In my opinion, being a responsible gambler is very difficult, although many people think it is easy, but in reality it is not easy. In my opinion, there are many people who gamble and claim to be responsible, but in reality, when they lose money, they regret it a lot later and cannot control themselves. If a gambler cannot control himself when he loses his money, then he cannot be a responsible gambler at all. Rather, a responsible gambler is a person who can always control himself, even if he loses a lot of money, if he can still control himself, then he is responsible. And a responsible gambler always plays from experience and always believes in his skills and patience, he is a patient person who does not lose control of himself.

Being a responsible gambler involves more than just maintaining strict self control after losing, it also entails putting in place practical boundaries before things get out of control.  imo techniques like self exclusion tools, reality checks & time or money limits, not only save money but also drastically reduce harm.   sayin "if you lose but don't lose control, you're responsible" ignores the fact that mistakes are made before a significant loss occurs.  Responsible gambling involves more than just keeping your sanity after a difficult time,  it also involves being proactive, setting a budget & maintaining an entertaining mindset.

Luck is needed for unpredictable games. If you play slots, you can`t get profit. You some games where you can influence the result or where result depends on something. It is some card games and sport betting. May be something else, but it doesn`t matter.
Of course you can`t get 100% win rate, but if you good enough, you can get win rate enough to get profit. For a long distance luck would increase/decrease your win rate just for few percent. It still can break your day, but for the month it would be to small to worry about it.

I don't support that if you play slot you can't get profits, there are people who are good at slot games and get lucky when they play but it's not like that for everyone, for instance I'm more good at sports betting than slot games so I pay more attention to the area where I have more knowledge on and that's how it should be, if every gambler pay attention to the areas they're good at then they won't suffer much lose, you can't always play slot when you're not very good at it then hope to get lucky and win, I know one can't get 100% win rate but when you focus on an area where you're good at you may get more luckier. Yeah, every gambler's attitude in real life is mostly projected to their gambling life. there are people who ordinarily just have that addictive attitude towards everything, they overdo everything and before you know it, they are already getting addicted to it and start getting distracted by that activity. If such a person starts gambling, it will be very easier for them to get addicted. but those who mostly know how to manage every situation they find themselve and control their emotions when faced with other situations, nif they starts gambling, it'll be difficult for them to get addicted.

The act of responsibility when it comes to gambling starts by knowing the fact that in gambling anything is possible. Whereby in every bet you make, you stand a 1% chance to win and likewise 99% chance to lose your bet too.  And as such, ready and willing to accept whatever comes your way while having fun playing bet on your most favorite club and risking an amount you can always afford to lose. The first thing is self-discipline; then it's not difficult to become a responsible gambler.  If someone is self-disciplined and can set a budget list and have themself fulfil it. Then they can gamble and still gamble responsibly. I have been observing my neighbour that gambles; some days when he comes to the shop, after the arrangement or before it, he goes into a bet shop to play his game, and once he's done, he comes back and starts his day. Once he asks someone to help him check how it's going, and once he wins, he asks them to transfer it to his account, and that's the end for him. He never goes back to stake any more game. This is discipline to me, and it's gambling responsibly. To me, he won't get addicted to it, of course, because he's already elderly, and I guess it has been his way of gambling.

Everyone has their definition of responsible gambling and trust me, the moment we gamble only amount we can afford to lose and not chase after losses, then we should be regarded as responsible gamblers and yes I agree with you that a lot of people get addicted even without knowing that, they are already addicted and that’s where the problem is because it is only possible to fight or seek solution to a problem when we first identify the problem and if a player can not identify that they are already going behind their limits, then it might be difficult for such a player to correct or make amends to their habit.

I think that a lot of regular gamblers use gambling as some sort of exaust valve and use gambling as activity that lets them vent out emotions. Like examples that OP gave (glottony and smoking) a lot of people who smoke are aware of health risks but they have some psychological need that smoking satisfies. Until they find some other activity to satisfy their psychological need it will be very hard for them to stop smoking, and I beleive it id the same with gambling.

Yes it is very easy to be a responsible gambler, only if you want to, it all depends on you, it's all about mindset and reasoning of gambling, a lot of persons knows the rules of gambling but just chose to ignore it and that is why then end up being an irresponsible gambler because of their greed and selfish nature.

If you follow the rules of gambling, then you are on the right tract of a responsible gambler by gambling with what you can afford to lose, don't chase losses or wins, setting a limit for yourself in time and in bankroll, avoid spending all the day in gambling without going for your job that provides you the source of income you use in gambling.

The thing to keep in mind is that sometimes people get carried away in these things and they might end up in an addiction.
