You see knowing about Bitcoin is certainly useful, but the main task of schools is not to promote any specific investment. The crypto market is very volatile; many have suffered big losses in the hope of quick profits. Telling teenagers to invest in Bitcoin can push them into risky decisions. Moreover the laws, taxes and security issues are different in every country investing without understanding these is dangerous. Therefore, it is more important to teach neutral financial education in schools about economics, savings, understanding risks, and digital financial technologies, rather than specific coins.

I agree.

Fundamentals are important for everything in such a field, it's just that so that the focus wouldn't be only on BTC.. otherwise, people may go and think only of it, whereas there would be success putting your eggs in different baskets as well.

Hence, educational institutions should take the responsibility to see that out younger generation know Bitcoin and how to invest in crypto currency.
I don't know what education system is in your country but here we have middle school, and high school, and I don't want them to teach kids about cryptocurrency in middle school because many won't give it a chance even, as most of them don't know what they are doing in life, they are blind, chilling, but it does not mean they should not be given the opportunity.

They should be given slight knowledge about it as some optional course, those who would be interested can pursue it otherwise the remaining ones will keep their distance and after middle, this should become a part of their studies not so hard that they start to hate it but basics, so after high education when they pursue their graduation they can start their careers from there. I might be wrong as I am not education minister haha but still I don't want 8 years old kids to be learning about investment, but about blockchain only.
If in the end when there is a school curriculum that contains bitcoin then it can be a very good thing but when things like this still cannot be realized then we only need to create our own as a form of capital, even though this may not cover many children but it is still capable enough to make our own descendants become more understanding and more literate about things like this.

So that when we know what we have to do then we just need to practice it, children at a young age or entering the teenage phase is a transition period where they more often want to try new things because their curiosity is very large and we only need to direct a little so that the curiosity is channeled properly. We cannot force it directly so that it is achieved quickly but when we can teach them slowly then it will make them not burdened but on the other hand they know better what to do because this will have a good impact on their future.
At least in this case we have tried to provide comfort even though we only provide initial capital in terms of knowledge and deepening of what they should do.

It depends on whether the school wants to include education about Bitcoin in their school or not. But in some countries the educational curriculum is fully regulated by the government, so educational institutions cannot carelessly add new material without official approval.

So, while we assume that understanding Bitcoin is something young people need today, expecting educational institutions to incorporate it into their official curriculum anytime soon may be somewhat unrealistic.

However, from what I know, currently there are several educational institutions that include crypto and blockchain asset materials in their curriculum, although they are still limited to university levels and certain study programs. But if Bitcoin adoption becomes wider in the future, it is possible that the government will consider formally including this material in the curriculum

The first post in this thread mentions that Bitcoin has enabled many people to escape poverty. But it should also be mentioned that many people bought Bitcoin at a higher price and then sold it at a lower price, either because they didn't have the patience to wait for the right price or because they needed money for some urgent expenses and had to sell Bitcoin and buy fiat currency.

Schools need to introduce courses on financial literacy in general, not just on Bitcoin, because people take out loans when they are young or foolish, and then spend their whole lives paying them off, without feeling satisfied with their current lives. From an educational point of view, Bitcoin is not so simple either. It is necessary to explain clearly that if you buy Bitcoin, you need to hold on to it for a long time, not sell it at a loss, and not sell it for some minimal profit.

The issue is not whether the government and the education ministry want to include Bitcoin education in the curriculum or not. The issue they are concerned about is what benefits will introducing a risky and unstable investment model into education bring to students.

The role of education is to provide basic knowledge, the foundation for developing thinking, skills and shaping human personality. It is not their duty and responsibility to teach us how to make money and how to survive. Meanwhile, bitcoin is just an investment like many other investments and assets. It is not the kind of knowledge that can help people develop their thinking and form life skills. So, it is unnecessary to include it in education.

Bitcoin and crypto are in the field of finance. It would be more reasonable to include it in university programs and make it an elective, as not everyone likes investing or is passionate about finance.

