Trump's tariff effects have not yet been fully realized as there has been no clear indication of inflation in data that is caused by tariffs. But this does not mean that it will not happen. Many are saying that prices will increase in the next few months and that is caused by Trump's tariffs. With this said, do you think people should be hoarding now? Is it possible that people buy all kinds of necessities in fear of not being able to afford it in the next few months? Personally I don’t think this tariff will last a lot long and because the grave effect is already telling on many sectors. It will be very bad to actually buy products all in the name of such products been expensive later tomorrow, it is much more convenient in my opinion to actually buy when it is high than actually have extra items available and then tariff is actually lowered later. The best thing in this uncertain period is simply to actually invest into assets with ROI when you hold such that the effect of the market shift during tariff effect duration doesn’t affect one’s funds, this phase is most definitely going to pass sooner as the two major countries US and China are in discussions everyday to reach some certain agreement.

The old wisdom goes, “If you see the crowd running for toilet paper, you are already late.” What we are seeing with Trump’s tariffs and inflation isn’t the kind of thing you’ll spot on the morning news, or even in CNBC reports
Prices are not screaming higher (yet) because the big retailers front-loaded before winter. Inventories are full, margins are thin, and every CEO is hoping someone else will be first to blink. Meanwhile, the true costs (container rates doubling, brands quietly shrinking product sizes, quality slipping) are like termites in the economic woodwork. You do not notice, until one day the floor gives
Should people hoard? Humans aren’t logical calculators. We are emotional creatures with a strong herd instinct. Just scroll through any social media thread on appliances or groceries: panic-buying isn’t about price, it’s about regaining agency in an unpredictable world. Some people will hoard, not because of “data” but because they feel the storm coming. Often before the experts do
If you’re buying, buy what you actually use. If you are hoarding out of fear, that fear itself may be the new inflation. Markets are slow to reflect reality, but people behavior can make it real long before the economists agree on what “real” even is

I think the tariffs haven't been priced in.
I don't think they can be priced in, since nobody (including officials in the white house) knows whether Trump is playing a head game with the rest of the world or if he's actually going to stick to the numbers he's spouted off. By the way, I'm not exactly sure who would be pricing in what right now. Retailers? Don't think so. Stock market? Yeah, but every time Trump changes his terms the market just gets more volatile as it adjusts. IMO Trump is doing his Art of the Deal thing where he lays out extreme numbers on his proposed tariffs so as to leave a lot of room for countries to bargain. I think it's insanity, but that's just me. Stockpiling isn't a great idea, depending on what stuff we're talking about (and you didn't clarify that, OP). On the other hand, buying up items that have a high chance of being hit by general inflation isn't irrational provided you've got the extra dough and storage space. I don't think the time has yet come when we need to start rapidly filling our bunkers with guns, drugs, porn, and toilet paper. But it's a-comin'.

In my country there are currently no signs of price increases, they are still at a normal level but maybe in other countries especially in the US their citizens are already feeling the impact of the increase. I think it is only a matter of time before all countries affected by Trump tariffs feel the impact, and regarding hoarding goods, there is nothing wrong if you do it as long as you do the right calculations considering that many certain goods especially food have expiration dates and are easily damaged.

Depends on the nation, usually things aren't that bad for nations that have no tariff war, so if you are in a nation that has no tariff war troubles then we are going to not see or feel any troubles. In fact, because USA is having this "battle" for tariffs with some nations, they are going to have their dollar devalued, and that means, if you are not one of the nations they are having trouble with, the dollar value will go down while our currency will be fine. So that means our deals will be better. The only nations that benefit from this, are the ones who have no quarrel with USA at the moment, and that allows you to do a much better job. Not that many big nations left, but some are still not in fight with him.

Now we have another reason to stockpile food and other essential supplies due to the Iran-Israel war in the Middle East. As you know, the Middle East is the world's most important source of oil and gas. Furthermore, Iran may decide to close the Strait of Hormuz, as you've heard, which is one of the world's most important oil arteries. A war will certainly cause energy prices to rise.
In addition, of course, to the impact of the tariff hike, the results of which will soon become apparent, we will see higher prices and global inflation. Therefore, I believe it is wise to stockpile some essential goods that may be more affected than others before the expected rise begins.

For the time being Iran has the upper hand and is bombing Israel back to stone age. The conflict has not expanded horizontally so the effect on energy price is minimal (10-15% rise). However, if NATO decides to get involved (more than they already have) it will start the next World War and energy price is going to be the least of the global concerns...

They better not get involved when Iran retaliates fully, they are not Hamas and any action from NATO would be met with strong resistance from Iran and their allies, Israeli was first to launch an attack and started the show and NATO kept quiet, they should remain observers to the matter while Iran and Israel iron out their differences, else there would be real power tussles at various levels, sides would be taken and a real world economic and possible physical war would erupt. Currently, Iran has fired 370 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones at Israel in just 4 days of conflict and as at this morning, 24 people have been killed and 592 injured. Meanwhile, tensions are building up and investors are already panicking on the possibilities of oil transport routes blockage leading to more increase in the price of oil as the more ships change routes and travel for longer to arrive at their destination, the higher the cost of transportation and the higher the cost of oil. IMF also has it that in developed countries, there is an 0.4% inflation rise for every 10% increase in the price of oil. So the more the this rift between them escalates, the panics increases and if the price of oil keeps increasing like that, then inflation would definitely hit most countries that rely on them for oil and alternatively other countries that depend on the already affected countries for importation of their goods.

