I could not really anticipate that the tariff issue was going to crash the market like this.
Now, hope for altcoin is really fading and BTC will only stay and go higher in my opinion..

I have never seen the possibility of the altcoins season as it is in our minds. It will always be BTC move and altcoins follow. But with the rate altcoins dumped, it might be difficult to see them hit their ATH again. Bitcoin can make a U-turn any moment and it is back to the bull phase.

Meanwhile, there's hope for altcoins on the long run. The effects of the US strategic reserve will play out. Xrp, sol, Ada, ether and others will flourish.

There simply isn't enough money and attention to pump almost everything like in 2017. We have like 3259382% more altcoins now — it would be delusional to expect to have a similar market compared to back then.

Also, we already had some sort of altcoin season — probably just not the altcoins you chose.

Most memecoins are pretty much close to dead already. It's just a minority like the likes of fartcoin are still up and somewhat bouncing bigly.

If altcoins didn't do a massive price as anticipated by you toward Feb/March, don't you think they will still do that massive price as Bitcoin will start to skyrocket any time soon before the end of the year?

The time you should be more scared about your invested altcoin is when you didn't invest in top coins. So long as you invest in them, you don't need to worry much because they will increase as Bitcoin leads the market in a price movement.

Memes is still remain the most prominent asset compared to the other sector such as gaming and AI sector. Yes, money is always shifting, but all of sectors are getting the same trend. It means people are prefer holding case these days.

The valuation from all of sectors in crypto are plunging so hard. It's kinda weird when you ssume money is starting moving away from meme. It should be correct if money is starting moving away from crypto, not meme.

This is understandable, not everyone makes as much profit as you imagine, and alts haven't been doing great lately, so you could have some doubt about it, this doesn't mean you are wrong, it just means you are doing what you should be doing.

If you could get to a better place, then you are going to end up with a ton of profit when the time comes. Waiting is 90% of crypto, because if you can wait long enough time then you are going to make a profit, most people do not wait long enough and that is why they make a loss. Understanding that holding or even "hodling" is the key to making a profit is the first thing newbies needs to learn. If they can learn that, then they are going to end up with a great return as long as they are capable of waiting.

Seconded. I was hoping for something similar to 2017 or early 2021 but I was dead wrong. Got hit hard and I've done away with that hopium. I think it only got harder and now we really have to do intense research in the "DYOR" department and walk to talk in order to pick the flowers from the weeds. It's just harder—not impossible.

Altcoin is like the bad money that people want to get rid of at time like this, basically unnecessary risk, so don't get your hopes too high, although there's news about some alts that will be included in strategic reserve, that doesn't mean we will see altcoin season.
I've personally already reduced my exposure in altcoin, but interested in doing reentry, because it seems we've hit the bottom though i'm not so sure.

Don't blame the meme and assume utility projects are being dumped because of it. Crypto is a speculative market and even more like a gambling, so wherever there is money flow and profit potential, investors will go there. Therefore, projects that are said to have many utilities but do not attract investors need to reconsider themselves.


Many people look down on memecoin but I think it has become an important part of the crypto market and has become part of the culture when it comes to crypto. So if anyone is expecting it to go away, I think they're going to be disappointed because it's not going to happen.

Only bitcoin is a reliable investment and worth holding for long term, the rest of the market whether top altcoins or memes...are all the same and unreliable.  They can disappear at any time without notice to you.

Because for now the market is getting more mature, the number of coins is increasing, liquidity is spread across thousands of assets. We used to only focus on the top 20, but now? Choose the wrong one, so liquidity runs out.

There was never any real hope for altcoins to fade away now. That's because 99% of them are completely useless and without any meaningful innovations that can get them into the real world. The only thing you could ever hope for were as it still is pump and dumps.

As for the altcoin season, I have to say the chances of it were never high because the recession that started 3 years ago due to NATO-Russian war has only gotten worse (even before the Tariff War) and recession is a preventing forces for bitcoin's rise. And when there is no long bitcoin bull market, there is no newbies coming in to also invest in altcoins. Therefore no altcoin pumping season...

Well we can do that but it but it does not mean it is not a real thing still. Altcoin season is something all us investors hodl our coins and we wait for it to come back.
When price of Bitcoin does go up then the alts will go up with that. We will have an other alt coin season we just need to hodl and do not worry about price of coins right now.

The truth is none of us know how the rest of this year is going to go.

You might have lost hope but I still think there will be altseason. It may not be as big as 2021 but i still think we will see many altcoins 10x from current prices and that will be good enough for me.

All we can do is wait and hope once all this tariff mess is sorted out that we can have some good news like rate cuts etc and have crypto and stocks pumping again like we saw end of last year.

I have been getting very bored of it all lately to be honest but I am not selling these lows, just holding and waiting patiently for Bitcoin to start heading towards $100k again.
