There was a week when I placed over 40 ETH trades. Small wins, big losses, endless stress. My account balance didn’t move much, but my energy was gone.

That taught me that more trades don’t equal better results. Sometimes waiting for one clean setup is worth more than 20 rushed entries. Are you trading with purpose or just trading to feel busy?
Personally, I only trade to fill my spare time with the goal of earning extra money. However, because I also have a fairly busy work schedule, I only trade in my free time or on holidays. As a result, my weekly trade count is limited to just a few positions. And I only enter when I find a good opportunity. I also believe that one profitable trade is more than making numerous trades that only result in repeated losses and wins.

But perhaps if I had more free time, I could also trade more frequently.

Trading too much often burns out your focus and energy without really improving your results quantity doesn’t mean quality in trading every move should have a clear purpose and a reason behind it when you trade just to stay busy you lose your edge and start forcing setups that aren’t really there. About waiting for one clean setup is the real game changer that’s where patience and discipline separate traders who grow from those who stay stuck it’s better to take one high probability trade with confidence than to scatter your attention across forty uncertain ones the market will always be there opportunities never stop coming so there’s no need to rush.

Trading with purpose also helps you stay emotionally stable when you know why you’re entering a trade and what your plan is you won’t panic as easily if things don’t go your way it’s when you trade impulsively that losses feel heavier because they weren’t part of any real plan. Trading only during free time and picking good setups is actually one of the healthiest ways to do it it keeps the balance between trading and life and reduces emotional pressure after all the goal is consistency not constant action patience pays more than overtrading ever will.

^ I wish people knew the "quantity isn't quality" a lot more often. I know that long term holding is not what traders wants to hear, but that doesn't mean that we are going to be able to see if we could just focus on that as a bad thing. So take that as something that benefits you and you could probably make a better return on your investment if you could use that long term holding as an example.

What I mean is that, if you want to be a trader, then instead of bunch of tiny small trades that are risky, take a look at one long trade, maybe you will trade it for a whole week, you buy and wait for a few days and such. So, it's clear that if we can't really make some better judgement on this, then just focus on doing a lot better return.

When we're ready to trade, we might prefer a single, thoroughly analyzed trade over multiple trades. However, some people think the more trades they make, the greater the potential profit. At first glance, this seems good, but if we think about it more deeply, I think it actually exposes us to greater risk.

I understand wanting quick profits, but as you said, we can do it over a few days. It's better to do that and earn small profits, but be consistent with those profits.

Honestly making more trades equals potential for more losses as well. So, there is no reason why we should trust it to do more trades, it is not going to happen. We should avoid doing things like these, so that we can do a better job later on. I understand it is not going to be great for today, but it will not be that great and we should not be expecting it to get a great result neither.

We can however get a great result one way or another by holding. So all these small trades, they are just risk takers, and there is no need to take those risks, it makes no sense. Find few good trades per month and that would be enough, just make bulk of your income from those and no need for hundreds of trades with an inch of profit.

This also impacts our psychology, because sometimes even just one entry makes it difficult to sleep soundly because we're constantly thinking about the outcome of the trade. This is especially true if we're making multiple trades.

I know several people who are new to trading who tell me how they struggle to relax and even need medication to sleep. This stems from a lack of preparation, while forcing themselves to keep going, even though it's something they could have avoided.

Repeated trading usually drains your energy ultimately impacting your emotions when making decisions often resulting in losses. While consistent trading can improve our skills because we learn from mistakes and can evaluate them excessive trading is also detrimental.

That's why we need time management in trading, as it's also a key factor in trading success. Trading too much isn't good, and trading too little isn't good for your trading development. It's best to implement good time management and commit to your strategy. Trading is a risky activity so it's crucial to control your emotions and manage your time effectively.

What causes overtrading for some traders is overconfidence. And overconfidence can sometimes lead to some complications and it might end up causing financial problems. Being courageous and overconfidence can enhance poor decision making, and it makes an individual to feel full of themselves and it will give them the audacity and encourage them to ignore alternative Perspectives thinking that their decisions is always right by underestimating the hardness of a task and the will failed to prepare for it. Some of the overconfidence individuals lack humility so they find it very hard and difficult to admit their mistakes talkless of learning from their failures. But at least it is a great thing that you (the OP) realise your mistake and I believe you've got to learn a greater lesson from it.

To be fair the worst ones are the newbies who make a lot of money at the very start of their journey. Dude starts investing into crypto for the first time ever, usually to some shitcoin, it pumps because of a trend, they make 10x return and get out at the right time. This doesn't happen often, maybe 1-5% of newbies ever face this, but those ones will always lose on the long term a lot more.

I rather have a newbie lose at the start, so that they can clear and do a better job, most of them do not and they lose a lot. The ones who earn a lot at the start, think they can do that repeatedly and they end up making mistakes after mistakes chasing the same result, ending up with a lot more lost than what they earned. I have met plenty of people like that who are regretting it now.

Good point

You will learn as you become more professional in trading.

It is very important not to use high leverage which can be another mistake. You might have a good entry but high leverage can make your position liquidated before the market massively go to your direction.
Right, experience will teach you more lessons in trading, until you slowly apply them as your weapons in your future trades. There’s no wrong if you prefer to keep on trading, but what is wrong is when you chose a wrong timing for trading. Don’t fall being greedy and resort into overtrading, as it will also lead to uncontrollable losses that eventually makes you regretting in the long run.

