Selling BTC at Ebay

I tried selling dogecoin on ebay. The listing was up for about a week. I never made any sales, and ebay eventually deleted my listing, saying it was miscategorized (I gues I didn't put it in the "virtual" category). I saw other dogecoin sellers claim that they were selling a "penny" and that the dogecoins came along with the penny. These sellers were actually shipping a real penny to the buyers. I guess it worked for them, but seems silly.

That penny trick is just so that you can prove that you send something. In the end you are at paypal/ebays final decision, and in the past they are not very crypto friendly. Also 8-10% fees is just ridiculous for digital currency, but that is another story...

Well sell them a starter set comes with a CD guide and all the things you need to know about the currency
Then you can probably set a 2000-3000% premium on it

I am sure there are ways that work with a higher probability than just sending coins, but I don't get why anyone would wanna do that. Just use an exchange or localbtc

Well it targets the people who don't really understand crytocurrency and need the help setting up more than anything else
The ones with more knowledge will usually start off on an exchange or localbtc as you pointed out

I suggest selling low amounts and maybe u will buyers who you can befriend after you get there email address and tell them you will give disocunt if they buy from you in the future without ebay,  It will be good if you start up a website.  tell them they can bitcoins even safer with moneypak

I tried it, got a chargeback, took ebay many months to side with the buyer (stolen credit card apparently). Buyer even left me positive feedback!! I had snapshots of all the mails she sent, the account number she gave, and the movement through the blockchain. To cut to the chase, I ended up with paypal in debit and ebay fees which I refused to pay.

So they closed my account.

Never try that again.

Not a good a idea to sell bitcoins on ebay or anything that deals with paypal. After they received your bitcoins they simply chargeback and say they were hacked. And paypal will reversed the funds and you can not dispute it.

I made many transaction successfully in localbitcoins, you can use local bitcoins, they are good and very fast

Bitcoins will be sold only to "Verified" PayPal accounts through verify the buyer's emails on Paypal and eBay and they have to be the same.

Use ebay.ch or ebay.de, never had a problem wirh any of them!

I tried to sell .5 btc last year.   I said no new buyer I will cancel the sale.  A zero feedback buyer with a 2 day account purchased the coin.

 I canceled the sale and refunded his money in less then 35-40 minutes flat.


 He gave me a negative feedback and said " it was a waste of time and money."    It took me  more then 2 weeks to have the only negative feedback I ever got  removed.

 Even though I have more then 500, 000 usd in sales lifetime   which means lots of fees for them.    

They said I have to sell to a first time buyer if he pays which he did.  I said all feedback that is a lie must be removed. (Their rules not mine).

 My defense was how did he waste time and money.  He lost control of his money for under 1 hour hardly a waste of time.  

 And he got a full refund  which truly meant he should not be allowed to say his money was wasted.  

   

    I never sell anything digital anymore.  They did take the negative away but I kind of lost my taste for ebay  rules favor buyers more and more.  

 Although chargebacks  don't cost if you do all the rules on physical goods.  If the goods are digital you mostly will always lose a chargeback.

Ebay is a terrible place to attempt to sell crypto.
I was scammed out of a bunch on Litecoins on there last year. Paypal is no help. Ebay and Paypal are enemies of the crypto world.

eBay .. I'd stay far away.

The fees are ridiculous and paypal backend will burn you.

Chargebacks are rampant and won't protect you at all.
Not worth the headache.
