The thing wey dey surprise me na the way the suspended house of assembly members for Rivers State welcome the state of emergency. The thing make me remember one Jehovah's Witness book wey talk about the story of King Solomon and two women. Solomon bin judge the case very well, so I hope say King Tinubu go handle this mattter wella.

A State without nonstop crisis shouldn't be declared as a State of Emergency. What is the meaning of that, is he Bola Ahmed Tinubu should interfere in River State politics. This is one thing that I dislike with the Yoruba. They don't have respect and let other States run their political affairs the way it suits them. I could remember when Buhari was in power, he didn't support Ameachi's actions publicly.

Your right Buhari is a good leader, he never supported any evil plan by the Apc leaders in Rivers state. He always want the right things to be done regardless the party that is involved, Ameachi was Buhari first son but yet they never create any crises to warrant state of emergency in the state.

i think Wike and Tinubu share same attributes, they are very desperate politicians and will do anything to protect their interests even if is to disobey the constitution. The President in his address to the Nation today declared State of Emergency in Rivers State. I was Shocked on hearing this cos I’m currently in Rivers State and there’s not been any disruptions of the General Peace and Governance, No Wars or Violent crisis ongoing!.
So why then should there be State of emergency and the President Suspending the Governor and the House of Assembly Members who are also all elected to serve.

When I first heard this news I added an update to @Cossyblacks thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5533855.0  but I opened this thread to discuss the ABUSE of our Laws and Constitution.

I got talking with my friend who is a practicing lawyer and he had this to say based on the Law and Constitution;-

1. President has powers to declare state of emergency. S. 305(1)

2.State of emergency doesn't extend to taking over administration of the state, by S. 305 of the constitution.

3.The crisis in Rivers State has not led to the situation provided in S. 305(3) of the constitution

4.Suspending Governors and Lawmakers in a state and appointing a sole administrator is unconstitutional.

In the case of - A.G. Plateau State v. Goni (2007) 16 NWLR (Pt. 1055) 1 Court said:
1. A state of emergency does not justify the removal of elected officials.
2. The court stated further that the President lacks the power to remove a governor or dissolve a state assembly.

So How come now we are hearing this from the President, from where is he getting his Authority?
Where are all the National Law makers, SAN, and Chief Judges and the likes who are supposed to uphold our Constitution?.
Why are they silent?
Are they trying to get Rivers State under their thumb by any means Necessary?.

When every sane arm of government has been bought over in other for them to keep a blind eye what do you expect??? The Governor of the state has done nothing wrong. The judiciary cannot even do anything about it because at the initial time when they would have upheld justice they didn't so what sanctimonious preaching will they give this time?? When they were supposed to do the right thing by Nigeria was after the election when Peter Obi took the case of misconduct of election to court and even with all the fool proof evidence that was presented these people looked at Nigerians in the eyes and still lied. There's nothing they can do now, they've been bought over and they dare not stand by the truth. Let's not even talk about the Senate,  people that cannot investigate a simple sexaul assault allegations and just ruled whatever they liked is it the same people that'll stand by the truth?? The truth is the people of Rivers state are not fools for keeping quite the Governor has assured them of going through the right path regarding this case and they are willing to give it a try anybody that experienced how rough Rivers State was in 2005-2009 will not want the Rivers people to even think of violence cause their own is just too much and they'll push it to the extreme. This is politics and for politics Dem no dey play fair. You supposed no say Rivers State dey for radar and Mr President needs Rivers State Resources and vote to secure victory in the upcoming election. I dey vex for the Governor, the Governor supposed remain loyal and gain ground before challenging  his god father, him supposed learn from Ambode of Lagos mistakes. The current political crisis in Rivers state I think has been long planned before now, even before the president of the federation suspended a sitting governor for 6 months which some persons are saying it’s not in the constitutional power of the president to do so. We’ all know how all of this is happening and who is making all of this happen and the one person who sold out Rivers states is Wike the chief architect of all the crisis in the state, One of the problems we have in Nigeria is Godfatherism in our politics. The house of assembly members are working with Wike and they all know everything that is going on behind the scenes. There Oga is the one making all of this things happen in the states. We all still know that Wike is only interested where it will favour him and Tinubu can’t do anything against one of his minister and someone who works for him. Nigerian politics is all about interest and Tinubu also have his interest in Rivers State he is also thinking about 2027, but the house of assembly members, the people of Rivers states are disappointed for what Tinubu have done by dissolving an elected government. I don't think this state of emergency will end soon, i believe after the six months the FG will still extend it to another six months. Because the sole administrator has appointed secretary of state Government today. After the head of service resigned. interesting days ahead in Rivers state, at the end Rivers state people we suffer more. The state resources will be share among the bad leaders and the state will suffer a step backward in everything.

state of emergency that Nigerian Bar Association, Labour congress, former presidents, journalists and opinion leaders has openly criticized. Yet the president do not want to reconsider the illegal state of emergency in Rivers state. Rivers state is very peaceful even the illegal sole administrator confirmed it in his opening speech. Well RIVERS STATE crisis has been escalating since December 2023 when governor Fubara ordered the demolition of the state house of assembly complex which still dates it still remain unrebuilt the state system of checking and balancing, well if you look closely president decisions that was made was uncertain and unnecessary and potentially motivated, particularly given is connectivity to minister of the federal capital territory Nyesom wikes who accused of been the mastermind of the crisis, it was unconstitutional for the removal of an elected governor intact under some emergency rules this is really an potential for abuse of powers suspended an governor and appointing an military administration which could be seen as an attempted to consolidate federal power.

I have always been saying it that politicians are very greedy especially in Nigeria were politics is all about personal interests to them alone. I know it will surely come to this extent because it's has always been their plans to declare state of Emergency just to unseat Sim fubara who have been hindering them for so long,clearing him from the way will give them easy passage to starts looting the state resources. Our Elders use to say when two Elephants start fighting the grass will suffer the most. This parables is exactly what's is happening now in Rivera State,this battle between Wike and Sim fubara is nothing but a fight for absolute control of power in the state and this has slow developments,chase potential investors from the States. Like who's wanna invest his money in a war zone,the truth is that the people are the ones suffering the most from this fight. Now that the military have taken control of power in the state with the tasks to restore peace,all projects in the state have now been put to holds and we don't even know if this military administrator will even launch any useful projects in the state. Let's see if his puppet master will pull the strings very well by controlling him to governing state without causing any chaos. You heard me right,the Military administrator is a puppet that will always do the bidding of his masters,he is no different from a slave serving his masters.
