This question is for those people holding $BTC and other huge crypto assets. if $BTC later reaches $1 million, will you retire from your work or still continue to work?
Asking this question because of what i saw in a friend portfolio and he claimed if it later reaches certain amount he will finally retire. 

It depends on how many btc I owned. If it’s huge, maybe I’d go for retirement and just try to invest into some other assets to acquire multiple profits in time. Life is too short so I’ll just spend the rest of my retirement age with my family and friends and enjoy quality time with them. But I’ll keep investing on bitcoin still to gain future profits with bitcoin.

It's too young for me to retire because I'm not even three years old. $1 million is a fantastic price that is beyond my mind if I own a few BTCs. Honestly, I can't imagine what I could do if I had a few Bitcoins that cost $1 million per BTC.
For now with what I have in mind, I wouldn't choose retirement.

OP doesn't understand that even if Bitcoin reaches $1 million, it is not enough to make someone with a family to care for retire too early. Bitcoin to $1 million won't change a thing, what matters is how much Bitcoin in holding, as of now the price of Bitcoin is far huge for many to accumulate 1 Bitcoin equivalent to $100K then hold long enough when the price of Bitcoin will top $1 million in value which is 10X of what was invested.

Before retirement requires proper planning, and Bitcoin should only be part of the plan and not the whole plan.

Actually, it's not that you don't understand, it's just that your understanding is different from yours in interpreting retirement preparation.
Obviously if we have a lot of Bitcoin and the price can reach $1 million, it will make the owner rich when they release it. The question that will arise when you sell it for $1 million is what will you do? Business? That means not retired but still working. So what if the business goes bankrupt?
Well. Therefore, it is better if you continue to be a Bitcoin holder even though it is time to retire.

Retirement is viewed from different angles by different people, for myself, what I might consider retirement is stopping to work for people and using the profits from my bitcoin investment which I must have held for a long term before it reaches $1m to build my own private business which would bring residual income for me and I still play a major role in its management. That is the retirement I might consider, but if it is to stop all forms of work and just start living a lazy and withdrawn life off my holdings, then I would not want to retire.

We should have plans like these but we should not have plans like this if we don't hold BTC at all. I mean if we don't even hold BTC why we are interested in the price predictions and future retirement on the basis of BTC. At first we should accumulate at least 1 BTC and that is not hard to accumulate if someone is earning good but for poor countries that can be a hard task.

I suggest never to retire if you belong to a poor country and my suggestion is not enough, people from poor countries know they can't retire themselves even if they have money. They will find something to do and earn money because at last the money won't last and we runs out of it therefore we should never leave working instead if we have money we should start our dream business or turn our hobby into passion so we could learn, earn and enjoy at the same time.

I think the answer here is not about the price of BTC. Rather, it is about the amount of BTC you own that you can comfortably live during your retirement.

To answer your question OP, I would be comfortable having at least 2-3 BTCs when the price reaches $1 million. As someone who lives in a third-world country, having 2-3 BTCs (equivalent to $2-$3 million) would put me in a position where I can purchase several properties for rent and other business ventures. This would also give me an opportunity to acquire more assets and diversify my investment portfolio further as an inheritance to my heirs.

We all believe that BTC has the capability of breaking records with its price. Time and time again, we have witnessed events that skyrocketed its price on the market- which is also the reason on why reaching this kind of price milestone is realistically possible within the next few years.

I am not yet thinks about that because Bitcoin still far away from $1 million. We don't know when it will happen so we don't have to think much. It is better we prepare ourselves by continue accumulating Bitcoin before the price really hit the highest price and make us lose the chance to buy at a low. It will be up to your friend because we have different plan to do. We will not be the same like them because we have our own target in life. All in all, there is no alternative to the long term, if you want to make real profits, you must have a long-term plan, Bitcoin has created 110K ATH at the moment, it has the potential to cross 1M million or 10M in the future. The current price is very insignificant compared to the potential of Bitcoin in the future. Bitcoin can become much larger than we expect in the future, and it will definitely happen because Bitcoin is constantly becoming stronger. So all in all, you should never wait to buy Bitcoin, what you think is very valuable at the moment, in the future this price will seem much lower to you, but then there will be no opportunity to buy at this price.

I've already retired. This doesn't mean that I don't work at all, but I just work part time and spend more time with my family.

I have a number of income sources, for instance I moved from an apartment in the city to a house in the nearby small town and I'm renting out the apartment, so that's one source of income. I also work part time, around 10 hours a week and I sometimes spend some bitcoin, mostly during ATH raids.

I don't have to work at all at this point. I could just cash out 0.1 BTC a year and add it to the money I get from my apartment and that would be enough to live on. If bitcoin ever goes to 1m, I won't spend all my savings anyway. I'd have to start buying things I don't need like yachts and have my own supercar collection I doubt that anything will change in the way I live between $500k per bitcoin and 1m.

This question is an individual question because for most people they like working so other investments will just be an additional income so even if Bitcoin hit a million dollars today there are people who will not quit their jobs because investment in Bitcoin is not that tasky for someone to be concentrating on it only this is done online so as far as you are following up with the latest trends like news like either drop or rise in price it's okay still working



The other set of people who will quit their Jobs if Bitcoin eventually reaches a million dollars is the people with the mindset of I have already arrived via my investment in Bitcoin and since I have an investment that I worth a million dollars there is no need for me to work I can't blame anyone of the two categories of people here because everyone has their choices to make

Exactly since somehow earnings from Bitcoin is temporary and we don't know what will happen in future that's why same as you I would rather choose future security rather than trying something risky on my side.

But that doesn't mean I'm thinking negative on Bitcoin's future but rather I just want my self and my family safe from future troubles. Also provably would do other extra things like building up a business  from the profits I get from Bitcoin and if I became stable unto this then provably I will retire from my job but for sure will continue to find good opportunity or still join on Bitcoin investment even if I'm old dude.

An individual can retire when BTC hits that price but there's always new believer who believe price can climb even higher since the utility is there anyway.
So personally, I'd see for the chance whether bitcoin can go up even higher while also taking into account the so many factors that determine the chance for bitcoin to reach an even higher price like $10m for example.

How will an individual retire when bitcoin price reaches $1 million or even $10 million while he has no bitcoin or only holds a small amount of bitcoin? So in my opinion it will depend on how much bitcoin we hold and that is the main factor that determines when we retire.

If you want to retire in a country where the cost of living is not as high as third world countries and you own 10 or 100 BTC, you can retire now without waiting for bitcoin to reach $1 million. Conversely, you won't be able to retire even if bitcoin price hits $1 million if you only hold 0.1 or 0.01 BTC.

For me, I would focus on accumulating as many bitcoins as possible instead of just holding a small amount of bitcoin and expecting it to reach 1 million or 10 million. That is too passive.

We have many responsibilities before we go to rest. Even at the time when we think we should go to rest, we will find that there are many tasks left. For bitcoin to reach 1mil USD, it will take a long time, and by long, I mean really long.

For retirement, dont think of that to be funded by bitcoin reaching 1mil, that is unrealistic, it might happen but it might not as well by the time we live here.

I think making the most of what bitcoin has reached all this while should be out objective. Not planning for something huge but living properly. Use any method to sell coins when you need, dont hesitate to move your assets when needed.
