Op, I kind of think the best place suitable for this Topic to get discussed is the Naija local board, It should be moved to the (politics and society section). The mods should look into it.
And besides, to your awareness there's nothing like Niger delta country and Biafra country, They are not yet officially proclaimed as a country or as a sovereign nation it's just an agitation for the south Eastern part of Nigeria and the South-South region (The Ijaw nation).

In my opinion we don't really need this Biafra because it's still same personalities that would run the administration and it would change nothing from what the masses are actually suffering for which has been the reason for the agitations. What is needed is a revolution that would turn the entire Nigeria country around for the better. Which is a flushing away of the bead eggs in leadership roles.

A revolution in Nigeria might be possible via a military coup because civilian revolt will lead to the death of many protesters, as happened in EndSars. The military can easily flush out these old, corrupt politicians and start a new political era.

Your OP should have carried more details because this is a general board where different nationalities visits, a none Nigerian might not understand where your argument is coming from. Like @Franctoshi, noted this thread should be in Nigerian politics and society board but since it's not moved we can as well make comments here. What is happening in Nigeria, is that some regions of the country feels marginalized and wants to go their separate ways, the reason for this is bad governance, when the government is favoring some regions more than the others. I believe that if the leadership is favoring to all the regions nobody will be interested to breakout from the country. There had been a civil war to divide the country but it didn't work out, now it is in the hands of politicians to unite the country but they are clearly not doing enough and the agitation is continuing in some communities.

You are correct about this sir, Nigerian as a country don't need any division, all that is needed is for the bad eggs to be forced out of power, because corruption has eaten deep into the country which makes it difficult for the nation to progress better than what it is now, so dividing the country wouldn't solve the real cause of the challenge the country is going through now.

Isn't it better that you moved your post to the Naija local board section under politics and society there, because this is more of the Nigerians and their agitations for the fight of freedom for independence by splitting the country.

There are about four factions already, the Niger Delta, the IPOB which are the Indigenous People of Biafra, the Yoruba Nation and the Northerners which we don't recognized them under a particular name, but to take leadership from the democracy government in rule will be very difficult, except by coup, but for now, its very difficult for Nigeria to divide.

These ideologies have been created to exist as a mechanism of divide and rule by the most elites. And it has served as fetters to the unity of the citizens as they have been blinded by these agents of separation called ethnicity, and religion. Another issue altogether is the level of political orientation of the people and the kind of political culture we have been served with over the years which has become dominant and unquestioned.

Until most countries in Africa choose leaders based on competence and integrity instead of tribe and religion,  poverty will keep increasing. A revolution in Nigeria might be possible via a military coup because civilian revolt will lead to the death of many protesters, as happened in EndSars. The military can easily flush out these old, corrupt politicians and start a new political era.

Unlike those other countries of Africa which has been overtaken by military coup due to the height of corruption by the democratic leadership which has led to extreme poverty amongst the citizens. Nigeria military men, most have involved themselves into the politics of the day and have perhaps taking sides, and so I doubt a coup of that nature can be possible as expected.

Even though this topic is mostly suited to be posted on the Nigerian local board, let's face the reality that the amalgamation of the northern, Southern, Eastern and western Nigeria to exist as a single country is one that will continue to yield a quest for separation because of how diverse the different ethnic groups are and the fact that they all hold a certain level of interest in being a sovereign nation.

The nija delta holds the oil that has been used to run the nation all these years and normally, they would want to part ways just to gain some level of control on her resources. The Biafrans have never considered themselves a part of the country because of the uniqueness in Thier trading capacity and the fact that history has made them believe that they are of a different breed. In all, the reality is that Nigeria is too complex to coexist as just a single country, separation is necessary but how to go about the separation is what's the issue. All the regions of Nigeria apart from the north have one point or the other made the demand for separation, if such demand is to be granted, the question then becomes, which region deserves it more?

I will not agree with you that dividing the country into two parts wouldn't change anything because you don't know what the outcome of the seperated nation will be. You are only talking based on your assumption. I believe that Nigeria resources is too big for only some set of people to enjoy greedily. If Nigeria divides, it will motivate the two nations to be upfront in developing their country and manage their resources wisely. Ex-military men are fighting to be Governors and President in Nigeria.

It might seem to you as a best solution but don't forget that it's going to be same set of powerful men that will rule in those separations.

You are correct about this sir, Nigerian as a country don't need any division, all that is needed is for the bad eggs to be forced out of power, because corruption has eaten deep into the country which makes it difficult for the nation to progress better than what it is now, so dividing the country wouldn't solve the real cause of the challenge the country is going through now.

Franctoshi why will you say this board is not suitable for this topic remember this is politics and society general board and if you check there are topic about USA and other countries are been posted and discussed in this particular board and most don't concern the world in general it is mainly talking about that particular country they have local board too and it has not been moved.

What I know about the Niger Delta fight was mainly because of marginalization, the Niger Delta region was the smallest region in Nigeria and as at then the government where not given them attention mean while the oil that is feeding the nation was coming from there and so the Niger Delta people said no they will not accept this marginalization and they started fighting by destroying pipe lines where oil was pass through, they may have now requested for there own country so they can stay alone as the first was going on, but the main reason for the fight was because of marginalization.

The difference between the Niger delta and Biafra is the language because they share a common culture and boundaries. There's no need for the division because they need eachother to get better. Africa is waiting for Nigeria to be one, speak in one voice and conquer their fears. What has brought the country Nigeria where it is today is insensitivity of most ethnic groups who are so much engulfed and have become sentimental base on the lie sold to them of whom they are not.

Is a mystery we don't really no the origin of how it starts, however I think I'm just hearing from you that the Niger delta was a country and the first for that matter, however I think if that's true the Niger delta could have remained the way they are since they were already a country of there own. However it might not be about supporting the Biafra or not but what it could cost is what people might be afraid of, what everybody wants is peace and a loving country so not everybody might support the goal of the Biafra, so actually it shouldn't look as if the Niger delta doesn't want them.