Although it is effective to inform every teenager about Bitcoin, I think that schools should not teach them about investing, it will be risky for the education sector. I think that an adult student will easily understand Bitcoin if he has complete knowledge of the subject. Therefore, it will not be a good idea to give young children the idea of investing in Bitcoin from school. We know that Bitcoin is a volatile currency, its value can go up and down at any time and it is risky to invest here, in that case, if school children are taught these things, they will definitely fall into greed to make quick money. However, we know that various subjects are taught in different schools for financial development, which are important, but teaching about Bitcoin is not very important, because when they gain their own knowledge, they will be able to gain sufficient knowledge about Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has been a life saver to many people, as it was targeted to fill in the bridge in the economic sector, the lapses of hard currency.
Hence, educational institutions should take the responsibility to see that out younger generation know Bitcoin and how to invest in crypto currency.

Teaching Bitcoin to young people is very important, the current digital age has arrived. And Bitcoin has spread widely all over the world, so every teenager and both men and women who want to learn about Bitcoin should take Bitcoin education. If you have noticed, you will definitely see that Nayeib Bukele has made all kinds of arrangements for everyone in El Salvador, from young people to adults, to learn about Bitcoin. And the people of his country are gradually showing great interest in learning Bitcoin.
If education about Bitcoin can be achieved in this way, then both the country and the nation will be able to reach a high level.

I would say it's more about the people's freedom than for the gov to "reach" something.. Because overall, the amount of effort and funds put into BTC, especially from the big nations, is minuscule in comparison to their overall budgets.

As of now, it's just a new brand toy to play around with Wink

I don't think it's necessary to teach Bitcoin to young people and El Salvador isn't the ideal example. Because in reality, the situation there shows more problems than successes since they adopted bitcoin into the national economy.

To this day, El Salvador's economy remains in dire straits, with high public debt and even on the brink of bankruptcy. People's lives have not improved and this shows that forcing people to access bitcoin reluctantly will not bring prosperity or improvement.

Bitcoin is just a financial instrument, a volatile and risky investment. Introducing a high risk investment into education and considering it the focus will not help the country develop but on the contrary will create deviations in the learning orientation and thinking of young people.

It's a nice suggestion but I hope you're aware that government owns and control educational institutions. Government designed, oversee and supervise the school curriculum right from elementary school to higher college. Government also approved courses to be studied after meeting their required standard. Before now, government is finding it hard to accommodate bitcoin into the system giving some vague reasons behind their rejection. Although, some government are beginning to realise how important it is to accept Bitcoin into the system while some are still reluctant. It's possible in the future for educational institutions to start teaching bitcoin and it's usefulness if governments give a go ahead other. You can still study about bitcoin with various of learning materials available online and offline on your own if you're interested.

BTC helps people in countries with hyperinflation to save their wealth by giving a steady store of value, and BTC helps people in countries where banks help people send money home cheaper and faster. Also, Bitcoin creates economic value by starting new digital area that makes millions of good paying jobs around world and builds trust system of new financial services. To sum up, big effect of Bitcoin does not lie in construction of factories, but in fixing of broken money systems, giving people with access to money and new international industry.

Bitcoin is not the world's first or only asset, store of value, or inflation hedge. Gold, real estate and stocks are also good hedging tools. So should we also start teaching stock investing in schools?
BTC is indeed a superior cross-border payment and remittance solution compared to traditional solutions. But for this reason alone, and not everyone needs it, is it worth considering introducing bitcoin into education?
To be precise, the cryptocurrency industry, blockchain technology is creating many new jobs, not bitcoin. So, if possible, cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are things that should be included in the educational curricula, not just focusing solely on teaching speculation in Bitcoin and stocks.

Yep. The goal is to get people to know the fundamentals.. Not only of BTC, but about crypto in general.

And it's of the best interest for the people to know more to choose what you want further from life and their future.

I agree.

Fundamentals are important for everything in such a field, it's just that so that the focus wouldn't be only on BTC..
Fundamentals or the basics are truly important. It doesn't have to be taught the entire thing that people might be overwhelmed with the information that they could get.

