It is hard to be a BTC critic now you know, BTC's success would make you look foolish and you either make a u-turn, or stand your ground about BTC while you accumulate secretly, i believe Peter Schiff chose the latter option. This is why we as a community should not even be wasting time with attention seekers who say wrong things about BTC, they enjoy it when some of us cry over their statements. If anyone cannot see the BTC revolution, then i am sorry we don't have time to convince you.

It may seem difficult to some to criticize Bitcoin at this point, but if you've been doing it for more than 10 years, then you've probably become so used to what you're saying that it's almost impossible to start saying anything different. I think he just can't help himself, but he probably doesn't want to because he's too deep into the gold business.

This seems like the classic story about whether gold or Bitcoin is better, but in my opinion it's a completely pointless comparison that people are wasting their time on.

Some people, especially from the old league, are too stubborn to see through what they initially thought about anything, not only BTC..

So I think its not verified that Schiff is mining Bitcoin and maybe they made that post as part of their publicity stunt since they provably could get lots of attention especially if they can convince Schiff to operate a Bitcoin miner at home.

But I still don't believe on Schiff claims since he provably just want some exposure from Bitcoin community.

That guy spent perhaps a decade bashing bitcoin and now after it broke $100K he is finally a believer. He also had some donation address posted on his Twitter and people donated.

So I guess he loves bitcoin now that is makes him richer but all those years convincing everybody it’s a bad investment instead of gold means nothing now. His son is different. He invested in bitcoin years ago. They had a mini brawl a few years ago on Twitter if i recall correctly.

He is a believer now? You probably miss something because he doesn’t flip so easily. He will take it to the grave imo. He will always be a bitcoin hater. I can believe that this is happening, because the world is full of people who behave quite strangely - so instead of donating the funds to those who really need it, they send the money to someone who later calls them stupid for doing it - which is kind of true. What's even weirder is that I think they would do it again if he asked for the same thing.

Isn't at-home Bitcoin mining dead? It's funny that he was rewarded a miner that generates -$5 monthly, he won't make a profit. And it's also funny to read lottery mining success stories on Braiins's website because I bet that those solo miners had significantly higher hashrate than the one that Braiins mini miner provides.

I assume, it's a marketing for Braiins. Why should someone waste a time on this? It's a $300 worth product which generates minus $5 profit and there is a very, very low chance of hitting the reward in this ever-growing mining difficulty. He will probably throw it in a trash bin but he could have been paid a lot for this picture.

More than his ego, I really do believe he is just dragging the whole skit. He is probably enjoying stirring up the entire community every time he posts. He basically is a definition of what a rage baiter is. And people fall for it every time. It's a huge mistake to seriously take what rich economic experts say to people. I believe that many people wouldn't invest in Bitcoin because of his negative advice but I do not blame him because after all, we have to use our mind and do not be dependent on others. It's very sad but this guy makes money from his mistakes, those who donate him money are too naive. He doesn't love Bitcoin, he abuses the naive people and uses the environment that he created for his own benefit and he does it very well.

That is interesting point of view. You believe it is  mistake to blindly follow financial experts especially with Bitcoin. And many people missed chance to invest because of one expert negative advice but people should think for themselves. You are pointing out that this expert might be making money from his negative views and that people who support him are so simple who are just believing him. And that is right that he is taking advantage of situation he created for his own gain other than being sincere.

It seems interesting that Peter Schiff continues to publicly insult Bitcoin by judging as risky and less valuable than gold, but at the same time he somehow manages to, secretly, possess some of it through his Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. It is somewhat hypocritical but it also indicative that even critics are aware of the potential of Bitcoin. I believe this is an important lesson to keep in mind not to just believe what people say but rather on what it is that Bitcoin is doing.

Yeah, that's true. I also remember when JP Morgan was always talking about Bitcoin in a negative tone but they have since retraced their steps. Bitcoin got too big despite all their negative PR and we're now positioned for a global adoption now that several countries all want a piece of the pie.

Yes he might be a nobody among the crypto people (actually I think some crypto people love to hate him for some weird reason which I can’t explain) but he has hundreds of thousands of followers on various social media platforms.

He can make a bigger headline by not accepting it and by making bold words against the ones who made against him even at the event, but he did not do that, so he is already playing safely to not to get distracted by the main purpose, which you already stated that, he want to get popularity and that is something very rich, who have this can become rich in days although he is already so he will use it for someother reason.

I doubt his words won't match his actions, he must have some btc as well, but he is not telling, he is like Jp Morgan, they tend to go with their egos, but with time and pressure they easily accepts the reality like they can't compete without BTC so they have to adopt it.
