One can fight back at an early stage but only if they realize it. Most gamblers are too reluctant to accept that they are doing it the wrong way or that they are getting addicted to gambling even if it's true. They might start slow, but as soon as they start losing money, their inner self tells them that they can easily recover this money if they deposit a higher amount, and that's the beginning of the storm if they listen to that voice coming from inside of them because once you do that, you will keep repeating the same mistake without realizing anything until you reach the end.

This is why it's important for a gambler to, first, have enough patience and self-control, and second, have enough knowledge and understanding about gambling in general and what it is and how it works. There are gamblers who have been gambling for years and have never been addicted to gambling. There are those who gamble for some a few months and they are struggling with its addiction. I believe there is a significant difference between gamblers who gamble only for fun and gamblers who are doing it as a refuge from the rest of the world.  Gambling for fun is something, doing it to get the false feeling of being mentally healthy is another.  Alcohol can become an addiction too, so can drugs.  Yet a lot of people in the Netherlands consume drugs recreationally and a lot of people all around the world consume alcohol mostly in social settings.

Becoming addicted to gambling up to the point where you are starting to lose all control and destroy your entire life, you were prone to doing that already because you have to be mentally destroyed to not care at all any more.  I get it, casinos are addictive and pleasantly looking to attract you but I do not believe it has THAT much effect over the brain if the human is fine mentally.  But if somebody recently divorced his wife, the kids are not talking to them any more, they are homeless, they are doing really bad at their job and have no friends, what is left to lose?  They are already in a big mental hole.  Casinos, drugs, alcohol, they are now vulnerable to all of them.  And I may sound harsh but most of the time more than half of the fault is theirs for choosing the temporary comfort of drinking and gambling their life away rather than a permanent or at least a long term solution that will save them from what is worst.

I agree with you on that, and of course there's always a solution in whatever problems that comes our way as long as this life is concerned. The only reason why most people always find it very hard to quit probably when they find themselves gambling irresponsibly is due to the amount they have Lost ever since they started gambling, obviously I think this is one of the major reason why most of this addicted gamblers find it very hard to quit because they can decide to quit from gambling since they have been so unlucky to win, but when they think about their past loses At this point they will still want to continue to see if they can recover, this is why as a gambler is very good to let go off those loses which we have experienced before.

Well this type of advice has been repeatedly said but people still keep on getting addicted despite these control measures, while some people who adopt those method has stopped gambling addiction. So it depends on individual and how they take things seriously. If a person wan to get addicted, he will get addicted but if he doesn't want to get addicted he can also stop but the fact is that everyone can not be thesame when it comes to decision making. I know many people who set budget of the amount to bet weekly but still they get addicted.

Though, the tricky and also sad part of gambling addiction and seeking for help while being an addict is the fact most gamblers push away friends and family away from them with their behavior and their pursue of money.
Many of us have read stories on how a gambler steals from their family and friends in order to continue to gamble, if so, where the help is going to come from after damaging all their personal relationships in such a way?

Discipline and setting boundaries is the first solution to prevent yourself from even being addicted, when you start gambling and set some rules, stick to the rule and before you know it, you are already living by the discipline and there wouldn't be any chance for you to get addicted, because when you are deviating from your rules, you will easily realize yourself and do the right thing, some people that are really addicted today were just too ignorant.

A gambling addiction has no control. I will assure you of that. There's always that part of a gambler where he wants to deposit even though it's not necessary anymore. Even if he thinks that he is over the line, he will still deposit because the urge to do it over and over again will be there until he loses everything.

I can say that because I am halfway becoming a gambling addict, and all I want is to get my revenge and win back all the money that I lost. The thing that basically kept me from a gambling addiction was several years ago when I was a borderline addict I was one of those people who thought I was smarter than everyone else so of course I was going to come up with the genius system that nobody else has thought of.
