a living, that already implies consistency.

For example, if someone is making a living through sports betting, I don’t think that will just stop in the future. The leagues will continue, and as long as the gambler stays updated and their method keeps working, it won’t become obsolete.

Gambling is actually a game of luck but sometimes carefulness always play a big and important role that is why you see some folks making a lot of money from gambling what I mean by this is that sometime instead of them to play plenty games and used a little money to bet, they will just find a small odd and heavy stake it maybe just to take back 2 or 3 times there staking power it makes sense right, that is a safe gambling skill or strategy but sometimes even with the small odd they will still lose that is why it is a game of luck but picking a small odd is the best strategy and it will minimize loss.

I heard from some people that they are making living from their gambling, which they failed to provide their evidence that made me to believe that there is no truth in their talk. Gambling is not something you will learn to become professional of winning on the time without losing, but how to make your winning high than your losing is possible, but making your living from gambling is not possible.

That's right , the Things that have to do with Gambling Are very Different , you can never trust that they are your Own Income , I Personally am clear about it , when I was starting out in casinos I played with the intention of winning more money and I was very Lucky especially with Dice , but there came a time when I lost a lot of money , so sometimes you felt very disappointed with Yourself , sometimes I thought it was my fault for not knowing how to play, but no, the house advantage is Incredibly beneficial for the casino, that's why it's a very profitable business.

Gambling on a long-term as only means of livelihood is that actually attainable judging by how even in games where skills are required to be able to push ones luck you aren't still guaranteed of getting even 3 times wins in 10 gambling sessions. I don't believe anyone is living on gambling and is comfortable with it either.

People that claims to live on gambling wins do also have some side hustles that brings in regular cash to their pocket but they wouldn't want to make it known just to make people believe they are doing great with their gambling expedition. Let no be deceived.

I thought we all agreed to be gambling for fun, where is for living coming from exactly? To be frank with you, I don't know if should attest to what I'm seeing or see people display, personaly I don't leave through gambling earning and I can confidently says I have not really see what I have done with gambling money, just do mobile subscription all through or oder something and some small bills, thats what I have done with all I have ever earned from gambling money.

However, I have seen people shows off their things they bought through gambling, they show off the money they have won, they show cars and even the house they built, some display what business they channel their gambling earning into and this is what they do all the time, they show bets slips to prove winning but at the same time, there are allegations that some of those slips are edited and photoshop for money laundering to claim they are gambling, I can't really attest to this gambling lifestyle, I can only say about myself and it's no.

I read stories of employed youths in some third world countries that resorted to gambling to earn a living, of course this is very possible considering their local currencies against USD in other word earning some few dollars in gambling amount to a reasonable value in their local currency where the cost of living might might be low thus engaged fully in gambling to make end  met, however I don't that is tenable in advance countries by relying solely on gambling to pay bills and other essential stuffs, even if there are gamblers who are involved in that act definitely few of them

Of course, in developed countries it is better to find employment in business, or in hiring with growth prospects, so you can earn much more with little risk. And plunging completely into gambling and trying to find earnings there is too risky an undertaking, you can devote a lot of time but in the end not earn anything, and in the worst case remain in the minus. In addition, an addiction may appear, which is extremely difficult to get rid of. But if in third countries they manage to earn money and they are happy with it, then let them do it. The thing is this types of thing no one would teach you in personal. If someone got a skill or method to surpass his winning rate he will surely use that to maximize his winning rate. By spoiler it he is making his own enemy.

There are some gambling games that require experience  and skill to win. And I would  say that it is possible to  earn money in these gamblng games. And it can also be chosen as a profession if we have enough skills.
One such game is poker . If I am experienced, if I have  skills then I can earn a lot of money in poker. If the skills and strategy are good, it is possible to earn money from it . It is also possible to earn money from various sports gambling if we are experienced. But it is not easy at all. Because sometimes good luck  is also needed to win in gambling.

I agree with you, gambling can never be considered a reliable source of income, because it is completely dependent on luck. A gambler who says that he is completely dependent on gambling is definitely lying. Because in gambling, the chances of losing are always high, and no one can ever win consistently. So if someone says that he is managing his life by gambling, then he is basically trying to get you into gambling by giving you false assumptions and for that he has presented this false drama in front of you. Nothing more than that, So you must be careful of them.

Getting some serious funds through gambling may require much time, and may not require much time if you choose to go for lucky based game that doesn't require analysis of the game which is what I always play later in the evening whenever I want to gamble late at night.

Yes, we can't judge people but if it is something that has to do with gambling, I believe it will be unfair to the person if we are honest about what they are doing since it is something that may affect them later on because most people that are gambling addicted started it small, and those that ought to call their attention to what they are doing didn't.

I agree with you, gambling can never be considered a reliable source of income, because it is completely dependent on luck. A gambler who says that he is completely dependent on gambling is definitely lying. Because in gambling, the chances of losing are always high, and no one can ever win consistently. So if someone says that he is managing his life by gambling, then he is basically trying to get you into gambling by giving you false assumptions and for that he has presented this false drama in front of you. Nothing more than that, So you must be careful of them.

In my opinion, a person can never force you to gamble. But people always look for easy ways to earn more money. So when someone hears that a person has won a lot of money by gambling, then the thought of gambling starts coming to their mind. That person starts thinking in his mind that if I gamble only 2 times, I will win 2 times. But they forget that gambling is completely dependent on luck. To win in gambling, you have to be lucky, not experienced.
