Why is it not possible to publish a blank post?

Given the brilliant idea that has been seen lately in this section, today I felt inspired to create a blank thread, but to my surprise, I was not allowed to do so.

I got the following message;

No subject was filled in.
The message body was left empty.

So, why publishing a blank post is not possible? My creativity and freedom of expression feel discriminated against. If I have freedom of speech, I should also have the freedom to say nothing and publish it. I think this is a bug in Bitcontalk that should be fixed.

Hahaha damn it never gets better Who's secretly passing coke to forum members? Yesterday was basically about sending zero merits and today we have something about an empty post who knows what's coming up next?
Well anyways jokes aside I don't think it's really a necessary feature, I bet it's an easy thing for Theymos to fix but I don't think he will fix it because trust me it's gonna be a new way for newbies to spam the forum. Besides, if the thread is empty then what is there to discuss about?

So you’re asking for the need  to create an empty post,
which will enable spammers to spam and flood a board with empty posts ,
spam DB columns with empty strings
creating more work for mods who have to be  constantly deleting them..
Have you ever seen a form that allows empty submissions except for  optional fields?

It would have been made possible but no! There's no freedom of saying nothing here  ,  it's either you are saying something that makes sense for others to learn from it or you are saying what doesn't make sense for moderator to burst it.

But I have an idea, to publish a sort of blank post, fill in just punctuation mark on the subject and message body.

Whatever happens, we just have the right to say whatever want even though it might not really make any sense.

Seems I'm the only one who can still create a bank post, or a reply. I still need to do a lot of learning. This forum is quiet crazy how things go!

I do not this kind of post is also necessary because we all know that it is not good to post nothing. People can argue that you can send a post zero merit, which can mean that the post is useful but the person that sent it do not have any smerit to send because the person is not having any smerit. It can even later be used to later send 1 or merits by seeing the person's post easily with no need of bookmar it somewhere else.

This really feels like coming from a honest mind and I must say that I like how polite you addressed your grieve.
But let me get your attention and I'll urge you to be thoughtful about. Do you know that if you didn't say anything it means you didn't say anything? That's just applicable to when you intend to make empty post/thread in the forum and between you and forum SMF, you're posting NOTHING therefore, your freedom of speech wasn't deprived rather you're just saying anything. If you think the forum SMF gets your freedom of speech deprived of making success post, then try to dey something because making a blanket thread as you said is equal to saying nothing and to keep the forum clean from unnecessary posts, such case isn't tolerated as part of users rights in the forum. Perhaps we can say say our rights of expressions is limited as well that's why approach of how we expresses ourselves in the forum is something very important so that we don't make the forum s chaos place..

Not saying anything isn't always enough to make a point. Something it's needed to make the world know you have nothing to say, and the best way to do that is by saying nothing. By saying nothing, we all know OP has nothing to say, and OP knows we know. By the time we know OP knows we know, everyone knows, if you know what I mean!
To prove the importance of saying nothing: I've just reached the highest Merit-to-data ratio in the forum's history: 2 3 Merits divided by nothing means infinite Merits per character. A longer message could not have made such a strong point!

There is a saying, you may have heard it: less is more

All of us (including you) should be allowed to express our feelings. Sending out a blank post could have an artistic and intellectual interpretation that words otherwise might not be able to express. Actually blank posts can be made but will they be deleted after being reported?

It is not something that I would do but each to their own

 why would you want to even create an empty or maybe a blank thread for any reason. I see no purpose of it like seriously what will be the discussion and what are people or members of the forum going learn from it most especially newbies? To spam?

Well it was good that you actually noticed something like that in the Bitcointalk space. Let me just say it most likely isn't a bug. that's just how the forum works it has limits as to what you as a member can do .

Without a body message, yes it's possible but one can't create without filling the subject space. I just tried it and it didn't work.
