<..snip..>
Just a little background: Duterte was widely known for his war on drugs campaign, which, according to his political opponents, led to extrajudicial killings. This is the case that the ICC has charged him with.
So, what are your thoughts on this?
He should definitely be put behind bars for his actions.
Some people argue that the ICC has no jurisdiction over the crimes that he committed. Well, the crimes charged were made when Philippines was still under the jurisdiction of the ICC. Additionally, the case of Pangilinan v. Cayetano already set the precedent which ruled that the ICC indeed has jurisdiction over him.
The fact is that the former president of the Philippineswas a good man that has left a legacy of fighting drugs in his country which he swear an oth when he was assuming power as the president of the country and he was able to carry out his campaign promises so this is an attempt to bring all the good works that he has done to shame what we need to know is that all over the world there are people who are benefitting from the evil that's taking place and the case of drugs which has been an issue in the Philippines is one that has some internal backing some people are benefitting from the situation that is why he is been hunted, don't forget the killing of for Libya president gadafi the truth is that when ever a country start breaking out of the circle that the big boys of the world wants it to be problems will start
A good man? I do not think so. Sure, he has the motive to suppress and contain drug problems in the Philippines. But at what cost? Neglecting due process? Committing several violations of human rights? Lots of collateral and lots of nonsense killing empowered these policement to commit these crimes due to the directive of the Former President himself.
Following your point of argument, so you think that the end justifies the means? I do not think so.
