It is possible when you already have learned about bitcoin in another platforms or websites before you joined in the forum. I have seen newbies that does have knowledge about bitcoin. So it's not always what you have said when someone joined in the forum although there are some people who really don't have knowledge about bitcoin who found this forum and started from being a newbie until he/she gains vast knowledge about cryptocurreny.

Yes, even a new member may have knowledge about Bitcoin when he joins the forum. Just because a person is new to the forum does not mean that he cannot have knowledge. Some people come to the forum to learn who initially have no knowledge about Bitcoin, but very soon many of them educate themselves or make themselves knowledgeable with their own hard work. OP is a person who has learned the forum very quickly and honed his knowledge (made available from the comments of others). He has even contributed a lot to the forum community or especially to the development of our Naija board with his knowledge.

But through the food contest you have hosted for the past two years of joining the community has also given you a lift to grow very faster to a point of applying a merit source to our local board.

@smartgold honestly you should try to speak out your mind and not hid them in words. The forum is a free platform, no one is going to bite anyone. I actually don't expect any of both applicants to be on a competition. I still remember the Op @Miachloe being already in his 800 or more merits, if I'm not mistaken before he hosted those contest on our lb. such member literally to me would do quite well in earning even more if he had not hosted such a wonderful event. You both hosted amazing contest on the lb which we are all grateful.

Trying to point out such makes no sense at all.. let's all be moderate here at least, everyone expects a merit source applicant to act like one, which I'm expecting from both @SmartGold and @Miachloe

I have never seen this kind of drama in merit source application threads before especially from their own local board members. Being a merit source is a prestigious title, however, finding quality posts to merit is not as easy as it looks from the outside and can attract resentment from people who feel entitled to merits like Fillippone had experienced quite recently.

Wait a minute - what are they both fighting over, is it the one that will eventually be chosen as the merit source?
I don't fully understand and know why theymos haven't chosen a new merit source from all application - but the temporary benefit is that all users who submit application get proper support from the community in the form of merit and other support, including users from their own local. This can help them distribute it to other users - but really, a new merit source is more desirable.

Sure - I hope so, but there are a lot of pending applications and we never know when theymos will review them and make one of them a new merit source. But did you know - in the last month, Nigeria's local board has had some great merit statistics. They are ahead of Turkey, behind Russia and Germany in the merit ranking in March. There were at least 1006 merit circulating on the Nigerian local board during March, from 139 senders to 132 recipients.

I agree with you on this but like I said earlier about Mia Chloe's statement being unnecessary, you'd agree with me that she made it as a result of observation. This is not some competition where you'd get picked depending on how fast you apply but it then looked as if SmartGold was calling out her competition. I may be wrong but I rarely see women coming to apply as merit sources and so when this drama came up, it was something you could easily ignore but the matter just needed to be addressed so both parties would be clear.
 I think this is just happening the way it is because both sides haven't had the chance to try this thing before and this is their first time do they feel it's something to fight over. With time, these two will not even remember that they clashed over something as trivial as merit source application.(I guess).

Mia Chloe has been an active member of the Nigerian local board, and she is one of the members who has impacted the Nigerian local board in a meaningful way, which a lot of Nigerian local board members have benefited from, including myself. Out of Mia Chloe's generosity, she single-handedly hosted a contest on two occasions in a festive period, which helped the Nigerian local board become lively. Mia Chloe is a quality poster, and I believe she has the eye for identifying quality posts. I give her my full support in her quest to become a merit source because she is qualified, and she will be a good merit source who will distribute her merit allocation accordingly.

Mia Chloe is someone I respect and admire so much in our local board. He is someone who is so dedicated in making sure that the local board moves forward. I remember the first contest I participated in our local board was organised by him. And he is someone who always makes efforts in seeing that things are done orderly in the local board. Since the Nigerian local board is expanding here in the forum, I see the need why Mia Chloe merit application should be approve. He is a good person, and he always embrace everybody in the local board without segregation. Should his application be approved, I am sure he will make sure that merits are distributed to deserving posts of the Nigerian local board.

I support Mia Chloe's merit source application, he is an active member in this forum and his quality posts speaks for itself that he can identify quality posts. I believe that if his application is considered and accepted his merit source will help to bridge the gap in giving merit to quality posts that other merit sources could not give. Nigerian local is very active and I see posts that deserves to be rewarded with merit but they are not probably because the merit sources don't have enough to give every deserving posts. I look forward to seeing Mia Chloe, among the merit source so that every quality posts will have a higher chance of being given merit.

I met Mia on this forum a while back and I was grateful to find out that she is a very friendly person; well mannered; and also a good contributor. I also remember seeing her name mentioned by Coin-1 as well in his topic announcing rank ups and I was glad each time I saw her name there

Of course, these are personal attributes, which have nothing to do with the requirements of being a merit source. But if she will be selected, I believe it will be nice to have a very friendly person among our merit sources.

She involved a lot inside the forum and I also hoped to see her joining AOBT at some point.

Now talking about her application for becoming merit source, I think it will be a good decision and I hope theymos will approve her application. I believe in her skills and talent to find posts worth of being merited; and, perhaps, also the ones which were not spotted by others.
