Inquiry about deleted thread

I have an inquiry to make about a thread which was deleted. I started a couple of threads to announce our service rebrand and I beleive I made them in the appropriate sections. One in Services and another in Service announcement (altcoins). I just noticed that the one in the altcoin section was deleted and I cannot tell why as there are very similar threads which are still up there and have been for a long time.

I planned to put the thread up again but did not want to cross the moderators. I am asking if that board is not the place to promote our service and where else in the altcoin section we can do that?

You seem to have broken rule number 12. The two threads, as I can see from the deleted one, were the same, which is against the forum rules; if it had been translated and posted in the local board, it might not have been deleted.

12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting topics in the local language boards if they're translated and re-posting marketplace topics in the altcoin boards if altcoins are accepted).

The rules are not selectively enforced; there are usually no exceptions as far as I know. It's either that your thread has been reported to moderators by someone or members who noticed it, which makes the moderator notice it over the others, or the moderator/moderators in charge are handling it one after the other.

If you see any post breaking forum rules, you can use the report to moderators option and let them decide.

You can understand how confusing it is to us that threads which has been up for several years is still up, in plain sight on the first page, but that of just a few days is deleted.

I would not want to do that. It makes sense to us for a service that offers crypto services to want to be in both service announcement sections for a bigger reach. I would not want to start reporting other threads to get them down.

I just need a mod to help out, so we know it is okay to put our thread back up.

Just as the first user had said, rules in the forum ain't selectively applied by the forum moderators even though it's a thing of discretion in certain situations when they have to delete certain posts especially for a duplicate posts as that of yours.

Perhaps, you should check through the posts of those other brands you claim have duplicate threads in different boards and isn't deleted and identify what may have led to their thread not deleted like yours was. There might be something you ain't doing right just yet.

It's a great you're following the rules of the forum, endeavour you continue to.

Apart from it being a duplicate thread, does the thread in question or the service you are offering have something to do with altcoin? If the thread or the service has nothing to do with altcoin, then it doesn't belong on the altcoin announcement thread.

Also, from the looks of it, the service you are offering is related to marketing and really is not altcoin related.

All you have to do just go through the rules of the forum before doing anything so that you won't keep breaking the rules without even noticing it because I believe that yoy where not aware that you were breaking one of the rules in this forum . You where able to figure out due to this thread you recently created .

No one have any thing against you for advertising your business here but do it without going against the rules of the forum. , like avoiding duplicating of threads . You can try focusing in one thread first for the ads then if you can keep the thread active without breaking the rules then you good  go .

It doesn't work the way you presented it. If you report any post breaking the forum rules, see it that you are helping or contributing in keeping the forum sane, don't see it that you want to bring that person or the project down. You also need to know that reporting doesn't mean you (the reporter) are right. You can actually make a bad report and it would be marked as bad. So, your report is just a pointer to the moderator who decides on the case.

I just dropped a report for one in service announcement (altcoin). I beleive you are able to directly see my reports without needing to highlight any thread here.

When making a post about a particular service, you cant have it made on multiple boards, which was the reason why your post was deleted as some members already highlighted out, now here is a clew for you in case of something related to that, you can on another thread only reference the first one through the link and not that you completely post the same content on another board.

Nwada001 has said it all. What you were like doing was a copy and pasting your original post from it primary residing board to others which breaks the rule 12 likely a direct spamming which is known to be annoying and disruptive where you posts a particular content repeatedly.
So if you see others similar related threads as yours existing in different boards, that should be of different posters or likely that the Moderator hasn't come across it yet but if you feel cheated, you can report such posts to the moderator then watch to see the action.

Will Xal0lex see your report or those posts? I’m not sure; Xal0lex is a moderator but not a global one. Neither is he/she assigned to any of those boards. If you have done the reporting, then the mods in charge of the board will definitely see through it, and if it breaks the forum rules, it will be handled. But if you want Xal0lex to have a look at them, you will have to make provisions for the link to those similar threads here.

Since you don't have the minimum of 300 good reports, you can't see your report history, but you may be able to figure out whether your report was marked as good or not. Click on "Report to moderator" below any post you want and you will see a message saying "You have reported x posts with x accuracy (x good, x bad, x unhandled)."

There is no doubt that's also against rule number 12.
I see both of the topics have been locked and that was probably done by moderators.

These are pretty old topics, so the moderators may ignore your report. As a general rule, forum rule violations older than 6 months are not considered.

If you try to report a topic or post older than 6 months, you will get this warning on the report page:

Old post: We generally do not moderate posts this old for on-topicness, substantiveness, multi-posting, and other "cleanliness" issues.

Thank you for your reply, but this kind of suggests that the rules are selectively applied and some threads are allowed to break it for such a long time that they can now do that freely. How I see it, an old post rule should work for a reply buried several pages into a thread or a thread buried several pages down in a board. Not one which is on the first page.

I also do not want my report to be acted on, neither do I want the thread deleted, I just want to be able to put my thread back up.

I see both of the topics have been locked and that was probably done by moderators.

I do not think that is the case, but I would not want that thread to become the subject of the conversation, I only highlighted it cause most of the replies were asking for an example.

If you post an identical double in any other section of the forum, it is highly likely to be deleted.

If it is that efficient, how does several threads go under the radar for several months and years without getting deleted while breaking the rule?

This is really baffling to me and I am sure it will be to any new member to see rules get applied to you while you can clearly see it not being applied to older members.

I will probably just edit out the current one in services and redirect to the new one I will create in altcoin section, I slightly prioritize it there. I hope that does not break any other rule.
