How do you invest small amounts outside of crypto?

If not that you specified that crypto is not among the things you things you are looking for, I would have recommended Bitcoin because it has remained the best investment asset and starting investment on Bitcoin is very easy. Outside cryptocurrency,  it is deficcult to find out  asset that one can invest with small money  and hope it yield it yield profits

You know, when it comes to discussions like this, different opinions will come in, so to me, I will say stock. Since you said outside the crypto, I will go for stock. Because you know everyone will choose what he feels will work for him and other things that will be easy to go for. Real estate is also good, but you said small capital, and everyone knows that real estate requires a lot of money to get started. Even if you want to invest, it requires big money. You can’t have a thousand dollars and think of investing in real estate.

I think this will depend on your instinct, your location, your way of life, and the available resources around you because you will need all these before you can set up a small-scale business for yourself, unlike crypto investment, where you can just buy and hold your coin without any third party being involved.

If you are in a rural area, or you have access to a rural area where grains and cash crops are being produced, you can buy them during harvest and sell them when the price is high; this also has its own risk, but it is profitable, and you can use a small amount of money as capital to start.

Furthermore, if your money is big enough, you can venture into real estate investment to get a property for a future purpose, or you can buy gold.

It depends on your country and what works there. Speaking generally, bitcoin is just one guaranteed investment you can start small with DCA.  You do not need to break the bank to invest in bitcoin just like one would do with real estate and some other kinds of of investment.

But before you even consider bitcoin with your small capital, you must have a consistent source of income and a long term mindset for you to be able to navigate through volatility and arrive at a profit.

Do not fall for scammers. Many will come to you with get rich quick offers, be smart to know when it's so good to be true. Study your environment closely and decide what you want to do.

It's always challenging to take the first step forward and more challenging to keep it going. Unfortunately, location plays a vital role in situations like this and what work for Mr A location might not work well in Mr B location. I will recommend based on what work well here with a little capital. Airtime and data subscription is the perfect way to get started here when you have limited money at hand. Our lives are now programmed that we can not longer stay a day without accessing Internet. Likewise, we make use of airtime on daily basis which makes this two a lucrative business with high demand. Having a good location to settle down or building up a reliable customers is the major challenges but once you're able to conquer, you are good to go. Afterwards, you can think of diversifying including crypto.

Yes OP removed the option of cryptocurrency and that is where most of us are specialized, we know that Bitcoin is one of the best investments that you can start with very small amount. There are many profitable investments that are reliable to invest in like real estate but the problem is that you need substantial amount of money to start, there are others too but it won't help to mention them because OP specifically mentioned small amounts. Another investment that is outside cryptocurrency and you can start with small amounts is digital gold, although I've not done extensive research on it but from what I understand investors can buy and hold, then wait for it to appreciate and sell because gold is a store of value.

i think the term 'small amount' is perceptive to different individuals

but if i think about me for small amounts if i don't have to worry about cashing it out

i'd still go with stocks, just dyor find out 1 promising stock

and go all in on it, when u have a little amount to invest..
 
u don't have the luxury to diversify so my suggestion would be something

which would always remain useful and put all on the money on one stock

and forget about it for like 5 years

I'd say that small amount would be anything up to 0 or 5% of your total wealth
this cover the range
if you have a lot of money than you can go to the lowest side of the spectrum, 0.1%? if you don't have a lot you go closer to 5% or up to what you are confortable losing
