So don't be affected on what others are saying, let's put it that way.

This is just it because as long as the person does not borrow money from anyone and does not steal money from anyone, he is still acceptable in the public. If such person win huge amount of money and become big in life, do not be surprised that those that called him irresponsible may come to him to beg for money, which is how people are. What that matters is to live a responsible life and that is all.

There are gamblers that may not be serious and also be irresponsible but there are some gamblers that are serious and responsible. There are people that are not gambling that are not serious and also be irresponsible, also there are people that are serious and responsible.

People have their own opinion and it is their own right too, the same for us where we can ignore those opinion or take it as a friendly reminder or even take it as an offense for us.
I take what others said differently depending on the situation, depending on who are saying it and depending on some other factors.
For this case and because I have heard such opinion so many times both online and in real life, I take it as a reminder especially if it is said by someone that I know him personally.
But if it is said by someone or even a group that I do not know at all, I'll only smile when I heard it.

If you want to avoid conflict, the best thing to do is just ignore them. Whatever explaination you do to them, it won't change their perspective in gambling if they see it as a bad habit. As long as you know that you're gambling responsibly and it doesn't ruin your life in any way then continue what makes you happy.

As long as there are people getting addicted in gambling, it's difficult to remove the stereotype of gamblers being seen as irresponsible with their life. If you don't want to see people think of you that way, it's better to just gamble online. People don't realize that gambling is just the same with other hobbies like drinking or playing video games, it can cause harm to a person if it's done intensively.

When they first mention it, I can’t really tell anything about them because being a gambler itself doesn’t say much about a person tbh. I’d rather want to see the results because if he is a gambler that wins in the long run, that would be a very interesting interaction and I’d probably learn a lot from that guy (unless he is interested in sharing his secrets with me of course) Otherwise what else is there to say about gamblers? Some play for fun, some play to make money in the end the majority of them are losing money. Since these people lose I wouldn’t be interested in hearing their stories. Millions of people make millions of bets every day. I don’t think it tells anything meaningful to me.

The fact here is that whatever thing you do in this life be it Good or bad surely  there must be a complain coming from different angles, but so far as I'm not overdoing it I wouldn't mind, they can say whatever thing they Wish to say for all I care. And yes, those guys that always spend 24hours to gamble could be the reason why gamblers are tag as useless people and this is also affecting those responsible gamblers because when we mentioned Gamblers" this comprises of both responsible and irresponsible gamblers, so the best thing to do is to reduce the rate at which we gamble and also the time spent in the gambling shop.

The problem is that, when people call someone a "gambler", they are usually situating that characteristic above others.

For example, one can be a lawyer, father, budist and gambler, but if you call him gambler it seems that this is his main characteristic (like if you say he's a lawyer it seems that he is working all day). It can be true or not, but in the imagination of many people they can think of a man who is gambling all day, which is not perceived as a positive characteristic.

I’m proud to be called a gambler because I know I’m a responsible one. I’d be more than happy to prove that not all gamblers are troubled or reckless. There are many of us who know how to stay in control and still contribute positively to the community.

As for the judgmental people, it's better to just ignore them. If we react to their negativity, it only encourages them more.

Gambling is now widely accepted, even mainstream in some places. Maybe it’s time for others to catch up and learn to respect gamblers as we’re people too. As long as we’re not stealing or doing anything illegal just to gamble, then there’s nothing wrong with it.

I do not think that the society cares anymore whether you are a gambler or not. What the society cares about is that whatever you have chosen to do, just don't be a nuisance to the society.

There is gambling discussion happening everyday on social media and I don't see any one cursing them. Rather they are asking for tips, bet codes and discussion who to bet on and others.

Even on the streets, there are several billboards that are advertising gambling and calling people to use their bet codes to sign up.

The perception of the society towards gamblers is not how it used to be before. It is not more relaxed.

Of course, if you have a lot of them and spend a little more it doesn't matter, but if your "game" ruins you and hurts you, let's ask ourselves two questions.

We can't change how people view gamblers because of how damaging gambling addiction can be. Even if someone is a responsible gambler, others will still label them an addict, simply because non-gamblers often see gambling as a bad habit. We can't really blame them or stop them, and there’s not much we can do to change their mindset coz even gamblers themselves are aware of the risks and consequences of gambling or becoming addicted to it.

You can’t undone alone what the society thinks especially if the majority of gamblers is irresponsible. Whether we like it or not, gambling is swarmed by irresponsible person that’s why it’s easy generalized the whole gambling community.

My country is one of those with society that view gamblers as useless since there’s a lot of cases here that rich turn into poor by gambling alone.

Personally, I just hide the fact that I’m a gambler since I can do this without encountering any problem. I don’t need to prove a point.

There is nothing anyone can do to change the mindset that people have towards gambling, because there are some people out there who has painted gambling to be for irresponsible people due to their reckless way of gambling that has turned them into addicts. You should know what an addicted gambler is capable of doing when he wants to feed his addiction. I will advise people to gamble responsible and live by example.

People who are not into the lifestyle are quick to tag anyone that's a gambler as an irresponsible person. I don't blame them though because most of the people who gamble exhibit behaviors that are inappropriate, violence, drug use and so on but not everyone is like this and I think it's wrong for them to just put everyone in that category. In order for the society to change their idea, gamblers must avoid the addiction side of it

The issue why gamblers are perceived as irresponsible individuals is because of what the society has always known, and the views that they have had to adopt because that is what is common around them. When most people begin to think that all gamblers are irresponsible, anybody new into their environment will have the same thinking if the person is someone who cannot think for themselves. On what can change people's thinking concerning gambling and their views and opinions, I think a massive orientation would do the job, people need to understand that gambling is only an irresponsible behavior when it is abused just like every other thing.

I will not care about other people's opinions about gamblers, even if they call me a gambler. Ignoring them is the best choice for me. Besides, I am not harming them, I gamble with my money, and I have never borrowed money from those who comment for any purpose.
I see a gambler as part of ordinary society. There is nothing special or bad about a gambler, it's just that when a gambler becomes uncontrolled and causes problems with others, even harming others, I will judge the gambler as a bad person.
All gamblers know the risks of gambling, that's a must. Don't just think about the chances of winning that will be obtained.

Alcohol or forbidden substances also give joy and this is not appreciated by society as something good.

Gambling is perceived by society negatively due to the fact that hambblers very quickly acquire game addiction. If the hambblers played moderately, I believe that there would be no such condemn in the eyes (and words) of the surrounding people.

Any joy should be moderate (sufficient), and not excess and in the form of constant pursuit of this.

Yes, they are not responsible, for me to hell with their talk I don't care what they say to me gamble or not my right.

Strangely, such a situation had happened to me, in his view bad because I gambled, but he dared to borrow money from me, that was strange to me.
Because I felt sorry to see him I gave it, but I said the money I gave borrowed was money from gambling, do you want, strangely he answered want ... weird people.

You shouldn't think about other players or what should be done to "fix" them. You have no way of influencing that, so there’s no point in worrying about it. People will always believe that gambling is bad, because even if they haven’t experienced it themselves, they’ve heard real-life stories from friends or acquaintances about people who lost a lot of money in casinos. That’s why this opinion will always exist in society. If you know how to gamble responsibly, just don’t pay attention to what other people say.

i dont have to do anything if people often term what i do as bad because i know am not a bad gambler. it can only look offensive when i am a victim of such circumstances. so i will completely ignore because that will be the only way to make it not look obviously true. i know that whatever you do in life people must talk be it good or bad, so becoming angry and retaliating is not the solution to such situation. i will just do what pleases me and forget about what people say, because that is the nature of humans.
