When the Banks Advertises Bitcoin as a Good investment

Right, it's business after all, and they have this mentality of "if you can't beat it, join them". So that's why what we are seeing in today's cycle. But years ago, they are all against Bitcoin because it's a threat and they used a lot of FUD and attacks, like it's a scam, poison rat etc etc.

But then they realized that it's growing and whatever negative they say, it just fuel's people to invest on them. So now that institutional money are flowing into the market, they don't have a choice but to endorse it to their clients and think about the profits that they are going to make.

Just because one bank has decided to offer Bitcoin ETFs to it's customers that doesn't necessarily mean that the entire banking system would embrace Bitcoin/crypto. Maybe they will or maybe they won't. Banks promoting Bitcoin ETFs is a double edged sword. From one side, this is good, because it raises awareness about Bitcoin's potential growth, on the other hand, the banks are simply yet another middle man(just like you wrote in your forum thread), they will charge a fee for their services and they will manage their client's funds from behalf of the client.
Most people would still prefer a middle man, because they lack knowledge and experience.

At first banks didn’t want to associate with Bitcoin or one way or the other they did while using the customers savings to do the technical investment, but never recommending the customers to invest themselves because they are unsure of the risk to reward ratio due to the volatile nature of Bitcoin .

I think the banking system are coming to realization about the backup potential of Bitcoin and they’ll try to utilize the opportunity by creating a Bitcoin investment platform directly managed by them for their client and will urge them to invest in Bitcoin.
This way they’ll be able to benefit from the customer investment by charging a commission or fee whenever a client does a transaction or charging a custody fee to secure and manage the clients bitcoin, either way, there will be a charge or fee from your investment and a profit from your investment on your their own end.
To those of us on here that haven’t started accumulating Bitcoin due doubts or whatever the case maybe, why not show some courage and do the work yourselves now instead of waiting for the bank to make things easier for you at a cost. I’ve come across a thread in this forum that was highlighting exchanges and wallet you can use to accumulate Bitcoin with the minimum of a dollar, some of which are Luna wallet, Kraken Exchange and Uphold Exchange.

That's a good push towards great adoption by banking sectors for accepting Bitcoin and ETH to be accepted on their bank.

With those things happened for sure that later on they might say that Bitcoin is good asset to invest. So while this is not happening yet better accumulate Bitcoin and HODL.

So what do you think they should tell their customers about bitcoin? Should they lie that bitcoin is very stable and risk free? Is investing in bitcoin completely safe and can get rich quickly?

Come on, they are just telling the truth because obviously, bitcoin is very volatile and investing in it is risky.

You need to know that banks are responsible for providing financial advisory services. This means they need to ensure that their clients fully understand the pros and cons of the asset they intend to invest in. Banks just do their job and they also tell the truth.

If they don't believe in bitcoin, why are they offering bitcoin ETFs? If customers don't invest in bitcoin through their bitcoin ETFs, what benefits do they get?

You may be right but also need to note, many people are interested in bitcoin. But do they really want to use blockchain and utilize its use cases or do they just want to profit from it? If they are really serious about learning about bitcoin and its purpose, they will do the research themselve because it is not difficult to find comprehensive information about bitcoin on the internet.

Just like why many people prefer to invest in Bitcoin through ETFs rather than owning Bitcoin directly. Because they don't really care about bitcoin, what they care about is the profit it can bring.

If there is no demand, there is no supply, banks are only providing services based on the needs of current bitcoin investors. We should not blame them entirely.

There's no need to wait for a bank to make your investment happen, even though they provide easy steps anyone can take. There are now many exchanges that can be used to buy Bitcoin with our own financial means and much more independence without the involvement of third parties. Banks don't inherently make the process easier, and even when it comes to convenience, one can take a more independent approach through existing exchanges to buy Bitcoin. So what's the point of banks if someone just wants to start investing in Bitcoin, since there are other ways anyone can take advantage of?

This isn't just about "When the banker tells you to buy it, the price will be a million dollars per Bitcoin." Rather, there are many ways individuals can easily start investing. Banks are starting to show interest in Bitcoin as an alternative investment, and they're starting to advertise it to their clients. While this may be a good move, you can also take a more independent approach without their involvement.

