New to the game, been running a Node forever but now patiently waiting for my NerdQaxe++ to arrive this weekend (pending the winter storm). Can't wait to get it up and going!

Home mining is still pretty fun even if it’s not very profitable anymore. For many people it’s more about learning and supporting the network. Small ASICs like Bitaxe or the Avalon Nano series are nice because they’re quiet and don’t use much power, so they can run at home without much hassle. If anyone wants to check estimated earnings for small miners, this site is helpful: https://www.asicminervalue.com/Curious though, are most people here pool mining or trying solo mining with these small devices? Some people run them solo just for the chance of hitting a block. There is always a chance , it might be slim to none . You can checkout the latest BTC Solo clocks found https://soloblocks.io/

I'll have a better chance of mining a block. But I'll have to spend a lot more on electricity.

I am thinking if it's possible to run the s19 on solar panels during the day, from morning till day break only, but what's the point of you can't run it through all day? A block won't tell if they plan to be solved in the day or night, this is why running all day is best. Using solar panels for solo mining isn't really worth it if your hardware is taking high wattage, you won't want to run such on your backup even if your panels can handle it. Smaller hardwares are best for solar mining, unless the person is very rich that they can spend thousands on better battery backup, it's going to cost alot.

I don't understand why you don't take into account the time and costs of maintenance. You can run an S19 ASIC with one board in energy-efficient mode from a regular outlet and not worry about running solo mining equipment. And if electricity is very expensive, then a regular government lottery gives you a better chance.

I'm running two bitaxes gamma and I love them! A compact, easy-setup, silent, low-power home miner .... all i need to have fun one mining at binance pool the other one trying luck at ckpool but watching the Best Difficulty stats: (6.36 G /0.0048%) ... I guess it's gonna take eons. https://www.talkimg.com/images/2026/05/10/UJju48.png

That's the dream. ⛏️

solo.mineshop.eu https://solo.mineshop.eu/#chartsPool Hashrate 5 PH/s solo.ckpool.org https://solo.ckpool.org/pool/Pool Hashrate 350-600 PH/s With this math, a 0% or 2% commission doesn't matter. The main question is where is the best place to mine? Opinions may differ, but I think it's better to mine on a pool with a lower hashrate and number of participants, but the overall chances are still very low.

Home mining is mostly a hobby now, but it’s still fun. Small ASICs are good for learning without too much noise, heat, or power cost. Profit is usually small, so I’d focus more on uptime, temps, and enjoying the setup.

Profit is usually small, so I’d focus more on uptime, temps, and enjoying the setup. Most home mining devices are very easy to set up and operate on a ‘set and forget’ basis. They aren’t particularly suitable for learning, except for teaching the very basics to beginners. Home mining rigs are significantly less cost-effective than industrial ones due to their weak cooling systems, which are designed to run quietly. That is why such devices are mainly used for solo mining.