Using leverage may be profitable for few professional traders, but it isn’t for every newbies out there. You are just hungry for instant profits, that’s why you tend to overtrade instead of trading with caution.

You are right, small wins can lead to big financial losses and endless stress. When the number of trades increases but the profit does not, mental and physical fatigue increases. It is not that trading more will bring more profit and trading is not a profession, it is based on skill. When someone trades just to be busy, he makes emotional decisions. A good trader thinks about when to trade but an ideal trader understands when to stop trading and when it would be better for him to do nothing. And achieving such a step is the most difficult thing. Conscious and planned trading is what makes a professional trader.

More than 40 trades a week can lead to small wins, but there is also the risk of losses. However, it can have a negative impact not only financially but also mentally and physically.
However, trading in excess does not always give good results.
Those who trade just to stay busy will end up losing money.
That's why we shouldn't be too passionate or greedy in seeking profits in trading, greed is often the main enemy of traders, this can be a trigger for overtrading. where when we make an entry we need concentration to be more focused in making decisions, repeated entries without in-depth analysis just because we want to chase quick profits, this is a mistake that we should not make. If we haven't found the right moment, it's best not to act rashly it's better to take a break. Remember, the market is always there for us the next day. Long term consistency is more important than instant profits.

Using high leverage is very risky, as mentioned, because we may be liquidated before the market moves in our predicted direction. Adjust your capital accordingly and ensure you also analyze the market's potential reversal points.

It may be true that using high leverage will allow us to quickly and significantly profit from each move. However, don't forget the inherent risks in trading. Furthermore, there's always the possibility of making mistakes in your predictions.

Well, some thought it was easy to make a profit but did not know that it was stressful and risky. That is why many traders can't bear the stress and pressure, which makes them quit.  So if we want to trade, make sure that we are mentally capable of accepting it and willing to adapt to the volatile nature of the market. Aside from that, we don't take trading seriously but rather take it lightly and enjoy the journey. Because the moment we put pressure on our minds, it leads to making wrong decisions.

Trading is something that really teaches you patience and discipline over time. when you keep doing it, you will realize that the biggest enemy is not the market but your own emotions. greed and impatience make people use high leverage thinking it will give them quick profit but it usually ends the opposite way. High leverage can destroy a good position because even a small price move against you will wipe your capital. this is why most experienced traders prefer low or moderate leverage, or sometimes even trade without leverage at all. it allows them to survive longer in the market and gives time for their prediction to play out.

Instead of rushing for instant profit, it is better to focus on improving analysis skills and money management. profits will come naturally when you are consistent and calm. overtrading only creates exhaustion and poor judgment that leads to bigger losses. Trading is not a race. it is a long process where small steady gains will always beat risky quick profits. understanding this difference will save many traders from losing all their funds before they even have the chance to learn how the market really works.

Wish more people knew this, because trading is "simple" when you know how to do it and just keep doing the same thing over and over again. But that right buying time may not come even all day, we are in a very limited market and you may not find what you are looking for and you have to learn to walk away from it when given the chance, some people rush into it saying "good enough" and those lose money.

Some get bored, some want more risks, basically there are a lot of people and a lot of reasons that people deviate from what they should be doing and that is why they lose money. If you didn't deviate, and if you just focus on what you should be doing then you would do something very boring, mind numbingly boring, but you will make a lot of profit from it.

Well, some thought it was easy to make a profit but did not know that it was stressful and risky. That is why many traders can't bear the stress and pressure, which makes them quit.  So if we want to trade, make sure that we are mentally capable of accepting it and willing to adapt to the volatile nature of the market. Aside from that, we don't take trading seriously but rather take it lightly and enjoy the journey. Because the moment we put pressure on our minds, it leads to making wrong decisions.
Sometimes, mere doing nothing can be a strategy on its own. That unnecessary pressure when there are lots of activities going on here and there can be mentally exhausting. Along with that fear of losing that drives away real confidence.

Traders shouldn't just trade, they should trade with purpose. They should have a strategy that explains well why they are entering a position and when to exit. Once greed begins to lead the way, the possibility of failure becomes high.

Trading can really be exhausting, especially for those that are scalping and day trading. The ugly part of it is that a trader can lose his time, energy and money at once.

Traders shouldn't just trade, they should trade with purpose. They should have a strategy that explains well why they are entering a position and when to exit. Once greed begins to lead the way, the possibility of failure becomes high.
This is the reason trading is not good at all. Some traders are good, they will trade and make money from it, but this will let them think that they have really known how to trade without losing but that would be where the problem is. They will use higher leverage and become greedy, thinking they have known everything about trading, but they will later lose massively.

Patience and discipline are excellent principles that must be applied in our trading activities. You're right, sometimes our enemy isn't external forces (in this case, the market), but rather ourselves, who can sometimes lose control of our emotions, leading to greed or fear.

The market isn't going anywhere, so we shouldn't be afraid of being left behind. In fact, if we feel that way, we'll be more likely to rush into every decision. We also need to stay calm, and it's best to avoid trading when we're emotionally unstable, as it can have a negative impact.

More entries don't necessarily guarantee maximum success, so it's better to wait for the right momentum to make a much more accurate entry. Trading isn't about who's faster, but rather how one can identify momentum. The mistake most traders make is being impatient and always rushing to enter the market. Too many entries can have a significant impact because it will increase the chance of getting a loss and this can have a big effect on our sleep time, and even cause many problems that we are not aware of.
