Are you still hoping for an altcoins season?

I can recall about two months thereabouts when some members in this section where hinting on a last possible altcoins season yet to come again before the year and bull season expires.

Are you still optimistic about the altcoins season for a cycle top? Or, is it still early to draw conclusions about it that the altcoins season has already come and gone but some of us are not even aware of it?

Some believe the altcoin season already happened long time ago in the early days of this year when bitcoin was bullish. Many altcoins were also bullish and followed in the direction of the market trend. Since then, we haven’t seen altcoins move with that momentum, that’s why some group believed that the altcoin season is already over and we shouldn’t be expecting it again.

Also, since the market still remains in a state of surprises, some group still believe that the market will continue to be in this state while we still anticipate that the altcoin season will happen when we least expect it to happen. So it’s a mixed feeling from different people, we just have to wait to see what the market has for us to even come to any conclusions now.

like seriously it is kind of hard to just say for sure if the altcoin season is over or it is still ahead because the market has just been annoyingly unpredictable! if you look at earlier in the year many altcoins already had their strong runs when Bitcoin just pumped up!! so some people believe that was the real altcoin season but as usual others still think another wave could come later because the market can surprise us at any point, but personally i will advice that the best approach is to stay patient and watch how the trend develops before making any final decision or conclusions

I think this cycle is one of the most disappointing, especially for altcoin holders, because many believe that the altcoin season is coming soon. Many retail investors have accumulated coins/tokens that they believe have potential, or that fit the current narrative, and the rise of Bitcoin itself has boosted confidence. However, The fact is, the altcoin season has not arrived yet. One wonders, will the altcoin season really not come in this cycle?

I wasn't expecting a "flash crash" in october and I've been surprised as everyone else..I was thinking we we're going to have a dumptober then moonvember then end of the cycle in december/january 😒

Anyways, actually I think (hope, lol) we'll have a last pump to 100K+, maybe without any all time high, then the real bear market will begin......

To answer the question of this topic, I will say there is no altseason coming in 2025, nor in 2026. October 10th crash ruined the altseason, and maybe the whole end of the cycle.

I do think altcoins will eventually come back, but the real alt season will happen when everyday people actually want to learn about crypto rather than just “invest” through the easy on-ramps like ETFs. Until there’s genuine engagement and curiosity about the crypto ecosystem itself, things will stay the way they are. Just my thoughts.

Liquidity is still necessary, and that's the key benchmark, especially if it's purely temporary. It might not be a positive market, but rather the opposite. It's important to remember that if market sentiment is negative, most market participants will panic and not hesitate to sell, especially given the speed of information they receive when they see price movements pointing to a reversal. They now mostly prefer more fundamental asset options, rather than volatile ones.

Wealthy people won't be created solely from Bitcoin prices. In the cryptocurrency market, we see many ways to profit. If we start to see Bitcoin's dominance declining, it's a good idea to start buying altcoins. Choose only the top 20 altcoins with the lowest prices. Remember, our profits are calculated based on the percentage of the profit compared to our capital.

Given the current market situation, I no longer expect specific events to happen; whether they occur or not, it's fine. I'll continue to hold whatever altcoins I'm currently investing in via DCA.
If an altcoin season does come, that would be great because I'd definitely sell some of my altcoin holdings.

Anyway, I'll just continue with the strategies I've established in this crypto industry, such as staking, day trading, and long-term holdings. That's simply my routine checking the positions
I've set up in my trading activity twice or thrice a day.

What I think is we already might have passed the altcoin season. When bitcoins were trending above $115,000, we saw all altcoins joining the marathon and we saw some alts hitting ATHs as well. So that for me was an altcoin season. Now what we will experience is further dump which is going to continue for a couple of months. I do not see bitcoins recovering as of now and we have to accept the fact that most altcoins does rely on bitcoins so bitcoins is what I am speculating as of now.

I think there is no possible chance for altcoin season this year but maybe next year we will see altcoins rallying again. We will have to be patient and keep on holding our positions for a longer time as of now.

