Why the Forum still has the Old School Vibe & Look?

Personally, I generally like the minimalist design, without the unnecessary clutter that flickers before my eyes, which distracts me from the most valuable thing on the forum - the information. What's important isn't the "bright and colorful" packaging of modern platforms like Reddit and X, but the "inner" content - the community.

I'm used to this simple and familiar design and hope the administration doesn't change it.

You can consider old-school design a commitment to tradition. Just as bitcoin remains the only decentralized and true cryptocurrency, the forum remains unchanged.

So I'm wondering why this forum still has the Old School vibe.

cant speak for others but i like the simplistic, almost BBS look as its largely static - no banners, animations or other distracting junk vying for your attention.

Ops may have forgotten to mentioned or missed the fact that the forum use to allow all of that animated avaters and all the whole java junk's that we used to have in the forum before development and adoption of more cleaner and serene Forum graphics that we have right now.

At least if he have not been around back then like some of us when the forum has all of that, he should have read about them already, for me the Forum is ok and we love the old school vibe over here.

Hello fellow bitcoiners & Forum Members. I'm a crypto enthuasist since 2015 , If I recall correctly the first time I had learnt about bitcoin the price was  around $3500-$4000/BTC. That time the community of Bitcoin was not that spread like today, so I would hardly find someone to talk about it.

According to what you wrote, it took you about 2 years to find out about Bitcoin because the price you mention only became a reality in 2017. I wonder what you've been doing for so long as a crypto enthusiast...?

Yeah it is a bit weird to be off by a factor of 10. 

I guess he would have remembered it better if they actually bought some back then. I first bought in ~$700 in 2014, completely unaware of the ongoing MtGox fiasco. Then I watched the price go down, down, down into the low $200s in 2015 and thought, well this sucks. And that is how I got into altcoins. Scarred for life probably.

We could try raising funds to build a new forum that will better address the needs of the users here.  Maybe some of the folks in Default Trust want to donate some funds to bring the forum software up to current?  I'm sure there must be at least one DT user who has given back something to the forum, right?

Donators are not like DT members. DT is what someone can get in and also lose it at anytime. It can also be manipulated. But donating to the forum is something that is done out of love and passion to the forum and bitcoin at large, not necessarily out of abundance.

Nevertheless, there might not be any need to contribute financially to the forum again. The early birds did it for us.

Epochtalk probably took up USD worth millions in BTC and yet it completely became a failed project after over a decade of patiently waiting for the software to be perfected. What makes you think that the "peanuts" members may donate will do the magic?

Maybe he only heard about cryptocurrencies in 2015, and it took him a few years to realize (learn) that Bitcoin exists. I often see people talking about those years and for some reason quoting the wrong prices, maybe their AI is not as intelligent as it seems to them

I first heard about Bitcoin around 2011 because I was interested in technology, but it was somewhere on the margins of a local forum and it wasn't until 2014 that I started to get more interested in it. I have to admit, I first claimed DOGE on the faucet, then BTC, and that's when I got hooked on it until today.

The time when the DOGE price was written as -> 1000 DOGE = $0.14 - luckily, I saved them until today and regardless of the fact that they are worth quite a lot, they are still waiting for some crazy price to leave my wallet.
