Even though it can be seen that the traffic from bitcointalk has decreased compared to a few years ago, you can see that bitcointalk is still the largest forum that discusses Bitcoin and altcoin. And people who want to discuss bitcoin or altcoin, and are looking for a relevant forum, type "bitcoin forum" in google, bitcointalk is ranked first in the search, meaning that bitcointalk still has high traffic and remains popular.

I can't say what was that different on the Forum six or so years prior, but I do agree - there are still threads to follow and knowledge to be gained, and that is all I care for.

There may be a lot of reasons but I understand that few of the OGs of the bitcoin scene are here only and historically a lot of information on this forum is worth knowing for understanding the proper approach to crypto.
Social media tends to put up a skewed approach to anything they publish about. I dont trust news media or social media to that extent but things have improved there as well.
This forum also thrives on its signature campaigns, without which I guess it would not have so much traffic.

There, people are usually honest regarding general topics and you are likely to have the answer you seek faster than anywhere else, I mean X or somewhere else. Also, scams are not as rampant due to the members acting quickly on it, usually, not like on the bigger socials.

After 6 years I came back to the forum. frankly I didn't intend to enter this thread. but I wanted to talk after a hero member commented on my previous post. this site is not as popular as it used to be. 6 years ago not many people knew about bitcoin and everyone who knew was also visiting this site. many people have discovered bitcoin and alt coins but this site is not as attractive as it used to be. what do you think the reason is. i may be wrong but this is my opinion
If AI spams will not stop this forum will lose sense since there's no sense communicating with people using AI since we can see that they are not contributing anything on the discussions. Also lots of new sets of crypto users now are into social medias which they get those information's they want and this is add to the factor on why the forum losing its popularity. But for sure if majority of those people will lose their trust on information they got on social media once they found out that there's so many Fuds and hypes out there. Then hopefully after that they discover this forum as best platform on where they can get solid information on topics they are curious to know. Social media tends to put up a skewed approach to anything they publish about. I dont trust news media or social media to that extent but things have improved there as well.
Don't trust those outlets to, since there are situations that they are manipulating the minds of their readers, they release bias information which is actually not good to read by innocent people.

In the past, there was no merit system introduced, which would have encouraged any new user to work, but now, due to the introduction of the merit system, most new users have lost interest. Moreover, in the past, the bounty sector was quite popular, which attracted new users to do the bounty there, but currently, the condition of bounty projects is very bad, which is why bounty hunters have lost interest.

Blah blah blah.
While such posters will write answers without their opinion but copy what the AI bot gave them, the forum will bend lower and lower. It's a shame that there are people @PX-Zwho do not distinguish texts written by a robot and reward them with merits. By the way, @BADERO, this is not the first post you have written with the help of AI. https://loyce.club/archive/posts/6508/65085882.html

It may not be as popular to you but then again, correct me if I'm wrong but have you been on this forum from that period of time till now to be able to monitor it's popularity rate? It's good that you said your observations might be a bit wrong which it is because although this place doesn't announce the number of participants that flocks into this place, this place boasts of many users. There are other forums that are also in circulation but I don't think they are as popular as BitcoinTalk.org. - Bitcoin.com - Overlockers. -Beermoneyforum. -Cryptocurrencytalk. -Bitcoingarden. -Altcointalks.org - Coinforum.de.
All those forums listed above all discuss cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in some way yet the only one I've heard about is Altcointalks. In terms of forum popularity, BitcoinTalk.org takes the lead.

Thanks for bringing this up. Well, i'm just being neutral reader and not invested on recognizing AI text posters. It's just a mere merit unlike the tag and reputation given or will be given to the user, so good luck to him.

You should have simply stated this in OP, so that we can know the actual reason why you created this post. Let me try to analyse or answer you. Let me share my own ideas. It started after the merit system came. Frankly, I left it at that time. This platform never made an effort to attract new users.
According to you, the decline started when the merit system was introduced. Those who could not earn merits, just like you had to leave, hence the decline. Those who roamed the forum like watchmen started to do more harm than good.
I believe that you meant the DT members. Do you mean that the activities of the DT members declined the forum traffic? Too many platforms were formed and Bitcointalk system administrators started to deal with users instead of improving themselves.
It is natural that when there are alternatives, people shift to the alternative. For admins dealing with users instead of improving themselves, I can agree with you because more than $1M was invested in epochtalk but it didn't happen. I wouldn't be upset if they banned me from this site right now. Because this place doesn't add anything to people anymore. And the so-called administrators of this place are still trying to protect its antique values.
No one will ban you for saying your view. You said here doesn't add anything to people, but it added to me.