I agree, we had the altcoin season and that was it, nothing new will happen after this drop. It is not an easy thing to accept I know, but it is the reality and we have to accept this reality. Maybe not everyone will want this, but that is just the reality and nothing will change after this.

If we can accept this reality then we are going to be a lot more happier, it's just the way the market moves. Four year cycle is a reality that we have to accept and we had the bull run and this was it, nothing else will happen and we have to just accept it and see that bear is coming, it even came. We will just keep going lower from here and no more altcoin all time highs will happen from here on out, it's just the reality we have to accept.

If you compare your portfolio today and how it looked 3-5 years ago, did it change a lot? I see so many talks about Bitcoin, that I start to doubt if people are still interested in altcoins. Which makes me question if there are many who want to have altcoin season instead of market to return to bullish for Bitcoin. Amount of altcoins in my portfolio has decreased greatly and I hold only several altcoins from top20. I have converted many altcoins to Bitcoin and hold it because I am tired of waiting for to grow. They havent been growing for years and I dont see reasons anymore why they should start growing now or in future.

Depends what you have been holding like always. People always wait for that magical cycle to happen, even if that cycle was done already. Mostly it's because especially new people don't really understand what we are talking about when we talk about cycles or altcoin seasons / altcoin summers. To be fair, there's no one definition to any of those concepts.

Yes, it's no longer the case because a lot of people keep thinking it's business as usual without factoring in the fact that a lot of things have changed in the altcoins market. For instance, there are now more than 1000x to 10000x more altcoins than there used to be during the first 2 alts seasons and right now, there is almost zero capital to go into every single one of those tokens ro resemble what we know as alt season.

i do not think an altcoin season will come again this year. the way bitcoin’s price increased in 2025 was beyond everyone’s imagination. compared to how fast bitcoin went up the altcoins did not rise that much. i noticed one thing when bitcoin’s price dropped the prices of almost all altcoins dropped even more than bitcoin did.

in 2026 new bitcoins that have been mined will come into the market. then bitcoin’s price could go down. and if bitcoin makes a big dump then everyone knows what can happen to altcoins. even if an altcoin season comes in 2026 some tokens will not be able to return to their old levels. that is why if people want to invest in alt tokens they should choose only the best projects. otherwise if bitcoin dumps again the alt tokens will fall into a very bad situation.

For the change, things have really changed in the market; the circle and the expectation we have for it changed this year. There was some sort of disappointment in terms of how altcoins reacted this year compared to what we all were expecting, but since the crypto market is creating new history, I believe most of the traders have already accepted what they saw this year.

I got tired of arguing with my friend about this altcoin season that they were expecting, he was strongly believing that there was going to be an altcoin season, even when I tried to correct him that the price of most altcoin are influenced by the price spike of Bitcoin, yet they did not believe  but I think it's obvious now that there won't be any special altcoin season. You knew that altcoin season was made because it's a pump after that BTC influence you were referring.

Even though it might not happen, you can't disregard his belief about the altcoins season because it exists based on what happened in the past. Even if you searched about the definition of altcoin season in different crypto media, it defines as a season where altcoins are the majority gains than BTC. But since what happened earlier is just an "influence" of BTC which is also you've mentioned then it is not the altcoin season they're referring. And besides, with or without it, I already profited good in the recent run and if this altcoin season will exist in the near future then I'll be glad so when I someone hoping for it, I just let them do their thing, it's crypto and currently you can't even predict what's happening because it's correlated now with the global market so yah, just understand your friend.

It may be true that the four-year cycle no longer applies to the altcoin market. I'm not pessimistic about altcoin seasons, but the reality is, with the influx of shitcoins flooding the market, the altcoin market seems to have changed from its past. Before the influx of shitcoins, investors still had high confidence in investing in altcoins, making the altcoin market always bustling with investors and generating very high capital inflows, which of course had a significant impact on altcoin price movements. Today, investors no longer wait for altcoin seasons because, if we observe, they now more frequently manipulate price movements by pumping and dumping shitcoins or memecoins.
