I created a fun project with LN support. This idea is definitely not original, and I’ve seen it in various versions several times before. I’ve been a big fan of Bitcoin since 2017. Lately, I’ve been thinking about how the Lightning Network could be used, and this project came to mind.

On the website https://www.satoshipixelgrid.com/, there is a drawing canvas with dimensions of 10,000 x 10,000. That means the usable area contains 100,000,000 pixels. One pixel represents 1 Satoshi. Thanks to LN, you can instantly buy even a single pixel—which wouldn’t have been possible just a few years ago.

You can use the canvas to create various shapes, artworks, logos, texts—anything you like. Once you buy pixels like this, they remain on the site permanently, and no one can take them away from you.

Someone tries something like this every year or so.  If you don't maintain a constant sales volume, you will not renew the domain you registered for just one year.   "Permanently"

Oh, I see, Vod... You are assuming it seems, I expect probably correctly, that the canvas is not implemented as "Ordinals" or whatever those on-the-blockchain pixels are called.

Do domain registrars that one can reasonably expect to stay in business for decades offer more than ten year registrations?

Surely it makes more sense overall to implement the pixels on the blockchain if anything approaching "permanence" is hoped for or intended?

You're right. In this context, using the word "Permanently" probably isn't ideal. The option to inscribe pixels as "Ordinals" is interesting, and I'll definitely look into the implementation. But I'm concerned about the fees. Right now, someone can buy even a single pixel for 1 satoshi. Inscribing to the blockchain via Ordinals would only make sense with a larger quantity. But it's definitely not a dealbreaker, and I really like this approach

I don't think anyone spending a satoshi on advertising wants proof of blockchain.   My observation is more simple - more direct - the domain will go offline in less than a year because it was not created as a long term project.

You shouldn't charge for the pixels unless it is clear they are only temporary and will vanish when you get bored.   Also, this is not a developing project - you should move it to services.

I've seen this many times before, but the format is advertising type. Vod is right; you should extend the domain for at least 3 years to attract people.
Compared to the past grid-type platforms, what unique features does your platform have compared to all the past grid platforms?
Honestly, I am having a hard time checking those grids that have been occupied. It's better that you create a video tutorial on how to use your platform as an example.
A video tutorial, extension of the domain, and the right marketing strategy, and you have a chance to fill those grids and succeed where many fail with this type of platform.
