Roach had the victory on the fight against the scammer Tank, yes you can argue it was a draw, but it was a victory on Roach. This will give him much confident against Pitbull, however, he will be shocked on the type of pressure Pitbull will give him.

Speaking of confidence, I’ll be betting on Lamont Roach to win by decision. As you mentioned, he’s riding high right now after what happened in the Tank Davis fight. If Roach can weather the early storm and prevent Cruz from building momentum, there’s a strong chance he’ll secure the victory on points. A knockout seems unlikely, though, since Cruz is notoriously tough to crack.

I think the bet is going to hit. Roach doesn’t need to force a KO because he knows how dangerous Cruz is. That guy is like a bulldog, he never stops with those aggressive attacks. The easiest way to deal with that is just score points and avoid those power shots. I’m with you on that one, man. Good luck.

Roach comes up short again with another draw. Roach was successful at neutralizing Cruz’s aggression, but he was too passive in those final rounds and that may have cost him the win. It wasn’t a great fight in terms of excitement so I don’t know if we will see a rematch. Both fighters have proven they can be competitive against the best, but they’re simply not elite and shouldn’t be headlining PPV events. I’m expecting them to get some fights to pad their record until PBC allows them to face Shakur or Haney, who they have no chance against, and will get picked apart easily.

The problem is that he didn't let his hands in this fight and settled on being the counter puncher. While Cruz is the more aggressive but he didn't land much of a significant blow except in the 3rd round.

You can hear boos from the fans though as there are not that much engagement between the two.

One judge scored the bout 115-111 for Cruz, while the other two each scored it a 113-113 draw, after Roach outlanded Cruz 191-152 across 12 hard fought rounds.

The problem is that he didn't let his hands in this fight and settled on being the counter puncher. While Cruz is the more aggressive but he didn't land much of a significant blow except in the 3rd round.

You can hear boos from the fans though as there are not that much engagement between the two.

It’s understandable since fans were looking for action. Lamont probably respected Cruz’s power and didn’t want to take too many chances because he could get KO’d.
Cruz was the aggressor and Lamont is more of a technical fighter, so what happened isn’t really surprising.

Damn, you reminded me of his fight against Tank Davis. He should’ve won that one, and maybe this one too?

If there’s an award for fighters with the most draws in a year, I think Roach would be a top candidate. 

He’s good, but he’s not that exciting to watch on this fight. He doesn’t really go toe-to-toe with aggressive fighters, and he can’t hurt them enough to swing the momentum. So the judges see his effort as lacking, and that’s why these results keep happening.

That disparity though.. it’s clear Pitbull dominated the early rounds, but the later rounds belonged to Lamont Roach. So I think giving it a majority draw is fair.

It’s kind of like the Manny Pacquiao vs Barrios fight. We all thought Manny would take it, but it ended up a draw because Barrios adjusted in the later rounds and his counterpunching was really effective.

I guess this deserves a rematch ( do they talk about this after the fight?)

My mistake, two judge score it 113-113.

In any case, it really shows that there could be one judge that might be watching another fight as his score is not the same as the other two. And as what we say, style makes fight and this want happened here.

One is technical and wants to counter and pile up points, while the other is the aggressor and looking for a knockout. And so with this kind of style, fights is boring, fans boos because they want the fight to engaging.
