Sometimes I wonder why bookmakers pay some leagues to sell out their games in order for gamblers to lose, it Doesn't always make much sense to me because these platforms make a lot of money. The percentage of people that gamble on a daily basis is a lot and if you the number of people that lose everyday you'd find out that it's more than the number of persons winning, this is why I said rigging doesn't make any sense to me

Sometimes I think that the big leagues might also do something fraudulent they could have made an agreement with the club and other online gambling sites also agree to the same thing but with a commensurate reward if they are forced to give in, I think like this because sometimes it's a little strange for me when a club has a high chance of winning like @1.40 while the opposing team has a very low chance for example @5.00 and when most people choose the odds that are the favorites, the opposite happens, indeed in football is full of surprises but it's strange in my opinion but I also don't know what really happens behind the big match.

We as bettors cannot really do anything about games being rigged, fixed or not. We should just hope that everything well with our choices and hope for the best, we nor control the future nor have the possibility of access to these secretly being fixed games so as I said the best we can do is to study hard the games we are about to place our bets or the single game if we are going to place a single bet. We cannot really make a profit out of this unless you have some knowledge of someone who is been involved in that, when lotto clubs were all over the place of where I live people knew people and we somehow found out fixed game of the national league that we could place bet on bet365 or sbobet at that time. Major leagues and their teams have so much to loose if they're found to be involved in rigging, they wouldn't want to risk the reputations that they've built, besides they're already very rich without being involved in rigging. You know in our local league, it's known and speculated that the games from the PBA could have been rigged. But sometimes, we prove that we are wrong and it's not a real thing. Although there are moments that the obviousness is there. It's hard to say with the bigger leagues but we are not declining that there is a huge possibility that it actually is. Some odd moves could be found into these sports that we sometimes think if they're intentional or they just wanna draw the odds that have been bet for through the prop that's listed in the bookies.

Well from my little knowledge about this, although major leagues are really hard to fix which is why it's mainly done once in a while because the amount used to fix it is actually huge until lower ranked leagues. Yes, Juventus was penalised for match fixing and they were sent back to Serie B for that as punishment.

Not long ago I was reading a thread here about a player that got involved with match fixing and he was observed and that brought an end to his career. It can take many years to build trust and reputation but just in a day everything can be ruined because of greed and I don't think any of those major leagues can sacrifice their reputation to cheat gamblers. The big leagues are the least likely to be involved in any match fixing or rigging with a few exceptions. Sometimes there is overspending by certain teams that allow them to breach or manipulate the caps on spending, which you might argue is breaking the rules and giving them an unfair advantage. A few European/UK football clubs have been penalized for these sort of actions and it did seem to help them to victory, but we're talking about spending 1.1 billion instead of 1 billion type thing - way beyond the sums an average person would see in their lifetime. All of the sports you listed already make a lot of money from the franchise and ticket sales that, as long as they are well managed and not burdened with a heavy debt load, they should be able to walk away with a profit each year.

My answer to this is that I don't know the answer myself because I have never investigated whether there is any direct match fixing with the leagues.
And I don't think it would be possible for a common man to know so much about it. However, it is true that some players or umpires of some teams are involved in match fixing, it has been proven and many players or umpires have been punished for it. But that doesn't mean that the entire team or league is involved in match fixing.

I'm not sure if a major league would manipulate something like this, but does anyone here know what happened to soccer player Andres Escobar? The soccer player scored an own goal and was then murdered as he left the field. From this incident, we can see more deeply whether manipulation can occur in the major leagues. Those leagues and the clubs are already making billions of dollars legitimately by selling tickets to their matches, selling broadcast rights for those matches and not even mention the merchandise and collectibles associated with the teams and star players of the most reputable clubs in the world. Would it be actually about money? Because they already have a very liquid and huge business, without scamming and scheming against the betting population of the world, you know.
I am not saying it is impossible, people who have money always wants to have more, after all, but it is very unlikely.

Besides, we would be talking about an scandal with hundreds of people involved, players, trainers, staff members and club owners. A secret of that size being shared among so many people would not stay a secret so much time.

Major leagues will not allow this to happen; they are a multi-billion-dollar industry, and they have all the means to catch cheaters and those who offer bribes to fix the games.

Only small players will cooperate in game fixing, as big names protect their livelihood and the reputation they have built over the years.

You probably don't understand how betting works, bookmakers are in profit no matter the outcome. They don't need to deceive the crowd because mathematics is on their side and they win without deception. But the opposite happens quite often and players (even top teams) try to make money on bookmakers. In team sports, one player cannot radically change the course of the game, but can make the desired outcome of the type "received a yellow card at such-and-such a minute." But such cases are revealed if those who are in the scheme are greedy - it is obvious that if the bet is abnormally large on such an outcome, then there may be something fishy there.

I do not think that the league rigs the game to beat bettors, and gives the bookie a huge amount of winnings.  I believe if ever the league fix the game, it is for the benefit of the league to earn more money.  Like, for example, making a boxing fight a draw even though there is an evident  winner, just to make a rematch or a trilogy.  In a team match like soccer or basketball, a strategic plan of losing the leading team in a finals to extend the series and cater more revenue from the audience is also possible, but I really don't think that the league is working with the bookie to win some commision.

In that context, the amount from betting is close to nothing, there's a lot at stake like the club value, sponsors, advertisement deals, venue ticket sales, satellite streaming rights, and online streaming rights since these leagues are nothing but a business model. SO who is in control of these things may want the results in favour by exchanging their profits to the other team and I won't deny the possibility of happening.

And if the league will resort to this route, they have very good reason to do so. Because if not, it is their reputation on the line. I am not aware of any major league or major sports organization that has done or attempted to do this, but this is a public crime, and the government will likely intervene.

Sports organizations are regulated and licensed by the government, which can impose heavy penalties and take over the organization to prevent future rigging. If the organization is the mastermind, someone or some people will expose them, the organization should pay all those involve huge amount so they can shut them out from exposing them.

This is sensitive issue because here many things on stake which can destroy this league and club as well because no one wants to talk about anything which is creating chaos and also matter of notoriety.
