I find it surprising that nobody has selected a friend/friends, because sometimes these people are most honest, unbiased, incorruptible. I would put administration on a last place, because it is the most uninterested option in keeping what you value. A family is also a tricky selection. How many times we have heard how most close betray for their own benefit. And you know, trusting ourselves can play a bad joke to us. Nobody cancels emotions.

If all the activities are about playing together, going out, study together etc, these aren't enough to reveal your friends characters.

You have to live with them for 3 months at least, hiking and creating a business together.

Live together in order to know their daily character, hiking/extreme sport in order to know what their decision in hard times, run a business because it's about money.

Those of you who clicked "nobody" I feel sorry for you.  At the end of the day, we are all going to die.  This is not a matter of opinion, but unfortunately a matter of fact.  We don't know when the day with our maker will come, but it's coming.

Some people don't use to think about emergency in their life, such as death, hospitalized,  and kidnapp to pay some of big amount of money for ransom, and if you don't tell your husband or children were the seeds phrase is, you know what will happen next. Trust doesn't just happen from a few short talks, you gotta really spend time with someone to build it up. Hanging out a ton, like sharing a place, doing a project together, or tackling hard stuff like hiking or super fun sports, shows you who they really are deep down. You can trust friends but you have to be very careful of who you pick. Even you've been friends forever it doesn't mean they won't let you down. Real friendships come from respecting each other and having those big moments that let you truly know them.

Agreed. It all depends on the person in question and what experiences you had with such a person. Everybody takes a decision whether to trust your closest friend or not.

There is no perfect solution to this, as the person must take a certain level of risk. It would have been lovely if such a person could keep the seed phrase all to himself, but eventualities and death may happen. Bank keeping is a good one, though expensive and you should never let them know it's the seed phrase, so keeping them in part is smart. A good law firm is another means to keep this, but like I said, in part, anyone can compromise.

All these troubles are because spouses, relatives, or anyone may compromise, yet they must be part of this. So, just as you entrusted a part to a bank/lawyer, you can entrust the other part to anyone you trust most in your family. That will be the person who would link the pieces together in case of an eventuality.

Even relatives, people who share the same blood or grow up with us can betray us, friends are nothing and not worth trusting. If we cannot trust our mother, wife or children then no one else in this world is trustworthy.

Remember, they are human and have greed too, they have never betrayed you before but that does not guarantee that they will not betray you in the future.

As Helena Yu said: try living with them for a while, building a career together and managing finances together and if it is a large amount.  You will see their true nature will be revealed.
For money, children can kill their mother/father, wives can harm their husbands, brothers and sisters can harm each other. So it would be a big mistake to believe that friends will not betray or harm us.

I do have friends which I think I can trust because I know them personally, they willing to help me and they never do bad to me. But, I have never live with them, we never create a business together and we never loan/lend to each other.

Not sure how close you with your friends, but I don't want to take risk for doing that.

Exactly, we were good with our friends a year ago, we know they never commit corrupt.

But, humans are dynamic and they keep changing, a year ago they said friendship is number one, this year they might say money is the number one.

The problem of seeds is obviously crucial. Can we imagine being the one and only person who knows what to do with these 12/24 words? How to keep them safe, but also how to pass them on to heirs or friends (so that they know what to do with them?). Informing others while preserving your own security can be a real challenge in some countries.
And then there's betrayal, divorce etc...

What are the solutions?

You just have to tell someone that you trust and tell about it, there is no use keeping it out secretly forever and your loved ones or children that are suppose to benefit from the wealth don’t know about it. You can also make it in such a way that they can only access the seedphrase only when you’re no more. The issue of betrayal and divorce you made mention of are important things to look out for, so it is better one takes their time and find a solution to this before concluding on who to know or delicate an information so important like this into their notice.

Tbh nobody because it's your money, just leave a note with the seed on it incase you'll be gone, and they can gain on your investments. Of course it's a money, they can literally assist someone especially your family that in need of finance. But individually, no one can be trusted, you should manage your money, so it's not going to be difficult to decide when to sell or not because if they have knowledge of the seed, they will circumvent the decisions particularly if the family actually needs it. Always keep in secret your money investments.

It has to be someone we trust with our life. I don't think I would want to pass out such personal information to anyone right now. Even though we understand that life isn't as blossom as it seems and in a blink what happens next night be undefined we still might have to trust us with our seeds. There are so many ways we can do this, either using a dead man's lock or just giving your loved ones some kind of hints so when something happens, they will know what to do with your seeds.

Our sources of income or the way we earn does not crossover. With years we became to live and rely only on resources each of us have. Each of us follow own path. So there is no place for greed between me and my close friends. They are totally not interested in money. I might be wrong about them, but I hope I will never find that out. If its greed or money, then I see no point for them to betray me, because each of us are ready to help financially. Why would they steal money, when we always can cooperate and help. I know them for +35 years, and would be stupid if money would ruin such long friendship.
