A popular Spanish company has come out to claim the ownership of the Bitcoin logo, and this has triggered global merchandise removals from Amazon and Etsy. Sellers woke up to takedown notices accusing them of infringing on the firm’s “trademark.”

The bitcoin logo was initially created by Satoshi but it was changed not to resemble gold coin the same year but which was acceptable and what is used to represent bitcoin today.

This case has already been nullified last year by the commercial court No. 2 of Bilbao. The company had a legal challenge/clash with Bit2Me whch lead to the nullity of the claim by the company.

Eduardo Pérez registered a trademark in 2019 that reproduced the Bitcoin logo, and later sued Bit2Me with the claim that Bit2Me committed infringement, meanwhile they didn't. The first and second Bitcoin logo was designed by Satishi and Bitboy who did the third vision of the logo and it was given for free to community, no body was restricted from using it. So, the court nullified the case because Bitcoin logo is not to be taken by anyone as a personal invention like Eduardo Pérez did.

Who else I think I remember he was taking a patent every week back in those days. Real geniuses make inventions and then make it available to the world for free. Only evil or crazy people use their IQ to make sure only rich people can access their inventions.

Maybe now he will patent everything about organic farmic in hydroponics and one day make it all about 'the real Bitcoin'.

People or companies will always claim to be the creator of this or that. Bitcoin is doing really well now so it is only to be expected that certain things will be told to be theirs even if it is not true. There are people who even claim to be Satoshi but without proof no one believes them. Do not easily be fooled by greedy people who claim to have done the works of another.

Assume BTC is dead or not working, I don't think this young man will come out to claim that he is the owner of BTC logo, because he will be ashame of himself. even though he was the one that design or created the logo, is it free he created it or design it before the founder of BTC began to use it globally, may be he was settled with big amount of money some years ago before he discovered that BTC have become popular.

For people to believe what this man is claiming, it will be better if he can come up with more evidence, because it will be easy for people to understand the truth of this claim, since there are documents that will backup with the claim.

Such claim seems more like an opportunistic move than a pure one. The logo of Bitcoin for long has been concluded a public symbol that represents a decentralized network, instead of something a single firm may own. Even when the trademark filling is genuine, enforcing it internationally may be almost impossible. The more concerning matter is how centralized platforms such as Amazon and Etsy can easily react to claims as such, revealing how fragil digital ownership yet is despite the idea of decentralization.

Someone that created Bitcoin would also create the Logo to show people how the innovation would looked like and not someone who don't even know how the coin was created claiming to be the owner of the Logo, then indirectly he is saying that he is the owner of bitcoin. From the link Hatchy shared, it is clear that it was Satoshi Nakamoto that created the bitcoin Logo and he also asked anyone who has the skill to add more effect to it. Or is it the the Spanish guy was the one who later beautified the Logo?
Such claim has no stand on the ground of this community. Let the guy come here and make his claim.
