Bisq Easy  has been elevated to v 0.9.0. This release focuses mainly on improving Tor connectivity, along with further polish to UX and overall app performance.

If you are going to install it on your mobile phone, please take into account that there are two apps to trade on Bisq2, namely Bisq Easy and Bisq Connect.

If your phone is one of the latest models, you might want to consider using Bisq Easy; otherwise, Bisq Connect could be the better option.

The latest Bisq Connect v0.7.0  release has just seen the light of day with the stuff that introduces the opt-in analytics feature alongside a redesigned startup screen with clearer Tor connection progress and better handling of slow or failed connections, plus multiple stability fixes including iOS crashes and a frozen UI after app restart.

Bisq Easy app got  an update to v 0.10.0 which made possible to see  node's connection info and peers on the new screen. It also fixes the particalar bug where the app would sometimes get stuck starting up, and it stops your trading data from being backed up automatically by Android. They also added a new payment method for Ethiopia (Telebirr), plus general bug fixes and speed improvements.

Bisq Connect mobile app was elevated to 0.8.0. Overall, this is just  smoother and more polished release which offers now load way faster, there's a new screen showing your node's connection health, pairing with your trusted node got more secure.

Android backups are now locked down so your pairing info stays on your phone.

It also added the new payment method ^{namely, Ethiopian Birr}.

Bisq team just pushed  the update ^v0.11.0 to Bisq Easy  app.

A few things changed under the hood: you can now tap a trader's avatar to check their profile/reputation and report or ignore them if something's off, the app starts up quicker and takes less space thanks to some background optimizations, and offer syncing got fixed so people stop getting stuck on a loading screen. One heads-up for the technical folks: they turned off code obfuscation this time, so mapping files won't be uploaded anymore.

The problem I see is that you are still using bank transfers. So you buy or sell some stuf on Bisq, and it will show up as a transaction, and they will eventually ask what are all these transactions for, so you may end up being forced to disclose your BTC anyway. Im not sure if Bisq allows p2p transactions IRL for cash, that would be the way to do it if you want non-KYC, but that also encompasses a lot of risks involved. You may be meeting up with a bad person or depending on the state someone that hates you for using Bitcoin and then you have a problem. It's great that this exists but understand the risks because some people think this is completely safe.

Urgent security update 0.8.2. for Bisq Connect.

It's important for users because it fixes  bug where the app didn't properly handle the security ban on old node versions, so anyone trading needs to upgrade to keep working normally. It also brings clearer messages when your node needs an update or trading is paused, better error messages when taking an offer fails, quicker Android notifications after granting permission.

Following Bisq Connect relelease for Bisq Easy got new update, namely 0.12.0.

After updating  you can  DM other traders directly and build relevant contacts list, tagging people and keeping private trust notes only you see. There's also the new Community Hub tab, and tapping the trader's icon in your trade history opens their profile straight away.

Under the hood it's running on newer Bisq 2.1.12 core, and they fixed a bunch of annoying bugs like the app freezing on load for some phones, crashes on older Android 7.0/7.1 devices, and background notifications not kicking in right after you grant permission.

Release 0.13.0 ^{for Bisq Easy} which appeared today  deserves the dedicated post because it lets people trade Bitcoin peer to peer over Tor from their phone.

Besides, it adds the community chat hub where users can talk to other Bisq users and get support, makes trades more reliable by fixing sync problems and confusing stuck states, and improves checks so people cannot enter payment addresses that would get rejected. It also adds more options for explaining why thr trade was canceled.

Following Bisq Easy release for Bisq Connect  got new update, namely 0.9.0.

The new version adds community chat hub, private messaging between traders, the personal contacts list with notes and trust ratings, and the quick way to trade again with someone you already know. Notifications and error messages are more reliable now, and Android downloads are smaller since the app is split by device type.

It is worth updating.

Fresh Bisq Easy, namely 0.14.0 which is easier for beginners due to clearer help for entering your Bitcoin address and a proper "Trade failed" message that explains why an offer couldn't be taken.
