My friend is a gambler, a serious one for that matter. Some days ago he asked me to borrow him money to gamble and I told him not to borrow money to gamble but gamble with what he can afford to lose but he refused. Instead he went ahead to borrow from another person to pay back with interest, gues what?
He loss the game and now he is owing Capital and interest together that will surely be paid now he keeps blaming me that If I had given the loan to him, that he would have just owe me the capital without interest.

If they ask to borrow money, it means they're in a dangerous situation. It means they have a real gambling addiction, and that can only make things worse.
Lending money to these people is a mistake, you have to say no and you have to contact someone to help them.

I can tell you from my own experience it is better not to lend money  it does not matter if it is a friend, a relative or someone else. A person can gamble away what he asks you for this is usually what happens. And then, when he has nothing to pay back, he begins to ruin relations with you, swear, get offended, especially when you ask questions about the debt. If he gives it back once be prepared for the fact that after a while they will turn to you again. And next time you may not get your money back, and also lose a close relationship. If a person is dear to you it is better to set boundaries in matters with money from the very beginning.

Moreover, in such cases, everything often works against the player; when he plays with his own money, the probability of winning is always higher. Its like doing self destruction if you decide to do that. Since taking loan just for gambling purposes is crazy idea that a gambler would be made.

Number of suicide cases increase due to wrong decisions made by people, so if they don't want to experience the worst situation on their life they better take gambling lightly and only spend their available funds which they can afford to lose.

Also its not worth to risk anything especially if asked for loan then spend it on gambling.

I always say no shortcut to success, for someone to be successful it require a lot of sacrifice which should be taken in the process. lending money to gamble is just a big mistake because the risk will be too much if eventually the gambler loss everything. Making this kind of decision at first is the beginning of downfall because sometimes playing smartness like this always land someone in trouble. I don't advise anyone to borrow money to gamble because it beginning of his bankruptcy, the hope of winning will keep rising and a lot of money will be spent. I think the best way to gamble is to gamble with the little money you have but nowadays hope of gambler are very high that's why they take too much money so that they will be rich within a short period.

This situation of taking loan is becoming so alarming and it's one clear sign of gambling addiction and your friend should be very careful else it'll have a huge negative effects on his life and at such it's not good or appropriate to take up a loan for any reason, the tendency of paying back is definitely a hard one and it'll be either you lose both and end up with nothing. Nothing is worth risking to going miles in taking up a loan.

In as much as we agreed that is wrong to take loan to bet, because of fear to lose the money and be in debt. But on a contrary life is all about risk and many gamblers can attest that they have make double from the load they took to stake on a bet. We can really can call it foolish decision, its a risky choice but the aim is for one to be able to return the borrow funds if the bet goes wrong.

Gambling is a choice, and we must play responsibly. If one have no fund to stake i think he should take a break, then to incur debt. The obvious fact about gambling is that you lose more than you gain. such investment do not require the players to take loan to play it, since its a 50/50 chance.

Never ever take a loan to gamble it, it's the start of your downfall or it's the start of the downfall of that person trying to borrow money from you. Usually those the one borrowing are addicted already or already losing and taking a desperate move to either recover their losses or just really play, either way it's not a good idea to borrow or let a gambler borrow from you.

It's also a start of stacking debt, since they won't borrow if they have money to play with, right? If they lose, how they are going to pay? borrow to others again? and again and again until he's won't be able to pay anymore. One of the rules in gambling is, play only what you can afford to lose and don't use other people's money for your own desire.

Most are going to say taking a loan to gamble is bad, but IMO as long as you have the means to repay the loan who cares what the loan is for. It's all about being able to repay though. If you cannot repay unless you win, it's a bad idea.

People are quick to judge and say a gambler is stupid for borrowing money to gamble, but it’s not always like that.

Yes, some borrow out of desperation, but there are also those who are responsible. I believe the major reason people often go as far as taking up loans to continue gambling, probably after gambling and draining their bankroll is when they gamble with money that was initially meant for something else and then lost it. This would make them feel their only option left would be to take up some loan and attempt trying again to see if they'll be able to recover their losses. And this is the mistake that most gamblers often make, they forget at this point that the chances of losing the loan money is still very much high and they fail to consider the outcome if they also lose that money. The context of my post is due to the reply of the user that I quoted since he said that some game developer encouraged user to take loan due to their promise of winning big when they gamble.

That’s why I brought the responsible gambling terms since casino will never do that encouragement because this will lead to financial loss by players.

I knew casino doesn’t care if gamblers take loan. What I’m trying to say is casino will not advise that personally to players.
