Anyway, do you bet on esports? Do you see yourself trying out betting on esports or you want to just stick with traditional sports?

Whatever I feels I am not that familiar with I wouldn't dare go close to it even though we have that tendency of learning at least we should go for that which we know very well. Sport betting or traditional way of betting is that known and are is most used, people can get used to eSport but that doesn't mean it would have to redefined the way of gambling as people would still want to still feel that body movement seeing real players and having that fun when or wherever they are gathered watching the live matches.

People are already closely involved with betting on cybersports, and it is becoming more and more widespread every time. In general, making an analogy with ordinary sports - it is certainly not the same, not the same bet and not the same excitement, it is the same as spinning roulette, because today this cyber athlete reacted badly to something and it affected the whole game, so betting on such events is extremely risky, there is no analysis as such

Of course it wouldn't be the same as what they feel especially those who loves having real fun without any need of jeopardizing it. It's mostly reflective as that of having virtual games where you feel no sense of reality rather to be automated, where results could be randomly given out.
When you watch a real life game you have the exciting moments.

Absolutely not, I dont bet on eSports and I am fascinated when I see people
betting on these in my local betting shop.

I ask myself, why do people do it? surely there are real sports on at that moment
which can be bet on?

Do these people not realise those eSports have to be rigged or at least the casino
knows the outcome but the bettor doesnt. It would be interesting to know if anyone
won some big payouts on a winning bet on these eSports?

I am in a stage of my life as a bettor in which I rather to stick to traditional sports instead of venturing into the world of esports, since I have little information about the teams and the leagues/tournaments which are played around the world. I have knowledge on the games which are competitive and the magnitude of those events which are played by professional teams and players, but they are way too small when compared to the size and volume of bets which is generated by classic sports, like baseball, basketball and soccer/football...
It would take anyone hours and hours of research before feeling comfortable enough to put money at stake into a branch of betting which was previously unknown by them.

Also, I don't think betting on esport is more profitable than betting on traditional sports. Otherwise, there would be more people moving onto Dota2, counter strike and other games, instead of focusing on Traditional sports.

In esports, there could be higher risk of cheating and manipulation during the games since there are much more technology available for that. In terms of betting profitability, the esport space even though has been growing massively does not seem to compare to the fanbase of traditional sports just yet

This reminds me of cheating incidents that have happened in Esports tournaments and from what I remember, the majority of the cheating happened on FPS games from and yes, from what I have read, Esports betting has been growing over the years and currently it is now a multi billion-dollar industry.

I have bet on esports, but rarely in almost the same way I rarely bet on sports, but between the two, I have bet more on sports than Esports over the years.

Well, I'm not fond of eSports, and on the one hand, I can't call them real sports either, but I understand they're a form of "online" sports. Whether we like it or not, the world is changing and so is gambling and the definition of sports. I personally never watched and thus, I've never placed a bet on any. I was never interested in the first place and I'll doubt I'll ever be. Perhaps in the near future, they might become more popular and I'll have to reconsider, who knows?

I'll personally stick to the regular sports betting, it's far more interesting if you ask me.

I chose both because I like both (Traditional sports and esports) as a bet although only in a few categories, for example, for traditional I am more inclined towards soccer although lately I have bet a few times in cricket but I am more inclined to soccer and Esports I am more inclined to be in dota and moba games.

So in this case I think the conditions become quite flexible and can not choose one between traditional sports or esports because this all depends on the interests and preferences of each so that the classification for me is only a barrier of difference in terms of time (which is quite old and new sports) but for the question in the end we know that all have their own choices for this according to their preferences and interests.

Not always, but I do place some bets on esports. I like to bet on CS:GO, Valorant and Dota 2. There are a lot of championships and competitions going on, so I like to change things up a bit and get away from the traditional bets. I've won a fair amount with this type of bet. I don't have a preference, I like to have fun betting and occasionally win some money.

The discussions I have seen on here are primarily about betting on sports like basketball, football, cricket, baseball, and etc. We know that these are physical sports played by athletes that require them to use their body and play outside on a field or a stadium. Now there is an emerging different type of sport called Esports. It is basically a competition that uses video games instead of the athletes physically using their bodies and/or gears. Now, I searched more if there was also betting on esports and I have seen that the answer is yes.

Betting on esports seem to be not that different from betting on sports we have been familiarized already. They use the same format when it comes to odds. There are bookmakers as well. But the factors of course are different. Esports have more matches as gamers may play regionally, locally or internationally. There are big "leagues" as well as minor ones so there really is a lot.

The general audience betting on esports are younger compared to betters of traditional sports. In esports, there could be higher risk of cheating and manipulation during the games since there are much more technology available for that. In terms of betting profitability, the esport space even though has been growing massively does not seem to compare to the fanbase of traditional sports just yet. Not to mention that there is more history in traditional sports therefore there is a more established statistics to analyze with compared to esports.

eSports betting does tend to attract a younger, more tech savvy people, especially if you are in the era of gaming.

