A lot of people say the key to expanding your knowledge is through reading and learning.But some argue it to be through movies.

Some say books are better that no movie can capture the depth of a written story.Others swear by the power of film, the music, the visuals, the emotion that floods your heart in a single scene.
But maybe it's not a competition, it's a conversation for us all.Both books and movies shares one purpose "storytelling."They 're different ways through which we see the same world.Each invites us to see the world,by ourselves in different lights.

So which is better neither or both?

I don't think this should be a thing to dialog about, because in my opinion they are both a good way of learn, but it depends on the individual. Some people learn better while reading,while other learn better via visual, so I think you just have to pick which works better for you and you learn from it.
Personally I learn from both and I will not pick one over ther other, although I think I am more of a visual person,  but I also learn via reading,  so I will not say one is better than the other, it just depend on the individual and how best you feel you feel you can learn better on each of the medium.

Reading books is never an alternative to movies and movies are never an alternative to books. The characteristics and functions of both are different. Reading books makes you think slowly and makes you stop and think.
Reading books is a deep feeling and it creates a world of imagination in the brain and reading books increases the analytical power. Reading books forms thoughts in silence. When we watch movies, we have scenes in front of our eyes where acting, scenery, music affect emotions. Watching movies allows us to gain experience instantly.
I personally like both. And the choice of these two depends on the person which one he feels comfortable with.

Whichever is better for you.

Some people prefer reading, others are more audio-visual. There is nothing wrong with either. You just have to know yourself and your own learning/motivation habits. Books are just the older medium as we did not have anything to compare it to before TV and movies became a thing. Maybe the radio. Maybe.

Either way they are all just methods for the storing the medium (information).

There is no competition to which one is better than other, the both are good but no for everyone, some people can understand clearly by seeing movies and some by reading. Its harder for some people to visualize and memorize what had been read, some people find reading to be boring because there is no animated images depicting what the writer is trying to explain, while some finds it waste of time sitting for long hours watching movies.

I personality love reading because, following in between lines make me easily grab than watching a tutor, if i want to follow a tutor, i must have a read the courses two to three times before fully understand a tutor explaining what i have read off the course material.

And it would be even better if we do both. By reading a book, we can imagine the scenes, characters, and settings in the story. By reading a book, we have our own sensations, feelings, and emotions when reading it well, carefully, and focused, so that we are carried away by the story. And by watching a movie, we can enjoy the visuals that will be carried away by the atmosphere depending on the film. However, sometimes books and movies have many differences because movies are limited by time, which makes the film as short as possible and only shows the main points for the audience to enjoy, while books have plenty of time and pauses that allow us to really understand well from beginning to end. So it is better to read the book first before watching the movie so that everything can be enjoyed properly.

Both are of different ideology but share some characteristics in common which are time consuming, entertainment purpose, educational purposes and informative in nature. In as much as both are of the same purpose but in different ways, that of books requires high level of  intelligence and reading skills before one can receive it while that of movies requires know specific skill and  may be received by any body without minding there qualifications. The  bottom line of all is there ability to offer profitable information to any person willing to accept

Movie's are more like a visual reflection of our society, it helps give a physical narrative of the story it wants to tell, this comes with comics, action, and affection, this makes humans to stay glued as they can easily relate. While books tells stories that will help build your imaginative sense, this helps in building your intellect, as you can be creating scene on your head based on what your reading. But I do believe both help in building people knowledge of understand.