And that's where everyone should start, I saw some of those communities in other locals that they're making their own way of spreading the fundamentals about Bitcoin through conducting learning drives of teaching young ones about it.

otherwise, people may go and think only of it, whereas there would be success putting your eggs in different baskets as well.
That's not wrong either, as long as it's going to make someone's money successful, it's what we aspire to see from everyone.

It's not proper putting Bitcoin knowledge into school scheme because some countries still yet to accept Bitcoin investment and transaction and would not permit it there school system, unless your talking of countries that have accepted Bitcoin, then the knowledge of Bitcoin will gradually spread without putting it into school scheme as you know you will spread it by telling your friends about it also with others it will spread like wide fire on its own.so ,it's unnecessary putting it in educational schemes just to help in the spread  it's knowledge.

We all have our own choices. Many of us here will say that Bitcoin is the best option and the only.

But not against with people that have diversified assets and also considering other investments because that's your strategy as you invest.

You're right that it shouldn't be the only good option if you have some in your mind and you have proven it to be one of the good ones you can have.

Bitcoin has been a life saver to many people, as it was targeted to fill in the bridge in the economic sector, the lapses of hard currency. And it's spread is global in the last 16years which is alarming and fast. Hence no country can even denie the global impact of Bitcoin.

But,  devoid the spread of Bitcoin some persons still don't know what Bitcoin is all about, some just know that there is something like Bitcoin but, if you ask them "what is Bitcoin?" Or what do you understand by Bitcoin? They may not give you any reasonable answer.

Hence, I think schools should put Bitcoin knowledge into their scheme because, Bitcoin has helped millions out of poverty and is still doing so. Hence, these educational institutions should look for a way to intimate the young growing ones on the need to invest in Bitcoin. The school is a place to be educated on the most recent happenings and how to get yourself with the need knowledge to avoid poverty.

Hence, educational institutions should take the responsibility to see that out younger generation know Bitcoin and how to invest in crypto currency.
I don't know for other countries but in my country I am not even 10% sure if our government will allow the educational sectors to add crypto currency (Bitcoin) to the subjects. Currently, in some regions their educational systems don't make their graduates prosper that is why some of their graduates go outside their country go hustle for money when after completing their education in their country. It will really be a great idea of the government can do what you just said but they will not because even the government are skeptical about Bitcoin (crypto currency).

Schools are subordinate to governments. They need government's authorization to work and to exist legally. They teach students to obey the government, and encourage students to believe they are protected by the government in a ample state of order and equality.

So, how is Bitcoin going to be introduced at schools? In order to teach about Bitcoin, you have to explain why it was created in first place. And if this explanation is shared with the public, how are schools going to sustain their default speech?

With Bitcoin introduction, many doubts will be raised, and students will finally understand there is something very wrong going on with global economy. It's not sustainable, fiat currencies are losing purchasing power along the years, quality of goods and services are increasing, while quality is decreasing, average citizens are being overcharged by governments through taxes and so on...

Information and knowledge are disponible to everyone, but only for those who seek for it independently, by themselves.

Usually the youth is who will decide the future of the country. They will also contribute for the betterment of the economy. We can't deny the fact that future leaders will be someone emerging from the youth and if this youth had enough information about bitcoins will only make them support bitcoins in future. Maybe once the youth takes over, we can even see mass adoption and legalization of bitcoins as the youth will know the benefit and features of bitcoins.

For this, educating the youth is really important and we should treat it as an important aspect to secure the future of bitcoins.

I don't think there is a need to include Bitcoin in textbooks, especially since we can learn many important things about Bitcoin every day through various online magazines and various social media, and that is enough. School and college students will gradually learn about Bitcoin over time, so there is no need to teach Bitcoin by including it in their new textbooks. Moreover, various countries of the world have not yet expressed interest in Bitcoin, so there has not been much interest in including Bitcoin directly in textbooks. However, New Zealand has announced that it will include Bitcoin in their curriculum.
