Usually money and power seems to be the same thing for me, because when you give someone money or when they become successful you would know how arrogant they could be. Power is mostly temporary. Mostly as all the powerful positions and leadership are temporary. There's a retirement age or fixed terms till you remain on bureaucratic or political position. You might feel there's no one above you and even the people with lots of money comes to you with respect and bribes. This is true till you remain in the position. There were few dictators that remained in position till death or one that still held powers even but for most it would come to an end and if you haven't accumulated money yourself, no people would come seeking you.
Money is not permanent either but if you have methodically and carefully planned, it would keep generating money for generations. You might need to keep changing your strategy according to situation to save or increase your money but when you master the art, no one could take it from you.
