Interesting enough Trump could have avoided all this discussion with just a simple word "yes".
After all, he sworn to uphold the constitution of the United States when he was officially inaugurated.

And yet, I don't understand what Trump is trying to get out of this by avoiding to explicitly say he will uphold and protect the constitution. He has nothing to win out making people to believe he is going to use power to become a tyrant or something similar. As if he does not even care to hide anything anymore.

it is not his job to personally be a lawyer and judge and jury to adjudicate every constitutional dispute, not within his ability
it is his job and within his ability to ensure that there are judges, lawyer and jury available and funded by the treasury, and managed by the DoJ who do the adjudicating of cases where the constitution is in dispute

Note that there are several legal definitions of United States and America. Depending on the definition used, there are different results in the courts. When a man expresses in court that he is a man and not a person or defendant, the definition that is used for United States or America changes. thats the whole point of hearings and trials, to provide all that in the courts process - There are statements of fact and conclusions of law for the court to even exist in the first place. If court judges and magistrates act in a certain way, that's when it may be advantageous to get their statements of fact and conclusions of law.

For example, a judge may ask your name. There is no law that says you have to place yourself under his authority by telling him. That's why it is a good idea to have some people with you to record the judge's activities and check them for legality.

The best way might be to have about 30 of your people go to court with you. Then, when you demand the judge to be right with you in some way, if he isn't/doesn't, 25 of the thirty can later form a grand jury and indict the judge. After all, judges are not kings. They have to act legally, too.

Trump was simply being honest. Some of the Constitution can be set aside by contracting of people with government. There is law that states that it cannot all be set aside. So, people always have the right to 'redeem' their freedom.

If you are caught twice, you should be given a long prison sentence before your deportation. It's one of the ways he tests the waters whenever he wants to do something off book. He addresses not forgetting The Constitution (and God) in his January inaugural address, which anyone who watches Fox News would find inspiring   -->me: not so much ;-/
