You don't have to change it, you can just mark it as hidden. Why? It's obvious the domain doesn't exist, let those bots knock themselves out.

I think that it really worth to get answer from theymos about whether the existence of this website (thecodeforum.com, great domain though) has a meaning or not because if his basic code is heavily modified, then the existence of codetheforum has no idea and if it's not heavily modified, then it worth the shot. By the way, I would also love to know how are we gonna get protected from viruses? Wouldn't it be better to make it work like, at first we saw the code and then we will decide whether to visit the website or not (but the open-source code should match the website's code). If I say something that doesn't make sense, pardon me, I'm not a good developer

I've said this several times already over the years but I disagree with this sentiment; the reason being I can't help but think that when people come to visit the forum to read old posts by satoshi, Hal, and a handful of others, they want to see them in the same format in which they were written. It adds to the historical-ness of the forum. Souping them up & making them "fancy" kinda undermines this aspect. However, it could still be possible to offer two viewing modes: "classic" and "new", or whatever.
For me, satoshi's posts are the bedrock of what makes the forum special. That's why I don't really want to see the format/layout too altered from how it was in 2009-2011.
This is another reality. I think the people who are most bothered by this type of layout are the new generations who are not used to it. But the forum layout ends up taking us back to the origin of Bitcoin, and keeps us in this historical context in the continuity of time. Many say that it could be better adapted to mobile devices. Well, I'm gradually starting to disagree. Yes, it could be more responsive, but it's also not that difficult to use on a smartphone. Lately, I've been accessing the forum via smartphone and frankly I don't see anything that complicated. Do I have to keep zooming in all the time? Yes, I do, but it doesn't hurt to open and close my fingers on the screen. In fact, it even ends up being practical when writing posts in English, with my smartphone keyboard doing the automatic translation.

Then you should entirely block the registration, or make it more centralized, like "you can register only if you have an invitation". Because now, everyone can register and write posts.
I'm giving devs a SMF 1.1.19 forum playground. It's without modifications they'll decide how they want to use their forums. I think that it really worth to get answer from theymos about whether the existence of this website (thecodeforum.com, great domain though) has a meaning or not because if his basic code is heavily modified, then the existence of codetheforum has no idea and if it's not heavily modified, then it worth the shot.
He must've noticed the topic. By the way, I would also love to know how are we gonna get protected from viruses? Wouldn't it be better to make it work like, at first we saw the code and then we will decide whether to visit the website or not (but the open-source code should match the website's code). If I say something that doesn't make sense, pardon me, I'm not a good developer If dev's are interested they'll get a forum to test code. They'll study requests by users or use their imagination to make features. If users say they'd like to use the features they'll ask theymos to patch it for bitcointalk. He'll decide if it's going to be patched.

Cool idea.
Also, it's probably worth sharing this with the Altcointalk admin (he's repeatedly promised to start changing the forum and this tool would probably help him do it faster).

Lately, I've been accessing the forum via smartphone and frankly I don't see anything that complicated. The main problem I have with phones, is the lack of keyboard. No forum software is going to change that. There are always those Bluetooth keyboards, which could do. But, it really wouldn't be very practical to walk around with a keyboard behind. Well, you can always get those phones from the 2000s that had a keyboard. They are even more forum-style.

Thanks I'll share it with them. If they're interested I'll add their version of SMF to Codetheforum so devs can experiment there. Cool idea.

Developers haven't contacted me to get access to a test forum. If you're a coder I'll give access to a forum to test modifications you'd like to see in bitcointalk. If they're cool features users can ask admin if they'll add the patch.
I've added Arabic translation link. If you're interested in translating for your language I'll put the link in the translation list. Thanks.

Lately, I've been accessing the forum via smartphone and frankly I don't see anything that complicated. The main problem I have with phones, is the lack of keyboard. No forum software is going to change that. My iPhone 6s had the best mobile keyboard. I could effortlessly type replies on that thing, even faster than a few laptop keyboards. These days it feels that smartphones becoming taller and thinner just makes it feel more awkward to type on - too many wrong words where I have to interrupt my train of thought to autocorrect something, and sometimes it insists on inserting an incorrect spelling of a word.

I've migrated Code The Forum to a new host on 6XCPU 3GB RAM with NVMe SSD. It's on more resourceful cloud but I've noticed it doesn't like Tor browser. If you're using Tor browser it's pages won't always open. I'm hosting other sites they're facing Tor browser problems so I'm thinking about migrating back.

The new server blocked tor browser so I've migrated back to the hosting company. It's on 2XCPU 2GB RAM with NVMe SSD so it'll run many testing forums simultaneously & support large testing visitor traffic.

I've made codetheforum.com for devs to test code they'd like to see in bitcointalk.org. Devs haven't contacted me but the Forum1's been busy with visitors having fun. They aren't the type I wanted

Devs haven't contacted me Anyone can run any service, on top of 127.0.0.1. It is easier, and more convenient in many cases, when it comes to writing code locally. They aren't the type I wanted It is quite obvious, that things will be spammed, if they won't be moderated. That's why I told you to block registration, if you think that random users shouldn't post anything there. So, to sum up: I am happy, that you are trying to push things forward, but I think making sites like yours is not going to make it. If someone would really want to develop any new features, then that developer would first do everything locally on its own PC, and would think about hosting later, when things will be done. And even in that case, there is no need to rent any hosting, if the full code can be shared on GitHub, or anywhere else, and released package could allow running it locally by anyone. Another thing is that many features can be made as browser extensions. Then, no hosting is needed at all, just a browser, and some plugin, which would extend bitcointalk directly, without trying it locally. Also, a given plugin can use local storage if needed, and then, things could be integrated with bitcointalk from the start, instead of being first developed on some random server, and then migrated there.

If devs use github or localhost they won't show their work with out a website. How will they show their work. If they want other ppl to test the site for feedback they'll have to arrange hosting. I know it's easy to buy hosting I'm trying to save time for devs by uploading forum templates. If my site isn't going to make it I'll say I tried I won't be sad.

How will they show their work. In the same way as they do it today: by writing plugins for browsers. Then, existing servers can be used, and users can see sites like bitcointalk with additional extensions, which are not available by default. If they want other ppl to test the site for feedback they'll have to arrange hosting. Why should they worry about maintaining their own servers, instead of reusing existing ones?

If you're using browser plugins to look at a website it's extreme. If users like me don't want to use browser plugins to look at websites why shouldn't ppl look at them by using their web browsers ? If it's for codetheforum any web browser's perfect. If devs want space to test forum code & mods it's available free of charge. How will they show their work. In the same way as they do it today: by writing plugins for browsers. Then, existing servers can be used, and users can see sites like bitcointalk with additional extensions, which are not available by default.
