Not sure if this has been posted here, I didn't find anything. There is a video online on youtube, from the official Ripple account (I guess) promising a "too good to be true scenario". The promise is to double everything you send them. SOunds like the classic scam, right?

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQJatckKTeQ

Even binance wrote an article about it: https://www.binance.com/en/square/post/22078967602058

Obviously any other "event" of this kind was always a scam and the person/channel promoting it always got hacked. This video is running for a while already though, so I am not sure what to think about it.

Yes, it's a scam. hackers appears they were able to access RippIe
's YouTube channel. The video has 6,860 views, but there are still 1.2k likes, which suggests they were trying to promote the video using bots. Don't send them any coin and report the video.

Those who are likely to get scammed are those who usually jump around for some free money online by trying to use little amount to gamble and win something big, again altcoin lover are likely to get scammed as i don't put much interest in any related altcoin, though don't quote me wrongly but i see no sense why people should be scammed if they don't want to gambling with their funds. IICRC how a reputable politician (Something similar) account was hacked and uses to post about similar thing and lot of people were duped for their ignorance and not wanting to verify if that post was originally made by account operator. Anyway thanks for sharing, I think would also pass this post across our local board for them to be aware of this as well.

Good to know. I think the video might have gotten deleted  several times already because yesterday I saw the same video with way more views. I also commented it's most likely a scam but it's deleted now.
This video by the way is kind of boosted on youtube, appears on my staring site every single time.

By the way, just found that there are kind of 2 ripple accounts now, with over 100k subs promoting the same shit but having the same old videos online. All very strange and kinda weak youtube lets this happen for so long.

Report the videos. Beside share and save, you will see report. It takes just few seconds to reboot it. After you click on report, click on spam and misleading.

Post there links here so we can help in reporting the videos also. The ones I have reported before were taken down.

I do not think ripple has any official YouTube channel.

Why have they closed the comments? Are they afraid of something? I'm sure this is a scam because I can't see any description or any explanation. So, as you said, this is a classic scam, and unfortunately, you have to wait until many people lose their assets. again!

It's a scam. Ripple's official account has likely hacked. This happens every time on YouTube, but it looks like the Ripple team are too slow on recovering their account or reporting that it has been hacked.
Even binance wrote an article about it: https://www.binance.com/en/square/post/22078967602058
It's not an article made by Binance, but rather an individual. Binance has a platform where different users make posts or articles. More like how this forum or Reddit is.

I find it strange that Ripple has an official YouTube channel, and even stranger that it was hacked. I mean, a company with dedicated security departments can't protect its YouTube account from hacking? Is there any confirmation that these accounts are actually Ripple's official accounts? I don't think so. If they were, the company itself would have at least issued a clarification statement to avoid becoming silently complicit in the scam.

Whether these accounts are owned by Ripple or not, it's always best not to rely on social media as a reliable source, especially when it comes to investment advice. It's a good idea to post this here to spread the word.

honestly you should never ever trust these kind of thing, there has been cases where popular youtube channel with million subscribers are getting hacked and then getting used to promote scams.
at some point you know you should never trust anything that come up through these medium.

also the use of AI to fake voices and video is also making these scams more dangerous to vulnerable people.
just report them to youtube so that it can get taken down.

That's obvious. The thing that bothers me most really is the fact that youtube lets this happen for so long. I mean, those videos have been up for at least 2 days, the scammers even have paid to get them more exposure. And what does yt do, collect the money and say thank you.
Right now I these videos don't appear on my feed anymore, so hopefully something was done.

Ah ok, gotcha. I never use Binance and just found it a bit odd this was on their site. But if anyone can post nonsense like this on their site it's quite alarming.

What most bothers my mind of how easily those hackers seem to be able to break into those accounts security, specially since we are talking about accounts which belong to cryptocurrency companies and projects and would be protected with all security measures available, from double authentication or even biometric access if possible.
Unfortunately, there will be people gullible enough to send their funds to those scammers believing it is an actual opportunity to double their money, only because the account indeed belongs to ripple.

Anyways, thanks for the heads up and I hope this does not mean people will lose all their have for the sake of uncontrolled greed...

That's obvious. The thing that bothers me most really is the fact that youtube lets this happen for so long. I mean, those videos have been up for at least 2 days, the scammers even have paid to get them more exposure. And what does yt do, collect the money and say thank you.
Unfortunately, YouTube responds more quickly to videos of nudity, violence, and murder than to videos of fraud, especially cryptocurrency fraud. Therefore, users should learn the basics before trading, including the fact that "double your money" is a scam.

Why have they closed the comments? Are they afraid of something? I'm sure this is a scam because I can't see any description or any explanation. So, as you said, this is a classic scam, and unfortunately, you have to wait until many people lose their assets. again!

Because they know that people will post that they are a fake channel of Ripple, no legit platform will do a classic scam scheme of sending first to receive double the amount; several years ago, so many got victimized by this scheme; it was new back then because these scam channels have so many followers and likes.
We have to warn our friends about this scheme; after years of not seeing this scheme, they are active again because many new people are coming in to invest.

This isn’t new. hackers often target popular social media accounts to promote their scams. Even government accounts have been hacked before.

That’s why we should always be cautious. The OP is right: “too good to be true” is already a red flag. When we see something like that, we should automatically assume it’s a scam.

Scams keep popping up & it's inevitable. This doesn’t only happen on YouTube but also on other similar platforms especially on social media & it seems like they’re not doing anything about these issues. What’s worse is that scammers are paying for promotions & these platforms are making money from it. It’s always a red flag when they start promoting things like double your money schemes classic scam playbook.

1000000% scam.

you can see that from the username alone, it is different compared to the official ripple youtube account: https://www.youtube.com/@ripple
and this scammer: https://www.youtube.com/@ripple-u3p. most likely this scammer hacked or bought a verified youtube account to carry out this action.

but if someone is not careful they can get caught in this scam because it looks like ripple is the one who created this event, especially since the video has been watched 29 thousand times since it was uploaded. hopefully people are not stupid to immediately send their xrp to the scammer's address.

Yeah there's loads of stuff like this all over the internet. Seems to be particularly bad on YouTube, X & Instagram though. You did the right thing bringing attention to it & you obviously are smart enough to spot a scam, not everybody is though sadly. Stay alert guys, it’s a mine field out there.

In today's world wide web, anything that sounds too good to be true, is highly likely a scam.

But this one is easy to understand. Please check the account name and you will understand the mismatch. I hope people have not lost money on this scam already. I also think the hacker has purchased a farmer account with a huge fake subscriber base.

Identifying red flags is the best way to safeguard yourself from such scams.

That is why in these times, people or communities should be vigilant, especially those who are planning to enter the world of cryptocurrency industry because there are many hackers or scammers who are using it just to victimize innocent people who do not know about this matter.

Because if they are careless, they will surely be eaten whole by these exploitative people, because whatever the trend in technology is now,
that is also what hackers and scammers are using.

it certainly does seem like a classic scam

is no one from youtube reporting this? i am pretty sure that this is violating some rules from youtube guidelines

and i hope no one actually falls for this though i know some people who are vulnerable enough can fall for this and end up losing money and end up blaming ripple
