I think religion is never going to be defeated by science, regardless how much time comes and goes.

~

To this day, there are phenomena which cannot be explained by science.

Recently, science has proven that the present effects are causes of some of the past causes. This means that present and past affect each other.

It would take more than a quantum super-computer to figure out how it works. People would not understand, and even AI would not. Even this form of science remains in the realm of religion... because the evidence can not be understood scientifically.

"Always" is a big word. Will science make it through the heat death of the universe or any other ending event on that scale? I suppose when you put it that way with your concept of "always", religion will "defeat" science, because an intelligent divine being will either create another world for them whether that be heaven, a new universe, or anything else, or human life would end entirely, putting end end to science. I think your concepts put atheists in a bind because they'd then have to postulate the existence of multiple universes by random chance, which could be interpreted as a religion rather than a science, as no empirical observations of that would be possible without considering a "supernatural" element of the universe.

But this isn't really true either, as it suggests that God is not a being more of religion than science, which would be quite possibly wrong, and for all we know is more of a being of science than religion, in which case religion could never win against science and wasn't winning at any point.

science is unproven?? science is proven!!
religion is unproven!!

religions are just based from just written hearsay, wrote by untrusted 'witness' by people and third party interpreters, that wrote statements many years after they say they witnessed something.

science actually has evidence of existence. you can see it now with your own eyes
science created the very device badecker uses now to read things on this forum. but nothing wrote in a bible can be proven today. we just have to take the word on it 'on faith', 'on belief' without investigation or evidence gathering

religion is ultimately just the twisted campfire stories told to children to attempt to explain science in analogies of characters/actors and fantasy imagery of stories/fables.. made predominantly so scholars of the time can set their own rule/law

religion was the old name of "government". setting its own rules and lists of crimes, and manners/morals to which people should act civilly within

Thumbs up from me!

The best argument I have heard on Science v Religion goes to Ricky Gervais.

Quote
if we destroyed every piece of fiction and holy book along with all science textbooks,
in 1000 years the fiction and religion would come back as something different but the science
books would all come back the same

because science is proven
religion is not

Science doesn't prove everything, neither gives accurate explanations about many things. From times to times you always hear science was mistaken about a previous discovery, so new theories take place.

It's dumb to embrace science and reject religion, and vice versa. Both are sources of knowledge, while science can complement religion, by explaining or presenting hypothesis regards many religious historical events.

After all, God is the master of universe, including science. He created everything through scientifical rules (math, physics, chemestry, biology...) along a long lasting process which is still going on in real time. Religion, on the other hand, is an human invention in an attempt to explain science in a simplistic and archaic way to the ancient civilizations (and in other cases, also to manipulate society).

Science doesn't prove everything,

it doesnt claim to prove everything, science is explained as we humans scientists come
to understand certain things. Imagine how the world would look if "every scientific fact was discovered and proven"
I would most certainly be typing this from Mars.

neither gives accurate explanations about many things. From times to times you always hear science was mistaken about a previous discovery, so new theories take place.

as above science is carried out by humans with human made tools, we are not perfect but we do
move forward bit by bit, as our knowledge grows and our tools become more advanced we can
expand and correct previous discovered theories and discoveries. We can also prove how we were
wrong in the first place and how we corrected it.

After all, God is the master of universe,

yes, yes -  but god's existence cannot be proven, everything we have about every god has been
created by us! like the lord of the rings

Inspired by God?

God made this universe and most importantly people to enhance His glory... which glory he would and did share with people. And Jesus (God) salvation is enhancing God's glory even further, because in the face of people, thru sin, trying to detract from God's glory, He still is saving those who accept His salvation - Jesus.

True science is something built by God. It exists in the physics of this universe, which God put together in the beginning. Mankind have barely scratched enough of the surface of science to have more than a vague understanding of it. Much of what scientists call science, is simply ignorant guesswork.

The religion that is and is of God is the true science, and most of science doesn't even acknowledge that God exists.

here is a 'what if' about the scriptures of hearsay account of supposed witnesses of events

moses smelled a wild smell of vegetation and got curious, thinking it was a sign of possible green pastures to feed his animals.. he went towards smell, in the direction of the mountains, whereby he seen what he thought was a rigid stick and used it as a walking aid
and then seen a smoking bush that never burned off..
.. strong cannabis made him hallucinate, but realised he was holding a snake that was soo baked on weed it went into a deep sleep and went rigid
.. moses hallucinating on weed, started having conversations with himself

prove me wrong via blood, dna, video, anything that one story or the other is closer to a truth..
because the world knows that cannabis can cause the version of my story to be alot more plausible than old scriptures version

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both researched opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Who can tell if the Silicon Valley supposed change towards God was always there, and if it is only increasing lately? But the point is, intelligent people recognize that there is a God over all. But it is the honest ones who admit it.

God is simply science in supremely great depth. To deny God is to deny science. Religion simply goes beyond the mankind understanding of God, because, just like science, God can't be understood in His entirety.

Why The Tech Gods Of Silicon Valley Are Pivoting to Christianity

https://www.technocracy.news/why-the-tech-gods-of-silicon-valley-are-pivoting-to-christianity/
Peter Thiel is parroting about Armageddon and the Antichrist, both Biblical topics, without any clear understanding of what he is talking about. Many TechBros are turning to mystical forms of Catholicism. Why the pivot to Christianity all of a sudden, and why not Buddhism or Hinduism? Perhaps the angle is the apocryphal nature of the impact of tech on the world.

Here is the relative spread of religion in Silicon Valley:
Christianity    20-25%    Modest to significant
Buddhism    5-10%    Major (via mindfulness, meditation)
Hinduism    2-5%    Significant (yoga, some festivals)
None/Other    48-50%    High secularization, new age mix

? Patrick Wood, Editor.

Existential questions arising from the race to develop "God-like" artificial intelligence are driving a revival of interest in Christianity in Silicon Valley.

Churches in San Francisco are reporting swelling congregations and collectives have started in the past year to connect tech workers committed to or curious about Christian faith.

Denise Lee Yohn, co-founder of the Bay Area Center for Faith, Work & Tech, which was founded about a year ago and has about 2,000 people on its mailing list, said the increased interest in Christianity had been prompted "in large part" by the questions raised by the development and use of AI.

"I think that people are asking themselves and each other: What does it mean to be human, if we can be gods? Should we be gods?" she said.

Curiosity has also been piqued by some influential entrepreneurs choosing to discuss their faith openly. Peter Thiel, the co-founder of PayPal and Palantir, will draw on his Christianity when he gives a sold-out series of lectures starting next month on the biblical Antichrist.

The talks have been organised by a collective known as Acts 17 Collective — "Acts" standing for "Acknowledging Christ in Technology and Society". The nonprofit group was founded last year by Michelle Stephens, a healthcare start-up executive and the wife of Trae Stephens, a partner at Thiel's Founders Fund who is also co-founder of Anduril Industries, which makes and sells autonomous weapons systems for military use.