I didn't want to try to satisfy anyone. I think dt members are reducing traffic. I know there are still very high quality and knowledgeable people on the forum. but if this place had not lost its old influence, it could have been much different. 6 years ago moonforum was opened. because this forum was very active, it could not attract users. i don't think this place is like it used to be. i hope things will change over time Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Compared to most forums and community on the basis of crypto currencies and bitcoin, Bitcointalk still stands out as part of the most visited and the fact is we have relatively high traffic here. Nevertheless that aside, it's possible the forum traffic has dropped but it could b also to a number of factors like density of organic post since it seems like organic post density has actually dropped a bit.

what do you think the reason is. i may be wrong but this is my opinion Even with the large number of Bitcoin lovers and investors 6 years ago, still, not all of them were on the forum. I know that you are thinking that there should be more users on the forum now because of how the number of bitcoinist has increased but people are learning about Bitcoin in other articles online. If this forum was the only source that can teach about Bitcoin, then you will see more people here. Even if the traffic reduced from how it used to be before, the forum is still a great place filled with members that has wisdom of Bitcoin.

Yes, you are wrong because from the time you said you left the forum to this day. Many people have join the forum plus me and others and bitcoin has been introduced to many people in the world here and outside here. And the only thing you can says is that, the people you know as of then are not active but few. And being active in the forum is a personal decision and nobody can force another to participate or active because everyone has their offline works to do. But some newbies left because of their intended plan to get merit is lagging.

I cannot totally say that it isn’t popular right now because when I google last time about a certain post, bitcointalk was the first thing I saw. So it’s still popular until now, but maybe when this merit system came, a lot of newbies were discouraged and ended up leaving the forum. But that doesn’t lose the fact that there are still million users in the forum all over the world, and there’ll be a lot coming if this forum will be more attractive and impressive in the next years ahead.
Exactly what i feel because i almost gave up when i got to know that ranking up requires me to earn merits during my newbie days because i was feeling that how can my success rest in the hand of someone else and what if i don't earn enough merits to rank up? Those were my thoughts during my newbie days but now i'm happy of how far i have gone now. The merit system is very complex, it's not everyone that can have the courage to continue when they make a lot of posts and don't get merit to rank up. Even till now there are users who after getting the airdrop auto merit in 2018, they have not been able to earn any merit in their posts again that is to tell how difficult earning merits has become. I know how many people i introduced to the forum but they ended up leaving when they couldn't earn enough merits to rank up. However, the bitcointalk.org forum is still very much popular just that the traffic in here has reduced unlike how it used to be in the past maybe due to some projects leaving such as the mixers ban and some people also become tired of the forum and left while there are also people who have moved on to other forums. OP, Now, just type 'the most popular or the best bitcoin discussion forum in the world' on Google search bar and see the result for yourself.

You are right; it's not popular for a group of people. For the rest, it's still popular for those who are active and want to learn about crypto. From your post history, I noticed you were a bounty hunter, so 6 years back the forum was popular for you. But lately, due to a lot of scams, bounty hunters can't earn much from the forum, and they are saying it's not popular anymore. So you need to change perspective to realise the forum's popularity.

Yes, OP doesn't seem to be improving either, and he just focuses on the bounty he's working on until the bounty doesn't give any good results anymore. I've been on this forum since 2016 and a lot of great people in this forum including you @cryptovator (I was inspired by your past thread about Some useful tools for find scam / fake ICO team). Until now, the great people in this forum are still active and they are not saying that this forum is not popular or anything like that, because they know how this Forum developed and how it originated. This forum is the first and part of Bitcoin's history, it will not be changed or forgotten at any time.

You're incorrect, the traffic in bitcoin.com is bigger than bitcointalk.org, although the data wasn't updated since 2 years ago. But, for the other sites, then yeah bitcointalk.org is bigger than them. But, I'm not surprised to see bitcoin.com has bigger traffic because they're not a forum in the first place, they have many projects hence they can gather people to come into their sites. bitcointalk.org Traffic Worth We estimate the website value of bitcointalk.org is currently at $ 107,613 USD and reaches roughly 35,315 unique users each day that generate 49,138 daily pageviews with a daily revenue (from advertisements, i.e Google AdSense) of $ 49 USD approximately. According to Alexa (the Web Information Company) the Global Traffic Rank is 20,240 (view Alexa traffic graphs), the website belongs to the top 100,000 most popular websites in the world. bitcoin.com Traffic Worth We estimate the website value of bitcoin.com is currently at $ 300,363 USD and reaches roughly 99,858 unique users each day that generate 137,152 daily pageviews with a daily revenue (from advertisements, i.e Google AdSense) of $ 137 USD approximately. Yeah, there are definitely less post/thread being created after merit system exist. But some member would argue it helped to reduce spam. I wouldn't be upset if they banned me from this site right now.
It won't happen. This forum doesn't even moderate scam. There are other forums that are also in circulation but I don't think they are as popular as BitcoinTalk.org. - Bitcoin.com - Overlockers. -Beermoneyforum. -Cryptocurrencytalk. -Bitcoingarden. -Altcointalks.org - Coinforum.de.

I unable to find forum called "Overlockers", but IMO we should also make comparison with cryptocurrency community/group that doesn't use forum.

There are faster ways to communicate and share information than writing on internet forums. The newer generations are more interested in social media where they can combine multiple interests on the same platform. Like that popular internet meme said, ain't nobody got time for forums.
On social media you can read about bitcoin and crypto. Had enough? switch to sports and movies. When you are bored with that, you can watch some funny videos of people falling on their faces. Etc., etc.
