mind to share your criterias? And please don't say: "because of the name!" The name doesn't bring any value to the coin. I' following this coin since a long time, but nearly all I see is two ppl trying to help the coin, and the rest is just waiting to make some money. On my list, SMC is the least profitable coin right now. In fact, in my area I would lose money mining it (because of power costs), and with the 10000 other alt coins out there, there is exactly no reason to switch to SMC right now. MY criterias are:

1. profitability (of course, power needs to be paid)
2. algo (scrypt is outdated, and every newer algo consumes a lot less power, produces less heat and is not ASIC mineable)
3. community support (as I said, two ppl are trying to help the coin, the rest just waits)

So, what are your criterias? Maybe I'm missing something. But at the moment, I don't see any reason to mine this coin.

Other than ideas and some scypt asic mining of this to my wallet there isn't much I can do as I don't program. This needs a week (5-7 days) of x-11 and then switch to pos keeping the total amount of coin under 25mil.  This would make it on par with libertyCoin in popularity of name, in type amount of coin, and point of staking. To rise above it would need to get some kind of anonymity integration in either the coin it's self like Zerocoin or a mixer (launderer) like darksend or coinjoin to set it's self a part. Just starting and announcing that it will go this way would bring this out of the altcoin basement and get it up on its way to the penthouse.

- coins that are on MINTPAL (which is the biggest exchange now)
- coins that are on Cryptsy and other exchanges (which constantly are losing value because of bots doing deals on Cryptsy)

true, but there is also another big problem (in fact it's two problems):

1. a lot of coins are beeing hold by a few ppl (bagholders), which means noone will invest fresh btc into this coin just to let the others dump their coins
2. there is still (correct me if i'm wrong) a big chunk of the pre-mine missing. 250,000 coins are still missing (!!!) - I don't need to explain what that means...

So, what can you do with your SMC? In fact, you can do nothing with it. You can of course trade them on the exchanges, but you can do that with every other alt-coin out there.

If there should be any problem related to the missing coins, i would be more than happy to donate 250.000 new coins for the purpose.

don't see how this coin is going to come to something, why? because we all are the same.
we sit, wait for something to happen with SMC or someone pumping SMC for no particular reason, just because it has a nice name while literally nobody is doing anything for this coin except writing things like "we have to, we should"
old dev literally destroyed this coin.

we NEED an IRC channel and we all HAVE to hang out there in order to make something happen and communicate. forums are always so static.

Agree with IRC channel, Little pump would be healthy for this coin just to show that we're still alive.
Other thing is, multipools are automatically selling smc's on Cryptsy which is quite bad for coin Value.

The main reason it needs to go pos. It can be done several coins have done it. I don't program so I can't do it.

Can't agree with you, try to set buy order for (let's say) 100k SMC on Cryptsy below 170 sat. I bet you will wait 2-3 hours and someone will start selling at this price with small packs 64-128 smc's. I know what I'm writing because I've done it twice last week.

They are listing coins daily, no need to pay if everyone votes every hour.. Could be listed in a few days, MintPal is going to take a while to be listed.. <<93   SMC   Smartcoin   1HvvR6MGEhyLGVRhM4ei9ei1QYAc4YUDQf    1073 votes is a very long way away from being listed..
