Betting on Moneyline - underdog or favorites?

Underdogs. I am that type. I like high-risk betting, and I'd rather take the high profits too, rather than get a win of x1.10 - x1.25, which everybody thinks is a sure win. It's not! The one who put it there doesn't really know the results of the game because they do not have the crystal ball to say so. Underdogs have the same chance of winning the game because they are also professionals. (That's if we are betting on a pro game.)

I don't like losing, but I am also not happy winning at small odds, so I'd rather pick the underdogs. One win could give you 3-4 more times to bet, and it's so satisfying to win such games.

Betting on the favorite for me is the best way, most of the time the underdog has lost, at least that's what I've observed since I entered this world of sports betting. What do you mean? Seems like extra steps to me. The favorites and the underdogs are determined by the public, sports analysts, and bookmakers. It is also based on recent performances so you can just look at those and see which ones are the favorites.

Yeah, that's the consequence for doing so. You get to have a good stats because they're mostly going to win but the balance, it's not a lot at all. So, if someone who bets with the favorites, they know this as well but if they have some spare to risk for the underdogs, that's not a bad strategy too.

To be honest, 1.30 is still fine just not to skip or miss that game if you truly like it. But yeah, basically it's quite low and many would skip on that part if that's the odd of the match.

I believe that's what was meant by favorites; the most likely team to win a match. I do not always like betting on the team I support, I more often than not will hedge a bet against them, so either way, I got something to cheer at the end of the game.

I don't do this often, but I like to take a chance on a few underdogs. I think it's better than going all in. I usually make a few bets like this every couple of weeks or so, and I have to admit I've been right on a fair few of them.

I think is obvious that underdogs teams normally wins by luck, so betting them everytime might seems quite harmful to a gambler. Their winnings always comes when we don't expect, so that is while is not available for a gambler to put hope on underdogs teams. Although sometimes our favorite teams normally disappoint, but even as that I think is always it's essential for us to understand that playing our own part in gambling before relying on luck, increase your chances of winning.

Well, in my opinion, If the underdog teams looks promising like the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Indiana Pacers at the beginning of the playoffs, then betting on the underdog through moneyline will become interesting. Obviously, because you placed a bet for lesser amount which can potentially doubled or even tripled when the underdog came out victorious.
The Wolves was +160 and just the recently concluded series the Pacers were +375. Both underdog teams came out victorious. So, there you go, just a perfectly good example that just happened in the 2025 NBA playoffs.
I guess, this year's playoffs is a perfect time to bet on the underdogs. The outcome are pretty much unpredictable.

If you are trying out to make money with betting then you would definitely be that trying out to stick with those favorites but since there's no such thing about sure bet or sure win on betting then there's always that those chances about those upsets or underdogs winning and this is where some bettors do make out some good odds on hitting up those bets but of course this isnt something that very common to happen because we do know that those odds wont be that putting up on obviously on whose a better player/team and book makers are running up a business. Therefore in regarding about choosing up on underdogs on which it will be that situational because there are just that those times or moments that you do feel out that there's an upset to happen. In regarding out on whose you would be having to choose then it will be that up to you but make it sure that on the best tht you have put up on which this is something that you wont be that having those regrets and thats the good thing rather than on having those kind of intuitive calls or voices into your mind about betting it out. Yeah, that's like one bet hitting more times with the small odds with the favorites. But for someone who's up for making money with gambling, I don't think that they'll let it pass and ignore the potential wins even with the favorites and small odds. If that's what they are going to chase, they might also still get some money but yes, it won't be a lot. We want lesser effort and more thrill and so that comes with the underdogs and that's where the real gambling comes and there won't be any problems at all if those bets happen to win.

For me, I prefer betting on favorites to win but I don't choose anyhow odds I make a selection of 1.96 and 2 odds above to win. Once in a while I do bet on underdogs when I want to chase big wins with little money.

Anyone that feel like waste more money on betting can benon underdogs and lose more amount of money. The way the betting sites are setting the odds neither make underdog nor good clubs to favour someone while betting. Any bet can be a lost bet. One thing about bet is that you can take the underdog to win but it may draw while the chance is low.

I may agree with you, because in boxing you no exactly the strength of the person that's going to fight another person, so if you predict on such you might get it accurately, so I believe that anyone who watches boxing always will know that the strength of the two parties, the predictions of boxing is more visible to see than the predictions of soccer game, in soccer game, players may perform very well this season and in next season they might not perform as expected, because of Change or selling of players to another club, so I prefer boxing predictions because we watch and know the strength of the boxer

When I'm betting strategically I always go with betting on favorites to win, there's always a reason why the underdogs are given such high value odd... it's because the odds are not in favour of them to win and betting on them would be very risky..but it sometimes turns out that the underdogs are always underestimated and they end up winning in some cases..But as a gambler that's trying to be careful I'd bet on the favorites.

Well it's better betting on a favorite team than the underdog, most times one is more sure of the favorite team compared to underdog. It's very risky betting on the underdog and since their odd are very much higher and the betting site knows that the chances of winning could be very hard that is why it's better on betting on the favorite team except for those that are easily attracted by higher odds maybe after doing their analysis they may decide to choose the underdog with higher odds.

Everything totally depends on you. Yes, you the gambler -- you gotta know yourself in a way that you can decide what's best for you, and still not rely too much on any external suggestions. Betting on the underdogs is literally the hardest forms of gambling as you'll need to first develop balls of steel, perseverance for the same negative results most of the times, patience to break the streak, but overall -- money to fund every single bet you make, without getting yourself indebted.

However, if I sense the possibility of an underdog winning and bet on it and win, it gives me great joy and excitement, the joy of such a result is different, but it is something I experience very rarely. I usually proceed with the favorites.

Betting on underdog teams also provides great profit, so you get many times more than the bets you make on the favorites, so it is a good thing to get the underdog prediction right.