The early effect of tariffs might not be apparent on CPI numbers instantly. If you look closely, you will notice the shrinkflation, declining quality, supply-chain shifts, and many more changes after announcing tariffs.
Actually, the main fact is, when your confidence breaks down in anything, your behaviour will change very fast. Just as when inflation comes, consumer confidence breaks, and they respond fast, that is the main reason for raising prices. Most often, consumers go where the hype goes. When a large number of them act on intuition, the market eventually reflects it. So, price follows people's actions more than policy.

I hope that what we and the world fear will not happen, and that this regional war will not turn into a global war if the United States or NATO decide to intervene to help Israel. A war will only bring devastation and destruction and will cause significant harm to both countries and to the global economy. However, in the event of a third world war, yes, as you mentioned, the problem of energy prices will be the least of the world's concerns, because this time, a war could destroy a large part of the entire globe if nuclear weapons are used. I hope that the war ends quickly and that the leaders reach mutually satisfactory understandings that end the armed conflict.

For me, the tariff war is temporary, it won't last because no one wants it, including Trump. Because American consumers and businesses are also being affected and impacted heavily, not just other countries. If this situation continues and becomes more serious, it will only reduce confidence in Trump and the Republican Party, and worse, reduce the world's confidence in the US dollar.
It's all short-term and temporary, so I don't think we need to worry too much, I believe that before the end of the year, the tariff agreements will be completed.
Even if the US manages to secure a deal among several countries, the damage of tariffs would be irreversible. Especially when merchants are reluctant to lower prices due to greed. A tariff deal will only prevent goods from rising in price any further. Just like how inflation rates work. The central bank might help lower inflation with its policies, but won't result in an immediate reduction in the cost of goods and/or services within the short-term. Only that the rate in which prices will increase would be slowed down. Now with geopolitical tensions persisting (especially in the Middle East), the global economy will get worse. Oil prices are already on the rise, while Trump imposed an additional 50% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. I guess it's too late for a recovery. We'll see what happens in the near future.

The effects are slowly showing in the energy markets and it is not just the price, it is also the supply that is being disrupted. For example this morning 3 big oil tankers collided and they caught fire in the Oman Sea. That is supply damaged and will show up in the market as well. You see, US regime is trying to disrupt the global navigation systems including GPS in the region to try to disrupt the navigation of Iranian missiles that are hitting Israel every day (they don't use GPS though!). This disruption is causing these collisions in the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Yeah man, its starting to hit. The data is just now catchin up to whats really happenin in stores. People ain't crazy for thinkin about it.
Check it out, the St. Louis Fed did a deep dive and found prices for stuff like furniture, cars, and electronics are goin up way faster than normal. They say tariffs are already explainin a decent chunk of inflation right now. So that "next few months" fear is pretty much now.
As for hoardin... lmao. Dude, its wild. Surveys say like 4 in 10 Americans are stockpilin or plannin to. They're callin it "doom spending". Even some folks inside the admin are reportedly doin it. So you're not the only one thinkin about it.
My two sats? Buyin a few extra non-perishables you'll actually use is smart, but goin full doomsday prepper on credit cards is a bad plan. The real price hike might get spread out, and we're in uncharted territory. It's chaos out here
The effect of tariffs on the economy doesn't happen overnight. Slowly but surely, prices of goods will increase. I'm thinking next year, Americans will feel most of the pain. Not surprised about the stockpiling, though. It's our best bet to save money as much as possible. Buying in bulk is the way to go. Imagine what will happen by the end of Trump's term (2028). Inflation will be so high, that it would be impossible to live in America. Other countries (most notably the EU) will perform better. Perhaps, the disturbance of the US economy will lead towards the weakening of the USD? Investors are already showing signs of skepticism with Trump's tariffs and uncertainty surrounding the FED. At least, Bitcoiners have nothing to worry about. Right?

I don’t think full-on hoarding makes sense tbh. That usually creates the very shortages people fear. Prices from tariffs tend to filter through slowly via supply chains, not overnight. Stocking a bit extra of essentials you already use is fine, but panic buying usually hurts regular folks more than it helps.

Hoarding might encourage vendors to raise prices due to high demand. Perhaps, people need to buy more slowly to avoid things from spiraling out of control. Yet at the same time, stockpiling on goods helps you save money in the long run. I guess it's all about long-term planning. Tariffs benefit the government more than the people, as companies pass on the extra costs to the consumer. It's ultimately a losing game. Americans are waiting for Trump to keep up with his promises of abolishing the IRS after proceeding with his tariff rate hikes. Keeping the tariffs and the income tax will result in severe pain to the economy. Maybe I'm wrong?

Hoarding goods will only benefit some people who have a lot of money but this will harm other people, especially the poor, because after goods become scarce, it will result in panic buying among the people so that the price of goods rises to 2x, for example, when we are experiencing a disaster, at that time usually the rich will play their role to hoard basic necessities and after that they will sell them to ordinary people at a much higher price so that for people who need them they are forced to buy at a high price to survive, hoarding goods is not a solution to avoid tariff increases but in this case the government must make changes or an agreement regarding tariff increases so that they do not soar so that people live in prosperity.

He lies constantly. This has become his daily duty to his voters. People are starting to wake up from their delirium. I would seriously stock up on food and essentials. America is on the brink of civil war.

Nah. The real collapse of the US economy will happen once the world moves away from the USD (a process otherwise known as "De-Dollarization"). It's already happening as we speak. Ultimately, China and Russia will take over the world establishing a "New World Order". Trump's uncertain trade policies and the risk of the FED losing its independence, will add more fuel to the fire. The tariffs pain is just getting started. Not only Americans will pay a heavy price, but also the whole world. There's only one way to fix this and that is by adopting BTC as the official, global currency. Sounds like a dream, but anything's possible. Right?
