Yes, I agree with you. But there are other ways to scam people. Information is the real wealth. Now, scam calls and emails are very less in my area than before. But now, there are a lot of online scam click side shows. Which in my opinion seems more dangerous than calls or emails.

Scammers are very smart but I think most of them succeed because of the high level of unemployment that has increased suffering and hunger in the country, if it's not unemployment how will someone who doesn't have a job be willing to pay money to someone whom he haven't met for a job which he not sure of getting don't you think something is really not right? and if you look at the whole drama even the open vacancies one has to either have the connection in the inner chamber or you pay to get a slot that's why you always hear scammers used employment strategies in the local government or federal government to scam people because the number of unemployed people is bigger than the people who are employed in the country.

Exactly it's just part of what's making some persons fall scam victim because they don't have a choice but to try anything that appears like an opportunity to grab an employment in the civil service. Had a colleague who was dubbed #400k in the Rivers State civil service recruitment exercise that was supposed to have been concluded since 2023 if not for the political instability in the state that had to lead to that employment process being stalled and finally cancelled. He was promised a slot by an insider if he can pay #400k which he did just to secure a slot for his son, a graduate that has been unemployed since after university. Long story short, the present government cancelled the employment process after discovering some corrupt practices in the process, and that was how that colleague of mine lost that money which he couldn't get back because there was no formal written agreement. Scammers have been using this government agent trick for a very long time but I don't think people fall for that much, the most common way they scam people is bank swipe and it's annoying that this has been empathized countless times but people still act gullible to this. People are always told to never share their details over the phone with anyone not even a bank agent, and the bank agents running your account would never call you or ask for your ATM pin.
