Walmart Great Value ranch dressing bottles are, at the top, maybe an inch in diameter. There is an insert that goes into the opening to reduce the hole to a little over an eighth of an inch. This is so that the dressing doesn't come out too fast... for folks who don't want to take the time to be careful with how much dressing jumps out of the bottle.

For a long time the economy was so bad that WM didn't put this insert into the bottles of dressing. It was their saving feature... all that insert plastic costs money. The people can do without, and simply take the time to carefully regulate the flow of dressing. The people can take responsibility for their lives, even in the amount of dressing they dump on their salad.

But, now, the insert is back. The economy improved enough that WM can afford to put the inserts back in the bottles... something that other companies can't afford to do yet.

My only other thought about this is, government ordered WM to start using the inserts again. Government found that the people were waking up too much by having to take responsibility for their lives by regulating the flow of dressing that came out of the bottles.

These small details actually become quite important when it comes to mass production and mass consumption. In fact, this isnt just something necessary for producers. implementing such measures is a good thing for reducing waste worldwide.

Cracks after beginning to show, we will head into a significant recession starting next year but not before a blow off top in everything. Act accordingly!

Ranch dressing is your best way to move away from statistics? Is that from some temu version of The Onion?

You can tell when TACO is removing a person delivering unfavorable statistics (which btw sounds like an old soviet union joke) it's hurting deep. Since MAGA's see it as non-issue, and this is the issue you rather talk about. Meanwhile President is playing diddler on the roof like a lost old man to move focus from Epstein files.

And btw, when it comes to lower gas prices you mentioned, you would think that tens of billions of dollars in a year U.S. citizens taxpayer money, used to subsidizing gas prices would be "big government" in my book. But i guess free markets is something magas don't believe, among the logic, scientific method, numbers and reality in general.

Thank you all. That's some interesting stuff you say. But ranch dressing inserts is a thing I watch because I like the control the inserts give. I am unhappy when they are gone.

However, there is a problem with the inserts. I have found that they don't always fit the bottle tight enough. So, I have to hold the insert in, so that I don't get a big mess all over my salad. Keeps me awake.

I wish there were more logical answers to this thread like those already given.

Regarding the Fed, the whole banking system is the thing that is causing trouble between nations in the world. Once you understand the simple bottom line regarding how the banking system works, and how it 'farms' the people who use the currency it supports, you will see that it is the reason for inflation and all the bad things in America.

It makes me wonder what the corrects steps to follow are. On one hand, it is expected to see the price of Bitcoin following the decrease of value of stocks in the United States, if a recession takes place, then it will be likely many people will find themselves in a situation in which they need to liquidate their position to afford the most important things, like food and shelter. It is always easy to hold and just accumulate satoshis through time. However if your prediction is true and if we are going to see a recession in the second term of Trump, one could feel tempted to sell at these prices and buy back after the news of the recession reaches the market.

Anyways, the only think I would expect from a Trump administration is cheaper fuel prices, helping the prices of products to go down. it does not matter though, because tariffs are going to increase prices in general after all.

Well, it seems like the government has nothing to do with the change, the dressing insert now becomes a metaphor , when things becomes hard, we learn how to adjust and be careful in decisions making and be very deliberate about it. As a society becomes more prosperous, we the citizens often trade small opportunities in favour for ease. We prefer the quick and shortcut process in our daily activities even if it cost us more losses or even losing our touch of skill. The return of Walmart’s Great Value ranch dressing bottle may seem insignificant but it shows how economics, responsibilities and convenience intersect.

Well, this is embarrassing. Seems that I made a mistake (not sure about it) in the OP. All this while that I was missing the insert in the salad dressing bottles, the inserts were really there. It's just that they were stuck in the cap. When I unscrewed the cap, the insert came off right along with the cap.

It would be nice if WM would expand the width of the inserts slightly, so that they would stay in the bottle... or shrink the bottles slightly for the same effect.

Maybe WM is making the inserts easy to remove because some people don't want them there in the first place, because they dump the dressing onto big bowls of salad for parties, etc. But they have gone too far in making them stick in the caps.

If we often listen to the news, we can hardly hear the media claiming the economy is getting worse, instead they keep telling us its better when it is not being felt by the people in the society and the same things we have been used to over time continue to be the same way without change, have we check on the economic growth, the population and the production aspect to know how the GDP is over decades, is poverty reduction felt or we are seeing an increase in it, what about employment rate, not to even talk more on who educational aspect works with the less privilege in the society.
