Will the Metaverse Ever Become Real?

The Metaverse gained popularity when Facebook—now Meta—started talking about it and even rebranded the company. It’s such a cool concept on paper, but turning it into reality is clearly not easy. We’ve seen glimpses of projects, especially in gaming, that try to implement Metaverse-like ideas, but they haven’t always been consistent—or maybe I’m wrong. Honestly, I’m starting to think the Metaverse won’t become a full reality, at least not for a few more years.

That said, upcoming gaming projects like MapleStory are integrating virtual worlds into their gameplay, giving players more control and a more immersive experience. It’s a great concept, but can it really thrive and survive in tough market conditions?

I haven’t played the game myself since I haven’t been able to access the test phase. Has anyone else?

To me, gaming projects aren't necessarily bad. I once invested in two and they did yield a good ROI, so I sold immediately. Concerning the MapleStory you mentioned, I'll check it out because it definitely has a connection with $NXPC, the project I'm currently holding. I got some allocation from the airdrop, and after depositing and locking it, I received more.

Why don't you mentioned igaming as the major propeller of the metaverse craze instead calling on face adoptions of a new name meta, to be the reason for the hype around metaverse sometimes ago?
Metaverse was also a hype just like web3 projects and the AI projects, although there is a bit difference in all of the mentioned hype's, but one thing is a common characteristics of all of them and that is hype crazy hypes around them when the first come into the space.

Once it comes to science, research and technology, we should not underestimate the ability to what people can perform or develop, because if we can get to this stage we are in the world, with all manners of technological developments, then anything is possible in life as long as they are determined to do them, we may only give it a more little time to emancipate, but truly we are getting there, because metaverse is now trending and coming more bigger as we go more deeper in its technologies.

Metavaverse can be a user friendly far closer to us and the technology is cheaper and it will be massive, now it is still very expensive and only a few people are willing to spend money to try such things in the world, meaning that this technology has not been distributed very well to the layer of society.

My theory will only be an alternative game if in the gaming world but will become innovative if done by office workers and also remote workers, meetings and others can be done using this technology to be more communicative.

The only problem with metaverse is that there's no urgency to use it, basically it's just overcomplicated games, the potential of metaverse was tapped during pandemic and unfortunately people eventually got bored and leave it.
I think if metaverse can tap into the potential of augmented reality, then there's a chance that there will be a huge success, as of now, metaverse in crypto space are highly driven by incentives, not because it actually has use.

It only needs a highlight from a huge company that's known to either industries of tech and gaming. If one of them actually uses it based on how they get revenue, for sure that there will be a movement. I think that the best company to do this is meta, they've released those goggle VRs, I don't know what they call it but they can leverage on that and market it that their office workers are using it already for their tasks and jobs assigned to them. It will be a huge hit especially after falling to the Libra project that they have to call its abandonment.

It's only a kind of marketing trick. I only remind you to never fall into this cheap trick.

As for how long the game can exist, the answer is simple. As long as there will be users, the game will exist. That's it.

No. If you are hard working and living a full life which includes sports, hobbies, friends and family, then you barely have time to spare for anything. Do you want to connect to some fake virtual world for hours too, just so big companies like Meta can farm your data and get rich from your free time? Even if you like the idea of virtual reality and such games, you should not do this. Have some dignity for gods sake.

Virtual reality stuff is not that good in general either, let alone a full metaverse. VR is mostly still a gimmick. Until there is full immersion like shown in some movies, it will remain a gimmick.

It's so funny that people who are investing into these projects, do not end up with sharing images from the "metaverse" inside itself. That should tell you all you need to know about any metaverse project we have in the world. Things that do not even exist, things that make no sense for most cases, and we are reaching to a point where we are not making enough at all to even keep it going for most of them.

So believe me, if there was ever a real project, it would make some money, but we have none and it is not making any leeway neither, they all look terrible and will continue to do terrible as long as they do not have a real metaverse to show, not just some trailer, I mean a real gameplay that people can actually go in and show us what it looks like.

Yeah, but we're talking about metaverse here. In fact, blockchain market never worked for the metaverse since the hype of metaverse already gone a few years ago. Just a few weeks after OP created this thread, look at how deep NXPC has gone.
