How to reported post, and status

If you report a post, how do you know it's progressing, whether it's resolved, or not? Mods can see your mail. Don't you deserve the right to even know the reason for acting on the report (if action took place)?

Also, how long does it take to take action on a post? (Any max duration?)

It's up to moderator who is reponsible for that board or global moderator who see that report. Not max duration for handling reports and some reports are unhandled.

If you feel you can not wait or see unhandled result is not accurate, let's re report that post.

I've been really meaning to update this so it's not got all the broken images, and update some of the content from what I've learned over the years. Also, just adding a lot more content to it. Soon^TM.

Could there be users who might report but won't because of this?, I mean if you're a mod then it doesn't really matter the user reporting the post should know, you're hired to work on reports, user knows or won't it doesn't really matter tbh.

Honestly? Probably. theymos could remove it if they deemed it urgent enough. However, I still think some sort of incentive other than helping the community, because it's a fairly thankless task (thank you to all the reporters out there). I would've loved to see the reporter badges that theymos hinted at possibly implementing at some point

mprep did a great job at implementing it via userscript with the limited amount of data they had, however it doesn't really satisfy the gamification that a lot of people love, and get motivation from if the badges don't show up on your profile or next to posts to the masses.

I have seen users with ridiculous numbers that makes my almost 100 successful report seem like child's play
They really do deserve such a badge.
I think it would be better if it's first available to people that meets the criteria before implementation to prevent abuse.
I won't be surprised if some individuals purposely create accounts
To farm reports.
It would be great seeing it on individuals that did it thanklessly maybe above a thousand report.

I'm assuming this is one of the factors theymos has delayed it, might be wrong there though. I know they suggested they ran into a few hiccups when it came to implementing it. However, theymos seems to be very conscious when implementing things to the forum, so I'd bet a decent amount of money that they've already considered ways of dealing with report farming or if not report farming, the influx of reports this would likely generate which I assume would cause a decent amount of workload on inaccurate reports.

I really don't think how people will get benefit by creating many farm accounts, make shitposts, and use their main account just to farm reports. Reporter badge if implmented won't bring too much extra benefit for accounts with reporter badge. I consider it is like Forum art contest badge, Pizza contest badge, or it can be a little bit more valuable, but not much more than that.

theymos answered to community question on why he did not implement the badge.

It's pretty easy to add a new badge and manually (or automatically) assign it to people, but with the reporter badge I didn't originally consider that people might reasonably want to opt-out of having the badge. Adding that functionality is a bit more difficult. Maybe sometime in 2020.

I also don't want the left side of threads to look like a rainbow explosion, so I probably won't add too many additional badges, either.