For me, I do bet on esports. I find it exciting, especially because the games are fast-paced and the scene is constantly evolving. Include also if you the esport game you are betting is the one you really play most of the time, the excitement is really different plus the professional players that you idolized are playing.

This was my first time betting on e-sports. If I had bet before, I would have definitely bet on traditional matches. Although this was my first experience, I have now gained a lot of knowledge about this e-sport. What we have to do in traditional matches is to have an idea about each player, as well as the team management, the team coach and the venue where the game is being played.


And in e-sports, you only have to have an idea about those few players or have an idea about that player. There is no venue advantage here, there is no personal record of any player here. What only depends here is the player of the team you are betting on and what his record is. Usually it is a little difficult to find these, because it is very difficult to say when an e-sports player starts playing well or emerges. Currently, e-sports is becoming very popular, so new players are also joining this field.

If you tell me, I will still go to traditional matches. When I watch traditional matches, it seems like they are played with emotion.

I haven’t tried eSports betting on it yet but I can see the temptation, especially with how fast the scene is growing. The format is quite similar to traditional sports but like you said the hazards are different.  Cheating and match fixing feel more probable in that space since it’s all tech driven.  I still incline toward conventional sports since there’s more data and I’m just more familiar with the players and organizations.  But who knows, maybe I’ll attempt esports betting sometime simply for the experience.

I will choose both because both of them are still considered with the category of skill base and experience base those games requires a good knowledge and understanding on the game. Both of the game has the winners and lossers depends on the capabilities of both ends and we as a gambler its an opportunity to us to have alot of choices with the games to bet so if you have backgrounds with the both games and you know whats the player or team can do on the field or on the match its good to put a wage on it.

I still hesitate to trust eSports, although my friends assure me that they had a positive experience. It isn't easy to trust technology that is sometimes easy to manipulate. I do not trust bookmakers and have heard that they can manipulate odds. Although eSports has been popular for several years, I still prefer traditional sports, especially when my favorite team is playing.

I'm not a fan of Esport or any sport simulation game, I prefer playing games on the traditional sport game where individuals players contribute their efforts as team to pull out an amazing play, rather gambling on simulation game. I basically love football game and I prefer watching the games while I bet on them, I make it a lot more fun and exciting. Though from a comparative view, both gaming option requires luck and no one is better than the other when it's comes to  wining or losing, yet I admire the efforts of players and appreciate their level of team work in pulling out an entertaining performance.

I've never made such bets, and I'm not going to do it. Because I'm not really interested in esports. Moreover, to be honest, I don't even consider esports to be a sport. If chess is questionable for me as a sport, then it is certainly difficult to call competitions of people with a mouse in their hands a sport. However, this is my personal opinion, which differs from the generally accepted one, nevertheless, I am not going to change it.

My people refer to eSports as "visual" because it's not like the real sport that is organized and performed by humans and the results from eSports is usually bad compared to the normal sports betting. I think I have partake in it once or so, but not now again, I have not even given a 100% attention to the traditional sports betting talk more of eSports. I don't even like I do for traditional sports betting.

I think the crowd here is still 50/50 whether we consider Esports as a "natural" sports because admit it or not, some of us are not interested or even didn't know what Esports is because we are traditional.

So with that, I do not think that it will become the biggest "it" thing in the field of sports. It will still be soccer or football or basketball or even boxing globally. And this just fits with the younger generation so it might take a while before being accepted.

I'm a video game lover, but I can't bet on esports. I just consider it unwise, and the game seems to be more manipulative. Even as we can't completely predict the outcome of other sports matches, it's nothing compared to the electronic sports I have seen. Most of them are on live bet tried to study it, but it always turns out negatively. Placing a bet on it will just be like I'm gambling blindly.

I'm a huge fan of traditional Sports betting. eSports is not local to my environment and as such I would not even think about betting on esports because it is a domain I do not understand. But for traditional Sports betting it is something that has been around for a long time, it is also very popular, and easier to bet on as you can do a long range of historical analysis. When it comes to potential injuries then this isnt likely to happen, What do commonly happen is about that VISA decline on which a particular team or player wont be able to make it through specially on bigger tournaments on e-sports but this do only happen on those huge ones but if we do speak about minors then it could be done online as always. When it comes into possible manipulation or rigging up the game then it could happen and since everything is done online then there's no way that we can be able to detect or known in about not unless if there would be leaks or some obvious actions then they would definitely caught on which just like on typical consequences once get caught then its just that the same with traditional sports. Its just that these things in between will differ about on how its been done and on the type of sports that they've been dealing into.
