IMO, it was never worth it.

I bought a Shiba Inu before, and it didn't take long before I sold it. I don't believe in the power of memecoins because they are literally made for fun, and no projects are made to back them up. They are relying on the community to boost their market, but it could all end anytime, which means a dangerous asset to keep.
Well, other people have a different perspective, especially if they find it cheap. They want to buy it for the sole purpose of selling it when the hype comes. But what if it never comes? That's also the dangerous part about it.

Yeah I agree and even half wrong at the same time. Because they are not created for fun or entertainment or anything like that, they are created so that the creator would get rich, nothing more. It is true that we should stay away from them and not make any investments into them at all.

I believe that we are not going to get any profits from them unless we are the first ones to invest into some memecoin that grows huge, and that is unlikely because there are hundreds out there every year and only one may grow semi decently, and in a few years there might be one that grows large. So it is the smart move to stay away from ALL memecoins and never buy one, in the end you are just funding the luxury life of the creator and nothing more.

Investing in Meme coins is just like gambling with your money and it's most likely you will end up losing money in Meme coin. A very recent example is Trump coin, it went up after few days of it's launch and since then it's down and out. Those who have bought it at high price are struck badly because they have no idea whether this coin will go up again or not. It's best to keep your focus on Bitcoin or on top Alts listed on coinmarketcap and you will get good return in the long term.

Shiba Inu created a whole of nouveau riché during the 2021 alts season. I don't know when you invested in that and if you left with profit or not. Yes, I know that most people are of the opinion that memecoins shouldn't be hedl for a long period but I also know that some people make stupendous ROI by hodling too.

Dogecoin was one of the few coins I bought in 2017 as a newbie when I joined this forum because its price was very low among the top listed coins on coin aggregator site. Then it used to be CMC site as our good to go site. I sold off some years later in profit. If I had hedl till it attained its ATH in 2021 I would've made massive ROI from that. Not all memecoins should be sold off early just the same way not all memecoins should be hedl for too long. We need to check their tokenomics and all that before generalizing that all are bad to hodl.

BTW, every project depends on a community to survive; including Bitcoin too.

Most meme coins these days are really just for short-term plays. You can ride along if you know the right timing for buying and selling. But when it comes to saying they’re good for the long term, I don’t really agree, because most of the time it will just give you false hope and eventually end up in a rug pull.

The problem with others is they get too hyped, so they decide to hold long-term. But when a rug pull happens, that’s it — their assets are stuck in the meme coins they bought
and believed were good for the long term, but in reality, they weren’t. Always be vigilant.

Buying and holding should be based on timing and it would not make sense when  an investor buys at every interval without timing the market unless they are making use of the DCA strategy which is mostly adopted by Bitcoin maximalists for accumulation of Bitcoin. Since price will always go up and down, timing when price will go dip and accumulate is the best way to stay profitable in the crypto market.

There are good and bad memecoins in the market and we should endeavor to buy and accumulate the good ones especially those ones that have been in the market for so many years with good team. Investors should stay away from new memecoins unless they want to gamble and the result can not be predictable.
