Only if employees truly understand. Let's not forget, we’re talking about a retirement plan, something meant to be safe and stable in the long run. Bitcoin might be secure in terms of technology, but its value is highly volatile, so it won’t look “safe” to most people.

That’s why full exposure doesn’t really make sense. If someone does choose to include Bitcoin in their retirement or savings, maybe keeping it under 20% would be reasonable. It’s still a high-risk, high-reward investment, and for something like retirement, you want to protect your future, not gamble it all away.

Trump Signs Order that allows Cryptocurrencies in 401(k)s

Will it be a boost for Bitcoin?
It's not about bitcoin, but the approved order is about crypto in general, so if there should be an effect, it should be on altcoins, which Trump will prefer to sell the idea to his people.

For the meantime we don't know who among employees will want to use that; inflation alone is a disaster in saving fiat for years. Talk more of accumulating a shitcoin as part of your retirement which you might come back in the next 50 years to see all your years of hard work worth nothing unless you're lucky enough to choose coins that will be alive and valuable by then.

Since the SEC has been asked to set a standard policy on how that will be done, which I assume will clearly state the type of crypto to be allowed, let's wait and watch what they will come up with. I won't be surprised if altcoins are listed first and Bitcoin follows as an alternative.

Also crypto and the aged retirees are in the same category when it comes to Bitcoin as a retirement savings as a lock who gains in the long runs, the ETFs companies gain from the immediate Price gains, while the retiree's themselves are exposed to the long term volatilities of Bitcoin value, because most time, long term doesn't really translate into profits if the market goes opposite their expectations.

This may not be gamble if those assets are in bitcoin and not just in any cryptocurrency. The main point of discouragement is when the market remains volatile and you can’t afford to sell when you need the money the most. A retirement plan doesn’t mean you are keeping it throughout without taking profits, so that’s where the risky part of it comes to play, not being able to spend when you want to because I you sell, you’ll be at a big loss.

Using some percentage to be saved in bitcoin is a better approach and 20% is a fair bet on it. When you’re not using all your retirement savings into a volatile asset like bitcoin, you will have a more sustainable and projected future income target than using all of your savings in bitcoin.

the name of Bitcoin has done viral and the many people is even looking for the opportunity for them to have a Bitcoin I believe that most of retired workers who have a grown-up children will they like to accept the Bitcoin payment as option of their retirement benefits because it will serve as investment plan to them and it will not be easy for them to spend it as they will spend their Fiat currency so that is why most people may like to accept Bitcoin assumption of payment but people who is ignorant who have not known about Bitcoin will reject the payment of Bitcoin as a retirement benefit, for these are the two things that is involved for people to accept Bitcoin or not

Really the option of bitcoin for retirement is best suitable for individuals who understands the concept of bitcoin volatility so that they can always treat their financial obligations with caution with the aim of achieving a goal in the long run and should have it an insight of investment which is accompanied with risks of fluctuations on the potential to yield income and not just a source of savings with stability Aside this psycho path, I honestly don't find it problematic for retirees because retirement is not just coming in the next dark but on the long run which matches with the durability of good position for bitcoin investment because they won't be  need to sell so quickly.

Trump to Sign Executive Order Allowing Crypto in 401(k) Plans
Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order that would allow crypto and other alternative assets to be included in 401(k) retirement plans.

https://coingape.com/just-in-trump-to-sign-executive-order-allowing-crypto-in-401k-plans/

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order permitting alternative assets, including cryptocurrencies, in 401(k) retirement plans.
The move could open up $12.5 trillion in retirement savings to investment options traditionally limited to accredited investors.
The policy could reshape retirement planning by giving Americans access to more diverse and higher-growth investment options.

This is a very good policy for retirement but this depends if the individual will be ready to accept the idea of Trump, for those that supports Bitcoin is a welcome idea, but for those persons that does not love Bitcoin will find it very difficult to accept.

It’s still a high-risk, high-reward investment, and for something like retirement, you want to protect your future, not gamble it all away.

Bitcoin's volatility has dropped significantly and if you compare its volatility to some US stock indices, Bitcoin is even less volatile. Bitcoin is no longer a high-risk, high-return investment. Bitcoin has reached a market capitalization of nearly $2.4 trillion and has matured, it is no longer a new and risky asset.

Additionally, this executive order does not only allow the use of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in 401(k). There is also real estate, private equity, and I find that investing in bitcoin is even safer than investing in private equity. These are companies that are not listed on a stock exchange and are much riskier.

Jimmy: We missed out on the whole kinda sex-tech bubble, you know what I mean? Now they've got SexBook and F*ckFriends. And there's this thing called Grindr, which is just... your phone beeps when there's someone horny near you. It's kind of amazing. It's mostly guys, but I'm gonna find a girl pretty soon.

There is no way altcoins will come first it would surely be Bitcoin first, as it rightfully should be! These damn shitcoins. Honestly they will probably just open up every major ETF to the public that includes all the BTC options, ETH, maybe XRP and other stablecoins as well. I'm guessing there will come as a result of this mutual crypto funds that include a basket of cryptos and that type of thing. Sarson funds does this but they are more of only opened up to accredited investors, not retail stuff like most every day folks. This will surely drive up demand slightly, maybe not a ton but its an up tick for sure in the demand for the extremely limited BITCOIN

Exactly biggest problem with volatile asset means Bitcoin is that you might need to sell it when its value is low causing big loss. This is why putting small part of your money like you said 20% into Bitcoin is much better idea. This strategy is known as diversification which means you do not put all your money in one place. With doing this you can still hope for big gains from Bitcoin while keeping rest of your savings safe from its large price changes. It makes future plan much more stable and reliable.

Will it be a boost for Bitcoin?

I don't know why this looks like Zigzag movement to me without ending destination. It's everyday we see different executive orders. He can't do this alone unless he bribe the senators to pass bill to make crypto recognize and as legal tender. This is political movement than the actual movement itself, they are afraid the influence it will have on the market and at the same time they don't want to lose what they've build with the crypto community, they don't want to lose both house, politics is what they are doing here.

Unless we see Bitcoin as legal tender in US, at this point there is nothing new to Bitcoin that we haven't see all this year. It's either they make it legal or they keep whining the market as usual with their propaganda to love Bitcoin but the real truth is they are doing it in their own favor to keep Bitcoin community with them. I just hope that all this executive execution of things doesn't end with this government because if they are out of office, there is no immunity left for Bitcoin unless it's legally recognize before they leave the office.

Trump Signs Order that allows Cryptocurrencies in 401(k)s

Will it be a boost for Bitcoin?
It will be very interesting to hear from someone who lives in the United States, is a Bitcoin/Crypto enthusiast and thinks about retirement. I think that such a person on this forum is @philipma1957, so, I'll tag him here with the hope that he sees it and replies.

My opinion is that it will be a boost for Bitcoin. Up to 30% of US adult population is into 401 retirement plan. 17% of US adult population owns Bitcoin. I don't know what's the number of those who are into retirement plan and also own Bitcoin but it will be very interesting information to know. It's also very interesting to know how many of them are interested in Bitcoin and how big of a money flow we will see into Bitcoin's market cap. I assume that over the years, we will see a significant portion of money flowing into Bitcoin. Another interesting ting that we know is that 401(k) asset base is $8.7T and Bitcoin's market cap is $2.3T