Only when the government of a country allows the use of Bitcoin will bankers be able to talk to anyone about investing. Of course, banks should be honest about this so that those interested in investing understand that Bitcoin is a high-risk asset. You're right, the core reason banks are currently interested in Bitcoin is because they want to generate profits, but honestly I don't particularly like Bitcoin ETF. That doesn't mean I'm against them, because I admit a Bitcoin ETF would encourage wider adoption, but I'd rather be my own bank, managing real Bitcoin in my own hands. Being your own bank truly captures the spirit of Bitcoin creation. The whole idea behind Bitcoin was actually for financial freedom and control, not relying on institutions that can restrict or manipulate your funds. The ETF platforms are doing it because of what they stand to gain, that's why they filed for ETF in the first place. Other than the security work they are going to use to protect client Bitcoin, I don't think they have much work to do. Just help customers buy Bitcoin and hold it while you have them assurance they are under your care, it's not like they are going to be buying and selling, more like just a custodial service and that's all, no stress of trading.

If banks are given the same opportunity, they will not want to involved people to guy and sell, they will issue ETF service and by the time people are ready to buy, they charge them with huge amounts and of money like they with their regular banking activities. When the customer want to sell, they still charge them for selling their Bitcoin for cash, if they want to withdraw the money they still charge them again, this is the best banks do best, taking from customers but wouldn't give back to customers.

From how OP has explained everything, I think Banks are all about calculated risk,and from the look of things clearly buying actual Bitcoin as a cooperation is high risk and with the coming of Bitcoin ETFs this risk was transferred elsewhere making it a safe bet for investors and all interested parties like the Banks themselves...

Just an after thought, who supplies these ETFs with the Bitcoins.. are they buying from exchanges or they have a whole different source?

I know this is really going to happen most especially that bitcoin has exceeded the expectation of the people. Now the government and these centralized banks are also into it. Yes they start to advertise it and even encourage the people to deposit and make transactions with the bank. However, the only disadvantage is that while you are slowly working to increase the amount of your bitcoin, the bank will slowly take full control on it once you start trusting them, so for me this is not a good idea and in the end, you will eventually lost access to your bitcoin, and this isn't the one we imagined.

Never let these banks gain an access over our bitcoin. Never fall on their trap, otherwise you will end up a loser while they are taking the best advantage of your bitcoin.

Banks already advertise Bitcoin as investment alternative for their customers, however, they don't let investors have control over the acquired Bitcoins. They can't even cashout the BTC from the bank if they wished. So, it's not a great deal for customers, but definitely a good deal for banks. For those who want to invest in Bitcoin, I don't suggest doing so through a bank. Rather, do it by yourself purchasing Bitcoin directly from someone else, and in the worst case buy it from an exchange, so you can transact your coins to a safe wallet you own the keys on the sequence.

If you want full dominance from your bitcoin, never trust banks. Whatever that is controlled by the government, it will never do good to a decentralized coin like bitcoin. Banks knew all these secrets while they kept on tarnishing  the image of Bitcoin because it's taking away their customers and leaving them less profit everyday, I could say Bitcoin lovers are leaving bank day by day to the decentralized world of digital currency and transactions.

It's already clear that banks had been using customers to their advantage especially in the case of investment, they have the lowest ROI so far. Those that are still sleeping are the major victims to bank manipulation.

I hope that he's right, the banks can no longer ignore how valuable Bitcoin by that time then. Well, some of the banks that have noticed Bitcoins potential was already in and they are not a lot of it. We will see on how many of the banking companies are going to adopt Bitcoin when it's too late for them but it's convenient already for us because the price by that time is going to be so much for everyone already. And even if that's going to be pricey by that time, they can still afford that because they've got a lot of money in their reserve and vaults.

Aside from Bitcoin being a profitable investment product, banks have realized the threat it poses to their existence. They have no ways but to join the crypto club with all possible means, just like did governments who realized as well the mashrooming spread of bitcoin culture and how this may directly damage its power.
