Both are good, but when compared to Bitcoin in terms of returns, Bitcoin is far superior. Gold offers stable returns, and while it does yield returns, those returns are usually insignificant, even over the long term, unlike Bitcoin, which offers very significant returns, especially over the long term.
And I would feel foolish choosing gold over Bitcoin for substantial returns, even if I had to share. Because Bitcoin is an opportunity and is also the best asset or investment among others today, and nothing can match it in terms of returns.

Gold isnt trying to "do the same" because its playing a completely different game. Its been a store of value for millennia, not just a decade or so. But you cant say it cant make new ATHs because quite the opposite is evident from its history of doing just that, over and over again.

Bro, I totally agree with @Stalker22 here, Gold has been around for centuries, and it's been a store of value, and even a currency for some civilizations, and since then, it has been getting more and more expensive, so I'm not sure how you are saying that it wouldn't be able to do the same when it has been doing it even before Bitcoin existed.

I personally believe that we shouldn't be comparing Bitcoin with Gold because both are completely different things. One is a precious metal with a physical existence and recognition all around the world, another is a digital cryptocurrency that doesn't have a physical form but has a limited supply and hence a higher value based on its demand in the market. Gold can't compete with Bitcoin's value because Bitcoin's supply is way less than Gold's, whereas Bitcoin can't compete with Gold because it's more recognised and accepted in the world.

So, it depends on what a person wants to achieve, because both are good, and both have different properties, pros and cons.

But reality is, it’s not just all about prices surging high and skyrocketing, stability is also a crucial factor when it comes to choice of investing.

Bitcoin will not replace Gold, they were created for different purposes, and one is centralised, while the other is decentralised. Nonetheless, complementing each other is a very good point, but that depends on the person. They can complement each other if the person is interested in both. But they can't complement each other if the person is only interested in either of them.

I don't even see any reason why someone should be worried about this, i don't know if BTC will replace gold as the main store of value, but i know that BTC has made a whole lot if progress in such a short time and who can tell what will happen in the future.

The two assets are great, they have their different advantages; if you are a wise investor who not diversify into the both of them and then seee if BTC would replace gold holding the two assets in your possession.

I do not know what people are worried about. I guess they measure success of bitcoin to whether it will replace gold or fiat eventually. But even without doing those things, bitcoin is already successful.

The two assets are great, they have their different advantages; if you are a wise investor who not diversify into the both of them and then seee if BTC would replace gold holding the two assets in your possession.

It has been wise advice to diversify. You should pick carefully and gold and bitcoin are among the safest choices.

I'm optimistic about Bitcoin as a viable alternative to gold as a store of value. Imagine Bitcoin is just over a +decade old, but it's already a viable option for storing value. Isn't this evidence of its year-over-year increase in value? I mean realistically, no other asset has been able to match gold over the decades other than Bitcoin.
When it comes to usability, we all need flexibility, right? And have you ever heard of someone traveling anywhere in the world carrying a pile of gold?
Don't even mention fiat currencies, because fiat currencies themselves are no longer backed by gold.

If bitcoin and gold are both presented before me and I am asked to choose only one, I would happily choose bitcoin any day and any time.
And if for example, I am blindfolded and asked to choose on a piece of paper, bitcoin or gold, and I mistakenly choose gold, I will be very angry with my self for making such a mistake..

I am not saying that Bitcoin will replace gold because in as much as bitcoin is doing better than gold at the moment, gold still have some really important uses in the world most especially in the fashion industry, so golds existence can never be over emphasized, but gold and bitcoin can peacefully co-exist together, the physical gold can serve the utility it provided in the world or fashion while bitcoin being the digital form of gold can serve well in the world of investment.

No one denies that Bitcoin can yield better returns than gold, as bitcoin is a speculative asset and still small, while gold is already a safe haven and is huge. But don't forget that the higher the return, the greater the risk, bitcoin is much riskier than gold.
Also, making x10 profit from bitcoin is not easy in these days. Bitcoin has matured somewhat and the growth rate is slowing down significantly.

Investing in bitcoin can give better returns than many other investments but it will not make us rich with $100 or $10k.

It depends, not everyone likes volatility and risk. There are still many people who prefer the stability and safety of gold, and that is why bitcoin has not yet surpassed gold in terms of capitalization.

I do recommend that you should check the price history index of BTC over the years and on how much of its price skyrocketed in the last ten (10) years. Moreover, with its hard cap supply of 21 million, it is estimated that by the year 2140 all of it will be mined giving it another reason for its price to increase as it supply drops.

With that kind of simple explanation, you can decide for yourself on which is better. However, for me personally, I recommend that you purchase both and diversify your portfolio by tapping into all kinds of investments either short or long-term.

Yes it can give a lot of return in Bitcoin a day but gold cannot give it. Do you think Bitcoin is more ahead of gold? As far as I know, gold is the most popular and the use of gold is almost everywhere. And the damage that took place after World War II protects from all kinds of complications during the disaster. But Bitcoin is digital coins and it is very high, but it will take a long time to go to gold.  But at present, Bitcoin can give more return than gold. If you have less money, you will not be able to invest more by investing in Bitcoin. On the other hand, if the price of Bitcoin should be invested depending on it, then it is possible to get more profit for a short time. It is possible to benefit from investing in Bitcoin and if the market is down, then there may be a possibility of harm. But I think Bitcoin is just as popular as gold. Although gold is stable, Bitcoin will not be able to move forward than gold. Gold will play the most role in avoiding any bad situation.

Gold is being mined constantly and no one can say how much its supply can be, yet its price is very high in the world market and the demand is very high and gold is said to be more powerful than money. In the physical world, people think of land and gold as powerful assets. But in the digital world, Bitcoin is very expensive like gold and a big advantage of Bitcoin is that the total max supply of Bitcoin is determined and everyone knows how much Bitcoin will be mined at the maximum. And according to the supply of Bitcoin, the global population is many times more. So if the demand for Bitcoin increases in the world market, its supply will never catch up, so as time goes by and the demand increases, the price of Bitcoin continues to increase. Bitcoin is already pumping incredibly. And people's weakness towards Bitcoin is increasing. I will not say that Bitcoin is better than gold in terms of investment because gold is much less volatile but Bitcoin is much more volatile so although it is possible to make big profits very quickly in Bitcoin there is a lot of risk here due to which if someone is able to take this risk then Bitcoin will definitely be better than gold because Bitcoin can yield much more profit compared to all other assets at the same time.

Thanks for the correction, I agree with you, and I also understand all these, but let me say I overlooked the generalisation of centralisation of Gold itself. In that sense, gold is decentralised, but in the sense I wanted to use it, the government can still locate "your Gold" and find a way to confiscate it by force.

But with a decentralised system like Bitcoin, it is a self-custody arrangement, and even if they know you have the asset, they have absolutely no power over it, unless you submit it to them by yourself.

Because lets be real, bitcoin is now sitting at number 6th top asset by market cap and only require a small price change to overtake amazon.

Bitcoin did this just within a decade. Right now people are considering bitcoin as hedge against inflation and to store their wealth trying to be alternative to gold.

If you're concerned about long term saving just see bitcoin's chart for the past decade. But my point is, bitcoin is doing so damn well within a decade that it's being called digital gold for a reason.
